It is supposed to be illegal for you to be required to pump your own gas. The way these guys get around pumping your gas for you is that they wait forever inside the store hoping that you get so frustrated. Just get out and do it yourself. I am disabled and it is very difficult for me to get around my car and put my gas. It seems to be a trick that most gas stations are doing now to avoid doing any work. I waited out here for quite some time before the guy saw me having difficulty popping gas and then finally came out, but it was too late. I already completed it. I wish these guys along with other gas stations would quit playing games. And I'm trying to take advantage of the new law. There are several gas stations that I will no longer go to in this one. No respect for their customer, I stopped in on my travels through the area and need gas and to use the restroom. I put $89.00 of gas in the car and stepped in to use the restroom, not even looking up the cashier said nope, I said huh and he answered with did you not see the sign at the door. I walked out and looked at the sign, it said No Public Restroom, don't even ask( the sign is about 5"X6" on the left side of the door and I was the only one in the store ). I'm 70 years old with prostate problems, so I make sure every stop counts. This primitive inhospitable place! No bathrooms available to public. Expected to predetermine how much gas you are going to purchase to fill your tank. Help there unfriendly--frankly hostile. The gas station like the appearance of the town is equivalent to a third world country. Dirty, ugly, dismal. Brightest spot in the town was a girl working as a clerk in the old dilapidated grocery store. She shared a public restroom location behind the dingy post office behind a filth strewn parking lot. Feces on the floor and urine on the walls. I was thankful for paper towels and soap so I could wipe down the seat and build a hygienic barrier to use the toilet. I cleaned up what I could as I believe in leaving a facility cleaner than I find it. However, my shoes were soiled from the feces on the floor. I took them off and threw them in the back of our truck before getting into my seat. While I was occupied my husband was asked to leave the gas station AFTER HE FUELED and pulled clear out of the way of the pumps to the far corner of the property! He responded to the clerk he was waiting for his wife. The clerk said he had to leave and waiting for a wife was not his problem. The gas station was a chevron and I am telling you it DOES NOT meet Chevron standards. The town is a depressing pit. Even though there was trash and junk in that place, the Columbia River view was a scenic location. Pity, really. read more

First, they don't have a restroom even for paying customers. We bought a full tank of gas. We were going to buy snacks and drinks too but decided against giving more money to this business. Second, the attendant pointed us to a public restroom. No problem until we get there to use it and there is a whole log of fecal material under the toilet seat. We prefer Chevron stations because they are usually a little nicer than others so we are ok with paying the higher gas prices that they charge. The Chevron in Cascade Locks is a joke. They are rude (literally have a sign up that says don't even ask about a bathroom) and gave single work responses to any other communication. Go anywhere else you can. read more

Friendly service, small town shop, and did I mention full service gas station? When you drive into the station, there are lines on the ground which dings and alerts the attendant. I went inside to get a drink while my gas was filling up my vehicle (gone 3 minutes max) and the gas pump spilled about 20 gallons on the ground. The gas attendant said it was my fault, however his pumps malfunction regularly. They never even cleaned the spilled fuel and it ran down the road into the city water drains and I get to eat the 20 gallons of fuel when I go fishing again. read more

Can't give an opinion on the automotive service here, but the customer service I've received from the gas attendants that I have been helped by since moving to Cascade Locks 7 months ago is always top notch and speedy. One man even took notice of one of my tires being dangerously low and put air in it for me. That kind of service from a gas attendant is almost non-existent now-a-days! He literally may have saved me from a blown tire that could have caused me to get into a car accident that could have been fatal. I've never written a review, good or bad, but this place requires a warning. The auto repair guy is very dishonest. Quoted me 380 for an ignition switch when I got stranded in Cascade Locks. This seemed way steep, so I called another shop in Hood River and they said 130. The Chevron tech got extremely pissed off that I shopped around, and said he would likely refuse me service even if I wanted to keep it there. Getting a second opinion is normal and fair and even encouraged at an honest mechanic. He told me it would be a 3 hour job, but the standard mechanic database shows half an hour. We told him this, and a few minutes later he came back and said he just found out it would be half an hour, and that he was quoting outdated pricing before. He charged me $80 for the diagnosis, even though the car was never pulled into the garage and there was dust on the column clearly showing he didn't even touch the car. Very rude and unprofessional, passive aggressive to the max, and deceitful. Taking advantage of me because I happened to be stuck in his lot. read more

On the way to Portland we hit a piece of tire tread on the road. A loud noise ensued so we pulled into cascade locks and fortunately found this chevron station. They were very helpful and friendly. Not only did he crawl under the car to assess the problem, take off the broken piece, but also took a photo of the damage from under the car with our phone so that we could send it to the cars owner. We offered to pay, but they assured us there's no charge. We continued on to Portland, thankfully. We would highly recommend this station and really appreciated their generous help. read more

Sadly, mrs Brown clearly needs to seek psychological counseling. Ms. brown is a very angry person bringing drama everywhere she goes. She harassed our FB site, had to ban her, then she started leaving threatening messages on our shop phone, we finally had to involve the local Sheriff. Sad. We tried to explain the situation to her but she had already made her decision that we are "bad people" because we don't give our services for "free". Our diagnosis is accurate Ken is a highly qualified tech. Our labor rate is $80/hr based on national labor guid. All within industry standard. We allow customers to leave a car after repair for 24 hrs after which we reserve the right to charge storage at $30/day, we are also an impound yard. We charge storage to encourage people to pick up their cars, otherwise I've seen cars remain for weeks on end. We explained this to our customer who informed us she would need to leave the car for several weeks. We gave her a full week of storage for free, she was grateful about the entire transaction. No one is under any obligation to store their car at our shop. We discourage it as we need our space for new business. We informed our customer that her mother Theresa Brown was threatening us and harassing our employees. She said her mother is very reactive / volatile. In the end, the incentive system was again successful as Theresa Brown managed to have her daughters car picked up the following Monday, no storage fees or incurred. Running a business is no simple task, we do our best to please all of our customers and we please most everyone. This person wasn't even a customer, her adult daughter was our customer and she was very happy. Remember, for every one negative comment on Yelp we have an additional thousand happy customers who don't post. A happy customer will tell a friend. A angry customer will tell 100.
