The first few times, I didn't check dates (I shouldn't have to do that) and ended up needing to throw over half of my groceries away. It can be frustrating sorting through all of the cartons of milk or yogurt to find one that isn't expired, and only sometimes getting lucky enough to find one. Do a better job of checking your inventory; items are consistently either sold out for weeks, or sitting stale on the shelf. Your inventory manager needs to be fired.
