I've tried a few nandos in N.I and this one has been my favourite. I know the menu is the same in…read moreall of them but the food came out faster and hotter here than in the other two. The staff here were incredibly accommodating for my family, as we have an allergy kid in the ranks, who is anaphylactic to eggs and nuts, and has a few other "minor" allergies. They allowed my sister to order food for her son, and wait for my son and I before putting hers, my brothers and my mums order in with the kitchen so we could all eat together as I was running late. They couldn't have done enough for us, and Noelle kept checking that our little man was the only one among us with an allergy. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and will be back - not least of all because the manager bestowed upon us an amazing random act of kindness, which, considering we had just come in for lunch before visiting our dad at the Royal, this meant the entire world to us. Will be back. Probably tomorrow. Cause it was lush!

I've never been a fan of Nando's, until now. I enjoyed my visit on Friday 9 September 2016 to this…read moreBoucher Crescent Nando's immensely and found food, staff and restaurant itself excellent. It was very busy so we had a short wait to get a table. Once seated we browsed menus and went to the till to order and pay for our food (another short wait) which was then brought promptly to our table. There's an excellent vegetarian selection on the menu of burger/ wrap/ pitta offerings. Available fillings are a spicy soya and tomato Veggie Burger, a Beanie Burger and a Portobello Mushroom & Grilled Halloumi option. Plus a huge range of vegetarian sides. I ordered the Beanie Burger with sides of coleslaw and chips. The food was filling and tasty. Our Pinot Grigio and beer were good. We loved the excellent customer service which saw us getting two beers for the price of one by way of apology, as our first choice of beer had sold out and wasn't available. The ambience was bustling, lively and family friendly. Prices are reasonable and Nando's decor is bright, warm and welcoming. It's always a plus to get free refills on soft drinks and delicious mango frozen yogurt. All in all a great experience. I also now realise that the secret to a scrumptious Nando's is to always go up and order your own food, rather than letting your friends order for you, so you can get the spice levels right.

McDonald's - Always very busy at the drive through!

The sameness of Mc Donald's makes it a business that most don't review. It offers low grade, cheap…read morefood that's not really healthy but boy oh boy it makes staggering sums of money, so much so that those with franchises who pay minimum wages, drive mega luxury vehicles and live on acres of land with literally mansions for homes. And good luck to them. The business proves there's a huge market for assembly line high sugar, high fat, highly processed factory food. I mean they don't even use fresh onions. For us it's an occasional cup of alright, organic coffee at a quid, or occasionally a cappuccino at £1.5. What makes this franchise worth 5 stars is the sheer friendliness of the staff and their enthusiasm despite low pay and zero benefits. It's really long past time for politicians to start taxing these multi nationals properly and compelling a living wage. It's really very simple here; if you open a small business and can't pay tax the tax man will tell you to close. So it follows if you employ people and can't pay living wages (when you drive a £100k motor and live in a mansion) then close. Some might see this as socialism - it's not it's basic fairness for the greater good. A concept we do well to embrace.

My usual trip is the drive through now, rockin n in with 3 kids under 7 isn't my idea of a 'happy' meal but more like stress city! However, with the youngest minion getting minded, I treated the eldest two to actually go in for their food this time lol! I was pleasantly surprised at the changes! It's very modern and well presented now, with table service (oooooh!) and Samsung tablets to keep the kiddies entertained Me and the sister placed our orders at the self serve for the table service, took our seats and let the kids at the tablets The food was good, the place was clean, the kids were happy and it all went smoothly! Way to go mcdonalds.. I'm still not bringing the mini terror in though...he will remain a drive though child until he's older lol!

For over 10 years, I have frequented the 'cottage' for a Chinese takeaway. It's probably more…read moreexpensive than others in the area but it's still very popular. There are 2 reasons for this, the first is the curry which is the hottest I have ever tasted (excluding Indians) The second is its convenient placement of the premises outside The Hunting Lodge Bar, which makes it the perfect stop before the journey home for those patrons of the Hunting Lodge which have become 'Tired and Emotional'. Although you would be remiss to think of the Hong Kong Cottage as merely a haven for those who are a little bit too merry, thanks to their varied and tasty menu it caters to all wishing for a nice oriental break from cooking at home. Try the Char Sui fried rice! It's my personal favourite.

I used to like the curry out of here, but every now and again it tastes very salty. I don't know if it's to do with different chefs or what, but just every now and again it's like that, which is disappointing from an otherwise good Chinese. The good thing about this Chinese (that I haven't seen with any others) is that they have some type of phone number recognition service - when you phone them, they know what your most recent order was. Now, I know what you're thinking, "this guy must phone them twice a week and that's why they know his order", but no. I only ever phoned them five or six times a year, and when my number came up they'd confirm my address to me. One time I ordered the same thing as I had the previous time, bar one item I'd excluded, and they asked me if I needed curry noodles as well. Either they have a Savant answering the phone who works every hour the place is open, or they have some type of recognition system. I'm inclined to believe it is the latter.

As it expected it was very popular so there was a bit of a wait and to be fair they were struggling. No real fast food. The menu covers quite a lot though. Pizza, burgers, wraps, Fish, sausages to name but few. That quite surprised me. The staff were very friendly ensuring I had the right order before leaving. The food actually wasn't bad and the chips are a healthy size so after the meal there's a good chance you'll feel full. The kids really enjoyed it so no doubt I'll be back.

I placed an order for a fry and my friend wanted a choc muffin heated with ice cream After coming back to me 2 times to double check what way I wanted my breakfast (?) I was able to sit and wait for my takeaway I'm not sure if they were training or not, but it took the two of them to disappear round back constantly checking if someone had did this, that, and worryingly so heard a few microwave dings! Coffee came with the fry, bewleys so was expecting it to be nice...pretty bland The fry itself was ok...I mean just ok...I don't think they have a hotplate so the soda was toasted...but very hard They don't do potato bread so it was toast but that's fair enough although I was a bit sad lol! The sausage was suspiciously pink on inside so gave it a wide berth The muffin however was a choc lover dream! Heated and mr whippy ice cream on top...what's not to love?! The menu itself covers everything now from breakfast, fish/chips, pizza etc so I'm not sure if they've spread themselves too thin? Or maybe it was just an off day? All in all I'm not dying to go back, but would prob bring the kids for an after school treat (yes...for the choc muffin lol!)
