Treehouse World - Treehouse World -- inside birthday cake

Treehouse World

Took my seven year old grandson here last week. Worth every penny! He walked the plank, flew down…read morethe zip lines and lived all of the different tree houses. The only thing I would say negatively; I don't believe the axe throwing station should be available to anyone under at least twelve and with better supervision. There were two young boys just chopping at the target and they could not throw the axes safely. A potential accident waiting to happen. Otherwise it was an amazing day for both of us.

I am not sure if Treehouse World is better during the summer with more staff, but I was less than…read morethrilled about our recent visit. One employee was manning the front office. Very nice, but was taking forever to check in. We waited almost 20 minutes to check in and I had pre-purchase tickets. Then we had to wait at the harness station. Another 15 minutes because only 1 employee. A second arrived, but that's when we were at the front of the line. The treehouses themselves are pretty cool. Sadly, more than one had trash left by people. So sad. Staff was nice, but they were short staffed. Multiple things weren't manned so we couldn't Partake in them. We walked to the farther zipline to find no one there to run it. The tomahawk throw didn't have staff. The bungee bounce had one worker so two pads weren't used. Forced us to wait 15-20 minutes for a turn. Then 1 minute later, the staff rotated and the new person ended my child's turn, not realizing they just got on the trampoline. The other issue was lack of parenting. A birthday party of boys was happening and the boys weren't being supervised. They were not following rules and the staff was too young to take control. When adults didn't follow the rules, I had to remove my child from the activity out of safety. The cost was then no longer worth it as time and again, we weren't able to do the activity. We left and won't return at full cost. It's a shame because it could be great.

If you call and inform them of a sickness or cant make a session, they offer makeups and if unable to make up they have credited my days for their camps. Communicate with them and they have a solution where we are on the same page and a level of trust and understanding. My daughter has for the past two years with low tone and could barely do a donkey kick it took coming each week for every session to gain strength she needed. This is a place where my daughter is very much engaged and encourage and became stronger over the years and now with a full summer of camp sessions she is beginning to do hand stands and more. She keeps showing up with delight and once she became strong enough Gymolympics is able to spot and give her skills to safely succeed and be more confident. I tell my daughter the more you do something the better you will become. Not everyone arrives at the same time. This loving approach and developing strength before pushing skills works for my daughter who may be our gymnast in the family. My number one quality I notice at Gymolympics their care for the children along with facility and staff. They show respect and the children freely give respect in return all while having fun. I also had my older three children who are all now teenagers and beyond when they were younger not for a long time but until they could do cartwheels and the basics as they developed other intrests like dance and tecnology. However my youngest son was 5 and he has autism. I asked if I could shadow him in the gym to help him follow the routine, as he is well behaved for me. They have a strict policy no parents in the gym but offered a solution. Since I had a support trained staff member from a behavioral health team he was allowed to shadow him and do the rountine. He took classes there for one year with this support. I am forever greatful for this opportunity. My son went on to dance. I believe this experience made it possible for my son to dance for over 6 years at a local dance studio who also treats people like family. Again Forever greatful. It takes a village. Gymolympic is not just about the gymnastics but the entire well being of everyone who comes through their doors. They are always so happy to see you!

Highly recommended for anyone in the area with a particularly energetic kid like me. We're also signing up for the camp they offer this summer.

With scenic walking trails, an outdoor classroom, day camps and a small indoor animal habitat, Briar Bush is a great spot for small children, couples on a date, or anyone looking for a brief respite from the urgency of the modern world. With free admission for locals and a small fee for out-of-towners, the preserve is accessible to all patrons provided that they are able to walk down some wooded trails that circle through the admittedly short walking routes. The centerpiece of the trails is a picturesque, secluded pond with benches for sitting and an interactive sign with information on the local fauna and flora. The indoor animal habitat has a small gift shop, pamphlets on upcoming events and information on other parks in the area, and several interesting animals such as a blind possum named Odin, a bearded lizard named Karl, and several other unique turtles and reptiles. All of Briar Bush can be walked through in an hour or so, but the low admission, interactive nature events and scenic walking trails will have you wanting to return again soon.

I know what poison ivy looks like, and when it's in hairy vine form, it can choke a tree and kill it. There was a wildlife sanctuary in the neighborhood that I grew up in as a child, and many of the trees almost died because they were being choked by poison ivy. Hairy vine, no friend of mine. But, on a more positive note, they have some animals that you can pet (when they are being presented by a lecturer), including rabbits, rats, and snakes, plus a turtle. In fact, now, as I am typing this, I remember coming here as a kid with school and Cub Scouts and my family as well, and I remember Boo the Rat (R.I.P!) and I remember a turtle who came to Briar Bush after being fed dog food by its owner. Eww. Bottom line, presentation is everything. One thing that I personally don't mind but that wildlife and some other visitors are probably irritated by is the fact that SEPTA's Warminster Line runs behind Briar Bush with a train going by every so often.

The staff was absolutely fantastic. The party hosts, Alex and AnnMarie PLAYED non-stop with the kids. Kept everyone happy and everything running smoothly. If you have a party these two are highly recommended! The "cosmic party" was great (everything white or neon glows), the equipment all brand new. The place was clean. Even the pizza was good. This BounceU is in an unassuming building in a sort of industrial park. But there is magic inside. The facility was very well organized and clean. There were plenty of staff at each station, from the front check in to the play rooms to the party rooms. The rooms are a lot less chaotic than similar party places that I've been to. Each bounce room only had one party at a time. There was only one main door in and out. This gave me peace of mind that my kid wouldn't be able to wander off or get lost following a different party. After a long play period, the party ends with pizza and cake (parent provided?) in a private room. They play photos of the party on a TV screen and sing happy birthday. There are also little goodie bags with knick knacks. It seemed like all the kids had a great time and left happy.
