They go above and beyond the standard curriculum, offering so many enriching activities and hosting multiple events throughout the year that actively engage parents and showcase the children's creativity. The outdoor play area is fantastic, with a large grassy space that gives the kids plenty of room to run and explore, plus fenced-in play areas with fun, developmentally appropriate play equipment and toys. Every morning when we arrive (right at opening due to work schedules), the staff is already there with smiles on their faces--and so is my son! He's excited to go each day, which speaks volumes. The facility also makes safety a top priority. Access is secure, with entry controlled by keycode and monitored by a ring camera--staff greet parents at the door and let them in individually. When someone other than me picks up my son, staff verifies they are on the approved list and checks ID without fail. I really appreciate that level of diligence, care, and security. Another big plus is the use of the Brightwheel app. It makes daily updates seamless--check-in/out is easy, and I receive updates and photos throughout the day that give me peace of mind and help me feel connected to what my son is doing. My son is absolutely thriving here! Enrolling him in Li'l Tykes has been one of the best decisions I've made. Since he started daycare, I wanted him to be in a place that feels like he's with family. Many of the teachers have been there for decades (a family member went to BCSYC 20 years ago and had three of the same teachers our kids have today). The teaching staff is quite diverse, as are the families. We have been impressed with their approach to COVID safety, including clear and prompt communication with families. The Spanish and music lessons have been a big hit, and our older child loved the swimming lessons last summer. It's an excellent program.

Susan, the director, has been very responsive and accommodating, and our daughter's teachers are loving and involved. I have found the building and outside area to be clean (the playground area is awesome), and I will echo one of the other parents that the teachers in the other rooms go out of their way to engage with parents and children who are not even assigned to their rooms. There is a nice sense of community here. In particular, Miss Saamara in the Cuddlebug room is outstanding. She is incredibly warm and sweet. Our child had some issues with separation anxiety at first and Miss Saamara would take her and walk her around the room while holding her, showing her pictures and talking to her in a soothing voice as I left. I would often pause for a minute outside the room to make sure my child stopped crying, and Miss Saamara always had her calmed within a minute or two. Now that she has adjusted to her classmates and teachers, our child is always happy and barely notices when we arrive to pick her up - she would rather keep playing! One of the other things I really liked about this program is that most of the teachers have been here much longer than other programs: 5-15 years. That made me very comfortable that the director knows the teachers well and that they are in this career because they love what they do. The reason for the 4 out of 5 star rating is that we have had two minor issues here, but I feel that these has been handled well by the teachers/director and were positively resolved. (a few late arrivals by a teacher which caused me to be late to work and one incident where I picked up my daughter and she had developed a high fever but I was not called. The teachers had not noticed due to it being about 80 degrees out and the children were outside playing.) Overall, I felt these incidents were minor and I felt the teachers and director responded quickly and appropriately to my concerns. I think that as we get more time under our belt here (we have only been enrolled 6 months) and no further issues arise, I would be very comfortable amending this rating to a 5 star.

I've recommended this location to other friends looking for child care centers - we're happy with our decision to go with P&L in Bryn Mawr and look forward to our daughter continuing to grow and learn throughout her time there.
