I brought him into this hospital for emergency care and was then scolded by a vet for the condition of his eye. In his experience there were drops my dog should have been receiving for his vision loss and he very callously told me the accident was my fault due to the lack of these drops. I began to cry. He (incorrectly) assumed I had been neglecting my dog's vision because vet care and the drops may have been "out of my price range." Through tears, I explained to this man that I had been going to my primary care vet bi-monthly for this, and detailed the meds they had been recommending for his deteriorating vision. While I was explaining this I received eye rolls, scoffing and the vet interrupted me to tell me he didn't care what my other vet had said- this was what should be done. It was already a very stressful day made worse by this man (white, tall, middle aged) intimidating me (a young, petite woman). Even the vet tech in the room looked uncomfortable with his demeanor. He may have been correct about the drops- I love my dog so I was open to a second opinion, but his approach was aggressive, demeaning and very unprofessional. I truly hope he no longer practices here.

The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient, making sure not only my dog but also my daughter and boyfriend felt comfortable. What really stood out was how they went above and beyond in explaining different food options for my dog. Instead of pushing expensive brands, they took the time to educate me on affordable alternatives that are just as nutritious, which could save me a lot of money in the long run. That level of honesty and care is so rare these days. They also did something so small yet so thoughtful--offering my daughter a little toy to help keep her happy during the appointment. It made the whole experience easier for all of us. Their pricing is very reasonable, and in a world where big corporations seem to dominate, it's refreshing to come across a small business that still operates with integrity, heart, and true passion. I'm so glad we found them and will absolutely be coming back! Thank you, Brittany McCann

First of all, she is incredibly reasonably priced, and secondly, she is hands down the nicest vet you'll ever meet. She understands each and every animal, and can figure out a game plan for healing them of an ailment. My situation was unique in that I had her work with the local vet, and she was really cooperative. She really helped save my dog! She recently moved into her own business, and its a lot nicer there than where she was before (in a conventional vet office). My dog LOVES her, and she loves him just as much. My two girls will literally pull my arm off to get into the place when we have an appointment, and apparently I am not the only one. I've been there in the morning for appointments and have witnessed some daycare dogs arriving and it seems like they cant get in the place fast enough. The young lady comes out and gets them. If she didn't know how to keep her feet grounded she would be taking flying lessons with the excitement. Dr. Beres had a technician that works with him, Emily. She is the nurse version of him and won't let you walk out confused. She also informed me last time I was there that my littlest (a chihuahua who's three) could use a dental cleaning, and showed me the plaque that had build up. She thoroughly explained the procedure and what would happen. She also informed me that she was a certified dental technician, specially trained in dentistry for pets. I asked her if all vet's had a person like her and apparently not. Dr. Beres goes out of his way to make sure that he has the proper staff with all the necessary training and certification to provide the best care for the patients and clients that walk through his door. I wouldn't trust my girls in anyone elses care.

She said my dog is fat (She's not) and her teeth should be cleaned (She didn't look at them-only read the chart.) Worst vet ever. Dr Lamme is a wonderful resource for those wanting a holistic vet…read more My cat was diagnosed with Kidney disease and the only solution her vet could provided was a Hills Science Diet (what idiotic company produces a DRY kidney disease cat food when dry foods are about the worst thing your can give a cat with CRF - forget about the fact that I never met a cat who actually wanted to eat the crap). Upon the recommendation of the owner of Pet's Choice in Deep River I visited with Dr Lamme. His "office" is nothing fancy. It is in the basement of his house and hardly what one would envision as a vet clinic but then, Dr Lamme is not your usual run-of-the-mill vet. He doesn't have tons of expensive diagnostic equipment or the ubiquitous exam room stocked with a stainless steel table and scale. If you need to have tests run it's best to have them done at a regular clinic as he will tell you. Where Dr Lamme excels is in holistic treatment for animals. I sat with him for nearly two hours. He reviewed my cat's blood test results and was clearly knowledgeable in understanding them. He gave me diet advice which is about all you can do for CRF cats. He printed out a number of home recipes I could try, educated me on feline nutrition and provided me with some supplements as well. As it turned out my cat was a bit of a "junk food junkie" and decided that she was bored with my homemade foods after just a few feedings. Based on Dr Lamme's advice though, I knew what to look for when I got to the health food and pet stores. It's not protein that hurts the kidneys so much as the phosphorus. In switching her diet to premium highly nutritious foods that contained no fillers, by products and processed junk my cat could continue to live a high quality life. She survived very happily for 3 more years. She went into renal failure just 6 weeks shy of her 20th birthday. She was still playing and enjoying life right up until the day before she died. I am convinced that my visit to Dr Lamme extended the time she had left with me without compromising the quality of her life.
