It is amazing what transpired from these children. It was obvious to me that the teaching here was excellent. You can take Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, the list goes on. I know a lot of children who take classes from her and they all love this school. The owner Erin Kim Turnbull McCall has done a great service by bringing this school to three locations along the South Shore.

The place was Completely full a half hour before the show and many turned away There are no tickets sold you simply make a donation to their charity of choice It changes each season You get a glimpse of the history of Lunenburg NS hence the title "GLIMPSES" The skits all had original music for each piece of local history and what a history it was You laugh stamp your feet and touching moments as well! As if you weren't entertained enough then they go downstairs to the pub like restaurant and continue to sing any song requested from audience!! It was here that I understood why they are soooo good. I have been to many shows from New York to Las Vegas (not place dropping lol it leads to my point) Everyone on stage looks like they are having a blast and we know that makes it entertaining but this group are having a blast and truly encourage and support each other What you are seeing is real It is like when you enter a workplace where you know they are happy and like family It makes you think "I wish I worked here" Well you definitely would want to hang out with this group! Being a Yelp Elite got me invited to one of the first showings of 'Uncle Oscars Experiment' in 10 years! It was awesome! The performers were incredibility talented in every way possible; it was so good I was left with chills a few times. The songs were catchy the music was a treat to the ear and the story line was creative, interesting and humorous! If you get a chance to check out a Zuppa Theatre production i highly recommend it - I'll definitely be checking out more.

It's not Neptune, it's not a touring show at the Metro Centre...it's a completely intimate experience that feels more like sitting in on the inner circle of an artist collective than just any old performance. Part of that secret society feel comes from the anticipation of it all. Without a permanent theatre venue, Zuppa seems to swoop through various locations for whatever show they happen to be offering at the time. The Debacle, for example, brought me to a tiny 30-seater inside the Armbrae Academy, where the close quarters made the entire audience feel like family. A little too intimate for you? Then keep an eye out for their amazing concert line-ups and creative fundraisers that keep their shows going. The ticket prices are fantastic for the talent you get to see at each event.

Came to Al Whittle Theatre last month while on my first ever trip to Nova Scotia…read more The Al Whittle Theatre was hosting films for the Devour Fest in Wolfville and what a treat it was. The venue was comfy, large enough for the festival yet intimate. The sound was great and the stage perfect for a cast discussion afterwards. The coffee shop attached, Just Us Cafe, is lovely and quite inviting with large glass/roll up bay doors that must be heavenly in the warmer summer months. A true gem in Wolfville! Loved it!

It is used frequently as a movie theatre utilizing their digital projector with cinema server. Some presenters have put satellite into the theatre and are receiving live broadcasts from elsewhere on the planet (dance, theatre, music, etc). The Fundy Film Society is one of the main presenters and brings in cinema that you rarely see in the larger cities, let alone in a small burg like Wolfville. The fall Slow Food Film Festival, DEVOUR, is also presented here. And it is a venue for the Deep Roots Music Festival. And Summer Valley Theatre. And Night Kitchens plus various CD release events. Just Us Cafe is the front of the building and acts as the concession for the various events, although they do close early so there's no hanging around after the show for coffee-fuelled discussions; it's next door to Paddy's Pub for that. The theatre lobby does provide an intimate after-screening venue when needed, or a wine & cheese gathering, as it always has art displayed on its walls, doubling as Jack's Gallery. The space is fully decked out for the 21st century and is bringing "the world to Wolfville". The Acadia Cinema Coop is the building co-owner, with Just Us Cafe as another co-owner, plus hundreds of locals who have bought shares in the operation. They are the facilitators but do not present productions themselves, other than the occasional freebie or fundraiser (of which there are many here). A good venue for entertainment or town hall type meetings.

I had such a horrible experience as promoter in Spatz Theatre recently…read more Rented Spatz theatre around dozen times for events I promoted in 2018-2019. Spatz Theatre was managed by Sara who always did a great job. I had a show scheduled for March 2020 that was postponed due Covid restrictions. I was so excited finally to reschedule my show for March 21 2022, day when NS was going to lift some Covid Restrictions. Around 2 weeks ago i got an email from Cathy, who replaced Sara as manager, informing me that Spatz Theatre and school board decided to cancel my event, because " they are not ready to host full capacity event yet" even i told them all patrons going to wear masks at the show so that would help to avoid some risk. They also told me that even if they would reschedule my event all tickets should be refunded first because they want to change a box office provider. That really disappointed me because unnecessary refunds always are stressful for a promoter and ticket holders. 2 weeks before an actual event i had to look for another venue and change so many things: advertising, contract, setting a new box office for event , etc. Luckily Rebecca Cohn Auditorium was available for the same date and they had no issue to host a big event even they are located in educational facility as well. Just couple hours before refunds to ticket holders i found out that Spatz and Ticket Halifax want to hold CC fees and box office fees and do not refund it to ticket holders, even cancellation of event was completely not their fault. I literally had to fight with Cathy about it and made them refund my ticket holders in full amount. After posting announcement about changing venue on event page and refunds started to get processed i was receiving a lot of messages asking about directions to buy tickets on presale even it supposed to be sent in email with cancellation explanation that supposed to be sent before refunds would be made and then few more times after that, to be sure all patrons was noticed about changes. I asked Ticket Halifax representative Lindsay to fix that issue but they denied it and didn't do anything to help me and my show ticket holders. Just now i received a copy of email from Ticket Halifax from one of my ticket holders and I found that text of letter was not one that i approved. They changed it and removed an explanation why Spatz Theatre cancelled this event. Not only actions of Spatz Theatre and Ticket Halifax caused stress and financial loss for me and ticket holders but they also lied to me. I don't think that's behaviour appropriate for people who manage the theatre. It's not ok to treat your loyal customers like that! Extremely disappointed.

I made it in the other night for a limited run of RENT. While I won't make this review all about the show (which I LOVED by the way), it was a great space for that sort of a production and I'm thrilled that Spatz opened their doors to a new theatre troupe ready to make a splash. Seats are comfortable, acoustics seem fine (I know nothing about that stuff), and there's plenty of room both around you when seated, and in the auditorium in general (there's even a balcony). Downsides? Well, it's a little weird to enter through a high school especially when waiting for the doors to open in a cafeteria type space. It was all a little too Degrassi for my liking.

The instructors are professional and have high standards, they build a wonderful supportive environment for youth learning to develop their skills. As dancers develop, they are given opportunities to perform on stage and work together to create beautiful productions. Coastal Dance offers additional learning opportunities and private lessons. Later on, students can apply to assist teachers and learn skills in instruction.
