Bayfields Bed & Breakfast - Blue Willow bedroom, 2nd floor, sleeps 2

Bayfields Bed & Breakfast

This beautiful B&B by the Chesapeake Bay offers so many opportunities throughout the day for a calm…read moreand relaxing stay by the water -- from sitting by the river while watching the daybreak, to swimming in the pool while watching the moonrise, and everything in between. There are plenty of lounge and rocking chairs throughout the property to just read a book under a tree or rock yourself to sleep. There's a respectable-sized pool outdoor overlooking the river (with a diving board at the deep end), and a spa and sauna indoor. The larger room (Holly and Ivy) is 2-rooms connected together and out to the balcony with clothes line to help dry your clothes after your water adventures. The children's tale-themed rooms are decorated with family belongings and heirloom (e.g., the Blue Willow room was the owner's daughter's room), so you feel right at home. Some of our family members stayed in beds in the library downstairs surrounded by old and newer books next an antique desk and yes, a spinning wheel. Around the corner there is a pier with a bench on a floating dock tied to it. Night time is magical, with or without the moon and stars, and you can just watch the boat or house lights on the river side glitter over the water. There is no A/C, but honestly, the breeze -- even during the summer where it's 90-100 degrees elsewhere -- provides enough natural coolant that you may only need the fans, which are provided in the rooms. Robin, the friendly and accommodating owner, is always ready with a quick smile and a story about the history of the family or house. Common sense rules are posted for enjoyment of all (quiet hours observed after 11pm, tie the boat by the shed, care to be taken with the fragile bathroom system, etc.) The farm has Pixie the goat and the 2 sheep (who have gone viral with their own video!) along with chickens and ducklings and Pete the sweet dog (with his own police record!) and a cat who just roam about the property. Eggs from the farm are abundant and the owner encouraged us to cook and eat them lest they get spoiled. The town with groceries (Giant, Safeway), with restaurants and fast food (Arby's, Saigon Palace, and the Chesapeake Seafood with their superfresh seafood among others) are about a 15 min drive north, so this place is both secluded and convenient. If there were any drawback, there are mostly related to the water-sport area as some gears felt a bit worn (there's some "old ignored Chesapeake" feel to it), e.g., it would help to have more adult-sized comfortable life vest and more 2-paddle oars (to match the number of seats on the kayaks/boats if all boats are to be used). The greenhouse area where the sauna and spa is also just that -- a greenhouse, with tools lying around (don't expect a lavish steam room) -- but to me, these add to the charm of this down-to-earth B&B that makes it feel closer to home. The 1921 B&B history book mentioned spiritual entities (a white dog, a lady in black) but during our stay they didn't manifest themselves or being bothersome (they were all part of the ancestral family of the owner after all) -- It's actually made the stay a bit exciting and Robin told some of the historical stories quite light heartedly, which is appreciated. A dreamy and memorable stay in this fantastic historic place, with a super friendly host and beautiful view all around.

I sold my house using Rob Spicer's services and could not be more pleased. He has a fee structure that is unlike all other real estate agents in the area and it allowed me to save several thousand dollars in the sale of my house. His website lists his services and fee schedule, which is customized to the needs of a client. I chose "Option I" which essentially had a $495 fee and 1% commission. Most other real estate agents were 3 or 4% commission, so this was a significant reduction in price. Rob was extremely professional, has excellent knowledge of the market, and is well-educated on real estate laws, local ordinances, etc. He allowed me to be in charge and yet was involved as much as I needed. I have bought and sold other homes, and felt fortunate to be able to do business with Rob. I highly recommend reviewing his website and considering him for buying or selling property.

The house, located on a beautiful tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in Dundalk, MD, was the perfect peaceful retreat during a challenging time. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property was well-loved and cared for. Our property manager, Jason Novak of PMI Old Line, was outstanding. He was incredibly responsive, always getting back to us quickly and taking care of any issues that came up. He even went above and beyond by coming out to shovel snow for us, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It really made a difference in making us feel comfortable and at home. The owners of the property truly made us feel welcome as well. They came by during the holidays and surprised us with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and lovely holiday decorations. It was such a heartwarming touch that made our time away from home feel a little brighter. We were staying in the area to receive medical treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and having this wonderful property to return to at the end of each day made our stay that much more bearable. The serene setting along the bay offered a peaceful escape, and the house itself had all the amenities we needed for a long-term stay. If you're looking for a cozy, well-maintained rental with outstanding management, I wholeheartedly recommend this property. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we will certainly keep it in mind for future trips to the area. if you're looking for a property management firm then you need to no further than PMI old line and Jason Novak. We had a quick business trip to the area and stopped here for an early dinner before heading to our…read morehotel. This place is nestled along the quiet waterfront in Deale, Maryland; it is one of those classic Chesapeake Bay gems that manages to balance small-town charm with a lively dockside spirit. You will always find fishermen swapping stories, families gathering after a day on the water, and visitors who came for the sunset and stayed for the crab cakes. The panoramic view of Rockhold Creek is breathtaking. The vibe is relaxed and local in the best possible way: nautical flags, weathered wood, and a bar that feels as though it's been a gathering place for generations. In warm weather, the outdoor deck fills quickly, offering the ultimate place to enjoy a cold beer and a platter of seafood as the sun dips into the bay. It was too cold for us; we hope to make it back here in the spring with warmer weather. The menu at Happy Harbor is rooted in Maryland tradition but isn't afraid to have a little fun. We started with the creamy Maryland crab dip; it is served bubbling hot with toasted baguette slices. It's rich without being cloying, anchored by sweet, fresh lumps of crabmeat that remind you how close you are to the source. Next, we had the steamed blue crabs. Steamed to order, they arrived fragrant, steaming, and perfectly seasoned--the hallmark of a place that knows its craft. My wife went with the grilled rockfish sandwich--local to the Bay and cooked to perfection--which arrived simply dressed with lettuce, tomato, and a smear of house-made tartar sauce on a soft brioche roll. It's the kind of straightforward, fresh preparation that showcases confidence rather than flash. I went with the Captain's Combination Platter, a local favorite, offering a sampler of crispy fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, and a generous portion of hand-cut fries. It's hearty, unpretentious comfort food that's as much about the experience as the flavors. You can pair your meal with a craft beer from a regional brewery or a signature crush cocktail--the orange crush was my choice. As far as the service, Happy Harbor is friendly and efficient, with staff who genuinely seem to enjoy the rhythm of the place. Our server was engaging and quick with recommendations and even quicker with refills, striking just the right note between laid-back and attentive. Happy Harbor isn't chasing trends--it's celebrating tradition. It's a place where the seafood is fresh, the portions generous, and the mood somewhere between a family gathering and a dockside festival. Whether you're a local returning for your favorite crab dip or a traveler discovering the simplicity of a Maryland summer meal by the water, Happy Harbor delivers a quintessential Chesapeake experience.
