Drew does a nice job on his projects and is highly committed to his customers. He brought our mid-century Broyhill Sculptra china cabinet back to life and did so with plenty of communication about our preferences on finishes and issues encountered, etc. Overall we're happy with the result. He is a very knowledgable and friendly guy. I was encouraged by his strong interest in the history of our piece and how it may have been constructed or refinished in the past. Once he started in on the refinishing, his work was very thorough. Since the cabinet has glass doors and displays dishes, he needed to sand and refinish the inside shelves and walls as well as the outside, and he completely took apart the door frames, installed new glass, and shored up the hardware. Being an older piece, the doors had some challenges with closing and always seemed a bit flimsy before the job, but after Drew's work they feel much more robust (in addition to looking great). I'm sure that working with these fragile doors was challenging and appreciate the care Drew took to get them and the inside finishes right. When we got to the finishing stage, Drew found a good solution for testing finishes in an area of the piece that wasn't visible and sent several pictures to help us preview and select the final finish. He made several helpful suggestions along the way about which finishes might look best. In the interest of full transparency, Drew quoted our job at 4-9 weeks and $1400 (we had another refinisher quote us the same price but with extra for delivery fees, so Drew's quote seemed fair). He turned the piece around in about 8 weeks and at the quoted price. He seems to have quite a few customers and due to other project obligations, he probably didn't start in earnest on our job until about week 6, so keep in mind that depending on conditions your project could end up on the long end of his range. This wasn't an issue for us, though, as Drew was very responsive and gave us regular updates on project and expected delivery timeline. Lastly, I think Drew's delivery methods could be improved a bit - transport is on a trailer that looks susceptible to some movement and bumpiness. One of our glass doors has a small and not very noticeable scratch that I'm guessing happened at some point in transit. Goes with the territory and certainly doesn't change our overall positive view of Drew's business, but an area where an upgrade may be warranted in the future. read more

Drew is truly an artist. He repaired a family heirloom chest in late 2022 and did beautiful work. It was a difficult project as he had to fabricate missing parts and blend them into the existing patina (the patina mattered to me). Moreover, he came to our home to pick up and drop off the piece, which was unexpected and most appreciated. My husband and I are in the process of furnishing our second home in NYC. I had a beautiful rustic wood, burlap upholstered Restoration Hardware wingback chair gifted from my parents. Unfortunately our dog, completely chewed off the right arm. I shopped around and couldn't encounter any wood worker in neither the metro Atlanta area or NYC tri-state area who was able to guarantee restoring the arm of the chair to a somewhat satisfactory condition. I was referred to Andrew years prior by a friend but thought he was too much of a distance away (Virginia) for me to have the chair moved from either NYC or Atlanta. Finally, the time arrived for us to figure out which furniture pieces we wanted to keep in our home in Atlanta vs what we wanted to move to our condo in NYC. That chair being one of those pieces, I called Andrew and sent him some photos of every angle of the chair including the damage. He assessed the photos and immediately called to speak in detail. He explained to me what technique he'd use to restore the chair. And didn't make any promises, but told me he'd restore it to the best of his ability and that no one would notice the difference upon immediate glance of our chair. On our way to nyc on 8/22/20 we stopped in Virginia and dropped it off in the garage. He again explained to us exactly what he was going to do. Gave us an invoice (didn't retrieve any money from us upfront) and asked us to pick up within a week. Through out the process of repair (exactly one week) he sent me numerous pictures and videos of each phase of the repair explaining what he was doing. When he sent me the final photo, it was finer than We'd expected! But I couldn't wait to see it in person (pictures sometimes lie) When we arrived to pick up the chair on 8/29/20 MY HUSBAND & I HONESTLY COULDN'T REMEMBER WHICH ARM WAS DAMAGED. (We had to look at the photos we'd sent him) THE ARMS WERE IDENTICAL. THE WOODEN DISTRESSED & DETAILS WERE IDENTICAL. ((((HE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION))))) and that's an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!! He even repaired corners that had small damages,,and blended the stain in through out the entire chair. I WAS AMAZED!!!!! His price was both reasonable and affordable! I have since given Andrew a list of custom furniture pieces I'd like him to design and build for me and told him, I'll be a pain in the rare end, constantly calling to have him build/repair furniture and decor for my home. Andrew is a man of many talents, furniture repair being just one of them. Engage him in conversation and it is a fascinating experience that could go on for hours if only he weren't in such great demand! I had a problem with a lid on my secretary desk not closing properly. Andrew solved the problem in just a few minutes, pointing out that my floor was slightly uneven and was throwing off the square of my cabinet. Shimming the rear leg on one side solved the problem. No power tools, sanding, or replacing of hinges were necessary. Three other local places I contacted told me that was most likely going to be needed. Drew made the visit to my home, trailer in tow, in case he needed to transport the desk back to his studio. Not necessary. And to top it all off, he didn't want to charge me. I insisted. This was my first time having anything restored and in my case it was two dining room chairs that needed some love. I had a broken dresser which was damaged during my recent move. Two of the legs were broken and along with the board at the bottom.
