Came here for brunch while visiting family in the area. This place is a local favorite, you can tell they have a lot of repeat customers. The atmosphere is patriotic southern-casual, and very laid back! The prices are very good for the amount of food you get. I HAD to order biscuits with chocolate gravy because you can not get them where I live and I missed it. They were fantastic! The service was great, very attentive. Our server, Alyssa, catered to our every need and was very friendly! The owner was very friendly and I hope she never closes this Cabot gem!When I'm back in town visiting family I will be sure to pay a visit to support this great establishment! read more

We went to Cheryl's diner for Mother's Day, we were going to give it a shot. It was a little busy and we were asked to put our name on a list. We were told we could provide a phone number and wait in our vehicle, we'd be called when our table is ready. I gave my number and went we went to my truck in the parking lot and waited. People kept showing up and waiting outside on tables. Suddenly the people who arrived after me were being seated. More than one group. We walked in and obviously we were upset. The woman behind the counter, the same one that took our name to begin with asked if we were on the list, and not to look at her that way. I look at the list, 5 names after mine had been scratched out. Mine still as plain as day still there on the list with my number. I told her we'd been waiting and she had sat 5 other tables that came in after us. She replied I thought I sat you...really, then why is my name still on the list not scratched out when obviously the 5 names after me had been. She looked around and found a 6 top table open and said we could sit there, mind you there are only 2 of us. At this point I was uncomfortable and didn't want to risk eating there so we decided to leave and go else where. I don't know if the people sat before me were regulars or part of a club I don't know about, but a good way not to get another regular is to provide poor service. So I'm sure it'll be years before I even attempt to try Cheryl's again. read more

Owner Cheryl (at breakfast) acts like a drunk person in a bar. She yelled loudly across the Diner about a customer paying who happened to be a fan of Alabama. She motioned to slap his face. She gets in the face of babies and "baby talks" them making fun of the parents. Ok let me just start off by saying some of the previous reviews helped me pick this place. My friend and I were given menus very quickly. It's not a huge menu but what they offer all looked super yummy. We decided to go with "the porker" 2 eggs, a fried or grilled pork chop, hash browns of fried potatoes, toast or biscuit and gravy. We each got different things so we could try each others. Well they did not disappoint. The food was delicious!!!! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because I needed a box and sat there for 15 minutes waiting for our waitress to come back to our table. Granted they were getting busy when we were finished. But she never even glanced our way for a while. This place is usually good and we've frequented quite a bit. But this last visit was a terrible experience. We got there at 12:45. They were already cleaning up to close (they close at 2?). I ordered the sourdough melt and the person i was with ordered a BLT. Pretty simple to make. There was like 5 people there. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out. There were people who got there after us who had their food come out 15-20 minutes before ours. When it came out, our fries were incredibly cold and over cooked to the point where you could slam it on the table and it wouldn't break. The BLT had one piece of a bacon and came on regular wheat bread (said on the menu that it would come on texas toast) and was not very good. Our poor waitress felt so bad and apologized profusely. If this were my restaurant, I would have waived our ticket but they still expected us to pay full price. Ridiculous. Our waitress was talking to the owner (i'm assuming) about our meal and apparently they had already starting cleaning the kitchen. It was 12:45. Even if that was true that is ridiculous. You do not clean like that with patrons still in the restaurant ordering food! It was obvious they just wanted to get off work. Absolutely ridiculous. We will not be going back. Save your time and money and go elsewhere with better breakfast and better food and better service. read more

Disappointed in our meal. Service was outstanding and very friendly. The country fried steak was not made at Cheryl's. The veggies were good, but the meat was not what would be expected from a home cooking restaurant. The peach cobbler helped save the meal. We had the worst breakfast in years. The French toast had a terrible taste. The sausage was burned to point wouldn't even give it to a dog. The fried tators, scrambled eggs were just as inedible.
