Completely screwed up my forearm. Let me start this review by saying I created an account just to write this. I asked for a simple mandala and the owner, Robbie, couldn't pull it off without shaky lines, shoddy shading, and an incoherent attempt at symmetry. The Buddha piece below the mandala was done at True West Tattoo in SLO, a shop which I highly recommend and deeply regret not going to, instead of settling. This is a store that hangs the classic tattoo slogan "A good tattoo isn't cheap and a cheap tattoo isn't good" Except in this case, a good tattoo was neither cheap nor good, this scar cost me 160 dollars. I know how to take care of tattoos, I've had plenty and they've all healed perfectly, this is poor craftsmanship and Robbie, if you're reading this, I'd like a refund. The only reason this wasn't a 1 star review was because one of the artists who happened to be there at the time was kind enough to offer to pick me up a red bull while she was out at the gas station down the road. Absolute hands-down 5 star from me-- Mama Bear! I took my daughter in for a nose-ring as a gift from her daddy and I for her 17th birthday and I was seriously SO happy with the service and professionalism we were gifted with. My daughter has a SERIOUS fear of needles, so this was a big thing for her-- but Johhny (sp?) was so super cool, patient, and kind with her! She helped keep my daughter calm by explaining everything she was going to do, step-by-step, fully, and in detail. She repeated important things to remember and even gave us her cell number in case we had any questions or concerns! I love it! I can't say anything about their tattoos because we've only been there for piercings, but for piercing, I absolutely recommend them! Aside from Johnny, the rest of the staff was super nice and chill. this place blows. the owner (robbie i believe) is a creep (+ messed up a friend's very basic linework tattoo) and the artist that did a flash tattoo on me severely messed it up... he shaded the wrong color and tried to cover it up (unsuccessfully), shaky linework, and overall i've seen far better tattoos done by apprentices. it's aged terribly in the last six months in spite of proper aftercare. shayla is great this does not apply to shayla. read more

Cheyla is amazing! She gave me the only two tattoos I have (for now) and I'm in love with them. My first experience coming here was when my husband and I were looking for a place to do some matching wedding tattoos for us. We had been to other places locally, but weren't impressed with their customer service. We popped into Cherry Blossom on a whim and got talking to Cheyla, who was super sweet and kind and listened to what we were looking for. The tattoos were super important to my husband and I, so we wanted them to be done right and to be done with love. Cheyla did just that. She took the kitsune and wolf design my husband had made, added her own touch, and oh, the result was amazing. The whole process of getting the tattoo was amazing as well. Cheyla made sure to check in on me during the process and helped to ease my nerves of getting my first tattoo. It was such a great experience, I came back a couple of years later to get my second tattoo, a beautiful watercolor leaf and Japanese Kanji for "kitsune," which she designer for me. I had heard some rumor recently that people complained the artists at this shop aren't friendly, and that is total bull. I've had two tattoos done by Robbie, and one done by Tyler and they both were absolutely awesome. Robbie designed the tattoo that was in honor of my dog that had passed and couldn't have been more compassionate about it. I loved the design he came up with and the colors that were chosen. I don't find many body art establishments in which I feel calm, comfortable, and surrounded by friendly people. For me, this is the only shop (especially in SLO county) in which all of my expectations have been exceeded. Johnette, the piercer, is the sweetest, most gentle, professional, and well experienced piercer I have ever met. I do not go to any other piercer, because they aren't her. She has done 8 dermals, 2 nose rings, a belly ring, 4 cartridge piercings, and clean-ups and new dermal tops for me and I could not have been happier. This is my go to girl, I am even going back to her when I come back to the area since I now live 4 hours away. Cheyla, a tattoo artist there, matches the same qualities as Johnette. Cheyla has now done 2 tattoos for me, 1 cover up on my shoulder and hand tattoos, and she is a absolutely fantastic. With these two power girls I am set.
