My friend and I decided to take Linda's intro. class @ Green Spirit and loved the experience. We were introduced to quick and easy raw recipes that are not only healthy but tasted great and left excited to make these on our own. If you are considering a raw food diet, I highly recommend checking out Green Spirit.

You take these Blessed Herbs, well, herbs (in capsule form) and take some powders to help cleanse your colon, over the whole course of the 11 days. I have to say, my absolute favorite part was Linda's food and juice. The green juice she gave us as part of the cleanse was UNBELIEVABLE. It's made on a Norwalk juice press (which I find very exciting), which extends shelf life, preserves quality, and eliminates the pulp/foam that makes my homemade juices taste yuck-o after a few hours. Linda's raw food meals were out of this world. In particular, her veggie burger. I don't know what it's made of - I'm sure the recipe is a secret - but DANG. The. most. satisfying. raw food meal I have ever eaten. (Superlatives 100% genuine.) I could wax poetical about the amazing food at Green Spirit living for days. In fact, all my waxing poetical inspired my friend to purchase a week of raw food (Chef's choice) from Green Spirit. But I also need to mention the price. Linda's pricing is very competitive in the raw food prepared meals space. Raw food prep is expensive both in time AND in ingredients, so my hat is off to her for keeping her prices so reasonable. Relatively low overhead helps, I'm sure (Green Spirit is not a restaurant space). tl;dr: I love Green Spirit Healthy Living. It's totally worth it.

N J's Grocery - I say skip the Lunch Specials and go for the Indian instead! Microwave for your use is back in this area though.

The selection isn't huge as they have a smaller footprint but we found pretty much everything we needed in this small town market. Candy, Sprite, and s'mores fixin's for my little cousin, blueberries and oatmeal for my grandma, beer for my husband and uncle, frozen soft pretzels and mustard for my aunt, brats making sausage and peppers for the group for my mom, and Moomers ice cream and cans of Bubly for me. Prices were decent, especially for a smaller market, and they had a surprising amount of locally made goods. Produce selection was a little small (we had to go into Sutton's Bay to get oranges, for example) but all pantry items we needed were easy to find. The shop, because it's small, makes checking out a little challenging when there are more than a few folks in there. At one point my mom and I were looking at the ice cream selection and a line of about 4 people filed behind us. We didn't realize the coolers were adjacent to the second cash register! Navigating out was a challenge but everyone was very kind about it. Admittedly, though I read the amazing reviews for their Indian eats, we did not get any. But I'm definitely game to try it out next time.
