I was a bit disappointed with the changes to their classic signature hot chocolate. It tasted plain and unsweetened, and the signature flavor I loved seems to have changed or gone. It became similar to any other hot chocolate you buy at gas stations. However, I really enjoyed the chocolate marshmallow pop. it was perfectly gooey and sweet! They also had some great deals during Black Friday night. The service was a bit slow, but I can understand since it was a busy night. The atmosphere was still nice, but the restroom being permanently inaccessible is quite inconvenient. read more

Everything looks so good and unique. Coffee, ice cream and chocolate. I only got chocolate so I will comment on the chocolate. They have unique flavors, that you don't see anywhere else. They are also expensive though. Did the math, truffles is about double the price from store bought or chain chocolate shop. I know it is hand made and they have different flavors but I can't tell a difference. It is worth a try if you are nearby. Or just get ice cream and drinks. Those looks good too. read more

I think Willy Wonka would approve of this chocolate factory. I have tried their hot chocolate and a few of their decadent chocolate covered nuts. I recently decided to try their brownie and I was blown away. I am constantly trying to find the most consistently balanced brownie (addition to other sweets lol) and I'm also picky! So that says a lot - check them out! read more

Friendly clean shop: I stopped in for possible ice cream and/or chocolates. Decided to get boutique chocolates. Each regular piece or truffle was $2.99 and larger turtles and items $3.99. Took home a selection of turtles: habanero, lavender, dark, milk, and maple. These have been fabulous. I am very pleased but prices for seem to be a bit high. This, however, is consistent with elevated Post-pandemic inflated prices (unsure what cost of quality cocoa is), and I am sure labor costs. There was limited seating inside and location is a cool one-way street with unique small shops but limited parking. read more

We went strictly for the monster shakes as seen on Facebook and they didn't disappoint!! My kids were so excited to see the girls making the shake, coating the rim of the cup with sprinkles, scooping the ice cream, pouring the colored glaze in the cup, every step of the way! The people that work there care about the products you can tell. They also were very helpful and told me they could split one shake into 2 cups (just pay extra for toppings) which was perfect for my two little ones!! I also ordered an Affogato which wheeee gave me some energy!! I usually don't drink Espresso. I enjoyed how the coffee froze into the ice cream! We even picked up some treats for a neighbors birthday while there. When you need a good treat, served up by good people, go here!! read more

Such a quaint shop with many different types of treats. Bought some truffles for our Christmas Eve dinner. The staff was great!

My husband and I came to an event here not long ago and just fell in love with their treats and the awesome owners, Cherri and her daughter.  We just had to come back to Kalamazoo to get some of their tasty treats.  So we saved a little and on October 30th we made a special trip to come back here and also try a few other local spots we've never been to. I love caramel so I obviously gravitated towards those.  I chose 2 milk chocolate turtles for $3.50 each and my husband grabbed a peanut butter brownie which was also $3.50.  We chatted a bit with Ashley (Cherris daughter) about the event that was about 2 weeks ago and how much fun it was. I ended up saving the turtles for a Halloween treat for me and my best friend. My best friends comment and I loved the addition of the salt on top. We enjoy a good salted chocolate and salted caramel so it was a nice addition to the standard turtle. If you're looking for handmade sweets from some sweet ladies come on into their shop- you will not be disappointed. read more

Perfect place for a date night or an afternoon coffee date. Came with my four kiddos in tow and felt a little like a . The ambiance is gorgeous! Fun, eclectic, and a little bit fussy ...but just a little bit. It wouldn't feel terribly stuff if it weren't for the two year old wanting to climb on everything. Shakes were amazing ! Get the apple cider shake and thank me later. I'm not even the biggest cider fan and this was fantastic! Also got some truffles to go. Delicious! Mexican hot chocolate truffle was amazing! Service was patient and so friendly! My kids would beg for this monthly if it were local. read more

First off lol amazing chili, I must admit I actually went there to sample chili, but somehow left with chocolates! How could I not? With such rich flavors, many choices, and did I see monster shakes? I did! Well, that was gone before I even took a picture! The tea selection is wonderful too! Plus the atmosphere lures you in along with the sweets and the even sweeter staff! read more

How this profile does not have a full five star rating is beyond me ! The service is quaint, quiet, and focused. The ambiance is whimsical. I feel like I'm in a chocolate shoppe where everyone knows each other's names. It is a place of wondrous creations; delicious chocolates that melt just perfectly over your tongue. Fantastical gift chocolates. Refreshing and Sweet-Tooth satisfying drinks. A gourmet experience ~ read more

Too busy only I was the only customer. The ice cream I order was awful. Don't bother asking for use of the restroom it's out of order much like the service. 2nd time customer wanted to give them another chance at service but this time 3 people were busy making chocolates. I want to like this place I came to spend money they are disappointing both service and product. You don't want to service ice cream get rid of the bar. read more

Cherri's is incredible. They have anything your sweet tooth (or caffeine headache) might need (or want). The chocolate is amazing, the drinks are delicious and the decor is trendy and charming. Whether on a date or taking kids out for a treat, you have to try Cherri's! read more

Wow, what a chocolate lovers dream. I had visited before they moved and I enjoyed their Carmel chocolate. But wanted to try their new menu items -milk shakes and taco sundaes. This new location is much larger, spacious and bright. You have to try them! Oh boy are they're shakes and taco sundaes delicious and you won't get the over powering sweetness taste either, you'll be able to finish the items. Every month they have 3-4 different specials of the month. You'll want to try them all! The milkshake I got was S'more. I choose the chocolate malt ice cream or could choose the dark chocolate ice cream. They then added whipped cream to the top, graham crackers and a roasted s'more, with spoons and a straw. I also tried the Chocolate to Death Taco Sundae! Again, they have only 4-5 to choose from but they all sounded delicious. Taco Sundae was a taco shaped cone dipped in chocolate and included 3 scoops of dark chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, crunched Oreos, and sprinkles and spoons :) I was skeptical for the "dark chocolate ice cream" because dark chocolate is bitter but the ice cream was not bitter at all! It just tasted like chocolate, and not overall sweet either. Overall, service was genuinely amazing and fast! During this pandemic they did require face masks and offered hand sanitizers when you first walked in. read more

What an absolute gem!!! You will not regret a stop in -it's a beautiful setting. Lovely cabinets large glass panes to view the magic and chocolate everywhere!! The staff was friendly and welcoming. Very cheerful and attentive without being intrusive. They were busy multi tasking ie making delicious turtles but made me feel like I was the most important person they had all day. I ordered the monster turtle shake. It is over the flipping top good-no good is not good enough-it was exquisite. They cut no corners. The dark chocolate milkshake has large pieces of toasted pecan mixed, the insides of the cup were drenched with chocolate and caramel. It was the perfect consistency where you can't go wrong using a straw or a spoon. The mound of fresh whipped cream was probably 3 -4 inches above the rim of the cup and was drizzled with chocolate and more home made caramel sauce. It was studded with giant whole candied pecans, a chocolate flourish and their signature chocolate turtle. Even the rim of the cup was delightfully coated frosting the dipped in chocolate sprinkles . They had so much more to offer. Hot chocolate bombs, Halloween themed chocolates, chocolate dipped cookies and a host speciality marshmallows. Something for every sweet tooth. read more

Cherri's Chocol'art - Monster Turtle Shake - Chocolatiers & Shops Near Me - Kalamazoo, Michigan

I visited this place while exploring the Kalamazoo Mall. It's a nice little shop. They are currently moving and I can't wait to explore the new location. I love chocolate and I would say I am a huge chocolate snob because it matters to me how it taste, the cost, and how it is made. I tried the Salted Milk Chocolate, Bourbon Honey Comb Chocolate, and the Chocolate Peanut Cluster. The Salted Milk Chocolate was decent. I kind of wish it had more salt if that makes sense. The Bourbon Honey Comb chocolate was good. The Chocolate Peanut Cluster was nice and it was the perfect amount of salty and sweet that I was looking for from the Salted Milk Chocolate but didn't get. My partner tried it as well and had never had a Chocolate Peanut Cluster before and enjoyed it. Cost: It was kind of pricey for pieces. Most of the pieces are $2.50 or $3.50. Which a lot of people don't seem to have a problem with but I can see that adding up and for 3 pieces we sent $8. Atmosphere: The shop is cute, although, they are moving. It was nicely displayed. It was cool to see all the different types of chocolate. It was friendly inside. Overall: I will give this place 4 stars. I love the different varieties of chocolate. There was a mix of milk and dark chocolate. It was nice to see lots of different types of treats. I will be going back to try some other things. Might update this review after that. read more

Cherri's Chocol'art - The salty malty - Chocolatiers & Shops Near Me - Kalamazoo, Michigan

Cute spot. Hot chocolate was good quality. Always have seasonal drinks which are great.

If I weren't already over the moon in love with this place, the addition of monster shakes and ice cream tacos definitely would seal the deal! Cherri's has always been a local favorite business on the mall, but the relocation to the larger space has been such a boon to their business as they've expanded into so many additional delicacies with the extra square footage. They now have a hot chocolate bar area where they also serve espresso drinks and decadent affogatos. They've also added an ice cream station and they rotate through the most instagramable, exquisite monster shakes each month and have recently added gigantic ice cream taco sundaes. My partner and I didn't blink twice at dropping $10 for one of these decadent confections. Frankly, it's the best thing that's been done with Hamilton since Lin-Manuel Miranda made a musical about him. Weather you're having a fun friend day or a date night, you're going to find something magical to share here. And if you're on your own, even better -- you don't have to share the wealth! Be sure to try the turtles with the house-candied pecans. They're life changing! read more

Cherri's Chocol'art is a hidden little gem in Kalamazoo. My husband always stops in here once a month when he has meetings downtown to get chocolate treats for the family. Cherri is super friendly and it's fun to see the different treats available that day. Holiday shopping downtown Kalamazoo on a chilly Saturday calls for a stop at Cherri's Chocol'art for one of the most delicious hot chocolates in the area. It's smooth, it's creamy, it is to die for. Of course, I had to add one of their humongous home-made marshmallows on top. And there was no way I was leaving my favorite store without a couple of turtles and a rice krispy pop covered in chocolate. Best way to kick off the holiday season! read more

I sometimes cannot believe the rotten folks out there who would trash-talk a great business without recognizing what they're doing and why it's exceptional. Good God people, if you just want a bloody Kit Kat go to a damn drugstore and overpay for crapola. I came down to check out this awesome store, because I heard they make their chocolates by hand and are actually chocolatiers. That in and of itself is bloody rare -- but I was quite amazed at the spread and what they offered, including tasties like speciality malts and affrogotto, an Italian concoction of espresso over iced cream--- yumz! My hubby gave me a hand-painted chocolate chicken in my Easter basket, easily the best tasting thing in there -- and it came from this shop. Absolutely delicious chocolate, so creamy and well balanced. You get what you pay for. If you want dirt cheap chemical-coco, hie thee to a grocery checkout lane. You want delicious artisanal chocolate ? This is your place in Kalamazoo. read more

I've heard of Cherri's Chocol'art for a while now, but I had yet to try their decadent ways until last week. The chocolatier shop just recently settled in the the heart downtown Kalamazoo on Mall St. They're dangerously close to my office. Let me say, their chocolate is splendid. I got bourbon chocolate truffles and a chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel thing of awesome-ness. The counter person was super friendly and made great recommendations. Very European feeling. Nice employees serving ice cream and chocolates. The ice cream was more like a gelato. Rich and high fat content.

the store is beautiful inside and out, but the workers attitudes are disgusting. went in and looked around for a few minutes and asked the male cashier at the coffee bar if i could use the restroom they said yes, then when i came out of the restroom i have some old lady yelling at me saying i need to buy something to use the bathroom because they aren't a public restroom , so i proceeded to try and buy something and she told me to just take what i picked out and leave. I can't speak for all the items Cherri's sells, but let me please put in an earnest plug for her caramels. I know that this isn't technically the sort of sweet you expect from a chocolatier, but I have never, ever had such a fantastic salted caramel in my life. I've been to my fair share of places that sell caramel, from run of the mill candy stores, to more specialized boutiques in IL, CA, HI, and NY. Cherri's tops them all. So much so, that when I got home and tried my first one in full--I purchased based on a little sample in-store--I first kicked myself for not having bought MORE, and THEN I searched online praying I would discover they ship. The happy answer for me is that, yes, they do ship. So I will happily be able to enjoy these caramels in the near future, which was a lot sooner than I had planned to be back in K'zoo. I've seen some rather brutal one-star reviews on here attacking the establishment for customer service and price. As for the first, I didn't notice anything amiss. did I have a long, fakely personal conversation with staff as I perused? No. Even being a Midwesterner, I don't think customer service entails being saccharine. As for the second, I've had candy and desserts all across America and at wildly different price points. Perhaps Cherri's prices are a bit more in line with urban norms--aka, a bit pricier [but NOT "expensive" in my books]--however, I think some people on here are not used to how expensive prices can be and thus denigrate their items as a result. Prices are clearly listed next to the items; if you think they're overpriced, don't buy it. And certainly don't buy it if you seem set on complaining publicly on Yelp about how surprised you were, as if you couldn't see the items right in front of you before asking associates to take them out of the case for purchase. read more
