Went into to Chendo's on a Thursday to get an estimate for a headliner replacement for a 2010 Honda Civic. The price was going to be half of the cost of the estimates I have been getting. After months of reviewing (Yes even Yelp) and meeting with auto upholsterers I decided to go with Chendo's Upholstery. However, you never know what you are going to get. After being quoted an excellent price from Chendo I brought my Jeep Commander in for upholstery repair. Chendo completed the work efficiently while I waited. When I saw Chendo's finished work on my Jeeps drivers seat, I told him that it was excellent. However, I knew it had to pass an inspection by the "Boss" (aka: "my wife"). The "Boss" examined it very carefully while I was holding my breath. After her inspection, she exclaimed that Chendo's work was "Fantastic". The "Boss" said the drivers side seat was new again! She couldn't believe her eyes on what she saw. The "Boss" then lamented and asked me why I hadn't had the seat repaired sooner. She said Chendo's workmanship makes the whole car look newer. Of course, I took credit in finding Chendo and picking out the right fabric. I hope Chendo doesn't mind. Now the "Boss" insists that I get the front passenger seat repaired. The front passenger seat was not nearly as bad as the driver's seat, but it had some "stretched" stitching. The "Boss" spoke and I knew what to do. This time I didn't have to do any research. I went straight back to Chendo. Again, while I waited, Chendo performed his artistic magic and in no time I had a new front passenger seat. All I can tell you is that the upholstery work was "Boss" approved. This is a long way of telling everyone, if you need automobile upholstery repaired or replaced, don't waste your time like I did checking out all the car upholstery businesses. GO SEE CHENDO!! I think you will agree with me that you can't do better than the workmanship, price quotes and the finished product. I wish I had more work for him to do. I love the transformation from "old" to "new". However, I am telling everyone I know to see Chendo for any interior auto repairs or complete replacement. Credit should be given when credit is due! Chendo you made my day! I had Chendo do my headliner in my work vehicle and he did a great job! Other places were asking nearly four times the price and had excuses that they needed to order the material and it was backordered due to supply chain issues etc etc blah blah blah! visited his shop and he immediately told me a price that was almost 75 percent off what other people/shops have quoted me. Drove up about two months ago (June 15th) to get a qoute to replace my driver side panel door that has peeling vinyl. Was given a reasonable quote and told to come back in two weeks for the service. Returned in two weeks (July 5th) and was told that "we are busy at the moment and won't be able to assist you for 3 weeks. Waited another 3 weeks (August 7th) and once again returned trying to support a small business and was told it would be another two weeks and that I should maybe find someone else to do the work. My impression is that the owner did not want to do the work or did not want to stick to the original quote given. I would not recommend Chendo's Upholstery as you will get excuse after excuse at the business does not honor their word. Very dissatisfied. I will gladly take my business and my money elsewhere. First off go to Francisco's don't go here if you're in Long Beach. Dropped off my truck at 10am I brought my own seat covers which are relatively easy to install. At 2 Pm I get a call saying the seat covers don't fit, so it took 4 hours to tell me the cover didn't fit?! Pretty much he just didn't want to finish the job but demanded I pay $125 for his work!! He was rude unprofessional, and bullied me into paying for his time. Do not ever, ever go near this place. I have a 1976 Ford LTD that needed a bit of restoration work on the upholstery. He was very understanding when I had to cancel my initial appointment with him due to the car having mechanical issues and graciously rescheduled. I was able to find the appropriate vinyl for Chendo and have him do the labor and seat fill. I brought my 2002 Mustang here for a quote to reupholster the leather seats. The previous owner took great care of the car's engine, but the leather had clearly been neglected. Chendo reupholstered both front seats in a leather that is so close that no one would guess that it's not the original color. His price was very competitive and his work was excellent.
