This place is family owned, been owned by the looks of it for years, I went for because of a referral to fix a 2015 Durango. The owner is a really nice guy and you can tell his kids are the same, real nice and friendly to their clients. But that could only take ya so far once one issue becomes another, and then another. I went for a busted AC pump, that turned into a "punctured radiator" then my ac never blew cold , but warm and hot on one side...that was the hoses foult because you know "these cars" then went for an oil change and ..that turned into my remote start not working and after I asked the owner why if it worked when I brought it ..I get the "no seee no seee and elbow shrug.." I sad ok...never again man. In good terms left. Went to another spot for an oil change ...dude said the bolt to stripped go back and take it to the dude that did the change...I went by force not because I wanted to....and he said no, not him wasn't him but he can fix it at the end of the week...and then we will cut ties for ever...like he broke up with me but I had already moved on ya know? ... In short..he's a cool dude but for some reason can't hold his mechanics accountable, and or trains them , keeps them up to date with the cars systems. I say go in check it out but for me, being nice and not holding your work accountable isn't a place to do business. read more

Very friendly. I thought I could trust them, but they lied to me and said my head gasket was cracked when all it was was needed spark plugs. I almost gave them six thousand dollars to fix it. Also I just found out that they switched my batteries and gave me an old walmart battery because one day my battery died, and when I went to take it to autozone, because I had a warranty, it wasn't even the battery that it was originally in my car.Please do not trust this place read more

Either Are not trained well and incompetent Did not repair my car Properly my car broke down about 20 times in years each time I brought it in it lasted a few weeks before re breaking down over and over and over and over and over and over and over Unfortunetly I trusted chendo and Threw away several thousands as soon as I took it to another mechanic They. Properly repaired my. SUV And said The engine was not properly maintained had to drain motor oil all fluids. Said all fluid levels were filthy dirty Parts I paid chendo to install Needed to be replaced. This place like other mechanic shops will rip off any customer they can especially females and they will tell you they do something when in reality they don't do it they try something is wrong with your car but it really isn't my sister-in-law had to heater hoses that could be removed and replaced and no longer than 30 minutes and they charged her $700 a couple weeks later her car does the same thing overheating just trying to tell her it's the head gasket and she needs to replace broken heads they can fix it for about $3,000 or more be careful or you take your car too you may want to get a second opinion and I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone when I went to explain to the owner he told me he how to replace some parts and when I checked those parts are still the same ones that it originally had he never touched that area of the vehicle I am reporting him to better Business bureau to not be a victim. I went to Chendo's about 3 weeks ago to get my Chevy S10 brake and light inspection. I was running late, driving through Los Angeles traffic. I showed up approximately 30 minutes before closing. I told one of the guys there my situation, and he actually stayed past closing time to take a look at my truck. The owner seems really nice and honest genuine owner. My only gripe is that maybe they need a little bit better advertisement. Hence yelp. It took me a long time to find a break and light inspection in my area. The first guy went to was really impractical and I would never go there again. I found Chendo's and the people that work there seem really genuine and honest. Me and my wife were on the way to Los Angeles when I noticed that car was over heating so needless to say I pulled over and got off the freeway. I am glad that I did even though I didn't know at the time. Likely I have AAA so I used their service to have my car towed to nearest AAA approved repair shop. Once we were at the shop, mechanics didn't waste any time going over what is wrong with the car. I was informed that repair job will have to store on Monday, we were there Saturday plus it will take few days. We were at lost when Ben offered us their shop loaner car for as long as we needed. I had my car repaired at another Auto shop and had my skepticism about them doing job right they told me various reason as to why the issue was not there before the problem started and could not explain to me why it is different after they claimed the problem is fixed. I want honest and trustworthy opinion that no safety system was bypassed by them. So to ensure that my problem is fixed. I referred to my AAA membership and Uncle's Angie's list ... This mechanic is a huge rip off. They try to make it seem like they want to help you, but they instead rank up the price on labor for simple labor tasks. I will never come here again. They charge around 37$ just to look at your car. Replacements of simple parts costs over 60$ of labor! A waste of hard earned money to dishonesty. read more

Very nice BUT I paid too much money unnecessarily. I told them what I suspected the problem was. They said they'd run the diagnostic and get back to me. They called me and said the problem was in fact what I suspected. Since this was under warranty at another auto repair I had this fixed at last year, I had to have my car towed there so it could be repaired. After paying for the diagnostic and towing, it turns out the problem was completely different from what Chendo's said it was. I paid that money for NOTHING. If they found the real problem I would have had them fix it without paying more money to have it towed. I have no idea what diagnostic they ran or what they looked at since they were wrong. So much wasted money. I was towed their because they're a partner with AAA. I wish I would have had time to check reviews but I was on the freeway with a car that wouldn't start and I didn't have time to look up the auto repair places the tow truck driver offered. 5/17/15 Brought my 1979 Mercedes in due to a hard brake issue, I suggested it is probably my vacuum but owner stated he checked it and instead put a new booster. I should of listened to my instinct and felt they did not know how a Diesel engine worked and could not even tell me the specs on how much vacuum pressure should be. Gave the owner a chance to figure it out. When I got the car back and half way down the road had same problem and needed to get it towed but did not bring it back to Chendo auto center. My brother and I trouble shooted it ourselves and all along needed a new vacuum pump. Beware of this place,,, I lost my money.... read more

I took my Honda there because it overheated. This man tried to rip me off. He said it was a head gasket and that the repair cost was 1,100.00 and recommended replacing the timing belt at the same time- his total estimate was 1,600. ( i might as well have bought a new motor for that price) I declined and paid him the 35.00 diagnosis fee. I called around and was quoted estimates around 500 dollars for head gasket repair. I took my car in to a different auto service and over the phone my estimate was 478 dollars, possibly more for the service (sounded better then 1,600 ) When i picked up my car I paid 478 for the head gasket AND timing belt. ( i also paid 35 for some bands that needed to be replaced) Chendo Auto Center is NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Chendo auto center price was more then $1,000 of the price i paid. My car runs great again. Please do your homework make a few calls before handing over your hard earned cash to this guy. BEWARE. read more
