As soon as he walked in and looked at our floors we could tell that he has a sense of artistry that informs his work and takes it to the next level. We have oak floors with walnut inlay and it was very important to us that we bring them back to their original beauty. They were badly stained and damaged in multiple areas, and Dan took note of all of it and made recommendations for repairs. His prices are fair and he's a magician with floors. I keep looking at the before and after photos and am astounded every time! He always showed up when he said he would, was respectful of our home, and when we found a couple spots that needed to be fixed, he came back and fixed them in no time. When it came to stain options, we did not have a wide variety of options, but we followed Dan's suggestions and he steered us right every step of the way. I highly recommend Irish Pride and will certainly hire them for any maintenance work we need done on our floors in the future.

The prices were in the range of what we were expecting from other estimates for quality work. The Hudson Hardwood team (special thanks to Marcos) were both flexible and prompt and in staging the work in two steps: refinishing the existing floors and installing the new herringbone. We are super pleased with the results of the refinishing, and the newly installed white oak in a herringbone pattern is marvel to look at.

The salesman, Ira, came to my house with a collection of samples that I was able to look at against my current decor so I could see if colors matched and looked good in any lighting. The pricing was FANTASTIC compared to other flooring companies we had spoken to. (Do not believe those ads on TV!). The gentleman was also very very knowledgeable about the floor, wear and tear, stain removal, up-keep, etc. He was not a young, pushy salesman, he had clearly been in the flooring business for a very long time and was very helpful. MOST IMPORTANTLY, he didn't rush us or try to sell-sell-sell! Ira sat with us an chatted about the traffic in the room, and how messy our kids are, and we really enjoyed his company and his conversation. He was very funny and quite possibly the nicest salesman I have ever met. I highly recommend this company, it has a very great old fashioned, get-to-know-ya feeling to it, and the PRICES were LOWER than any other flooring company we spoke to! ...... oh and, of course, the carpeting came out great! We've had it for a few months now and it looks beautiful!

Let me share an exceptionally odd experience with this company. I was visiting from out of town to…read moreassist an elderly relative with the installation of a French drain to address a basement water issue. That process meant destroying old vinyl sheet flooring in two locations. I called Easton Flooring and Steve came out the same day to look at the work. He measured, we spoke about materials, the work, and that I would need a plumber to remove and reinstall the toilet, washer, and dryer. Each area was small; on the order of 50-60 square feet, but given that it looks unsightly and is a trip hazard, it has to be done. One area had some carpet rolled back that needed to be stretched and anchored. We had a great discussion, and Steve told me to expect an emailed bid in a few days. Later that day, I received the bid; about $3,300 for about 100 square feet of glue down vinyl planks. I thought that seemed high, so the next day I visited the showroom and met with Juan; Steve was off as it was a Saturday. I explained to Juan that we needed to lower our price and I asked about a floating floor. We chose a color that they had in stock, and Juan indicated that this approach should bring the cost down to about $2,000, give or take. Much more affordable for the elderly relative who owns the home. I was excited as I got the impression that these folks would do a great job. I called to schedule the work, couldn't get in touch with Steve. I had already explained that I wanted to schedule the job out a few weeks so I could be there to help my relative and to clean afterward. Several calls went unanswered by Steve. Spoke with Juan a couple times; he said Steve was the only one who could schedule. Finally heard from Steve via email that the price would be about $2,800, not around $2,000, even with the less costly material. Oh well, I'm sure it's more work than I imagined, prep and all. But still, he wouldn't schedule the work. I emailed again and asked point blank if there was some reason he didn't want the job and his response was that I should get someone else; he was not going to do the job for us. I'm flummoxed. We had a great meeting with him and he never mentioned that he wouldn't want the work. Maybe it is too small, maybe he holds an unspoken prejudice, maybe I did something that rubbed him the wrong way. No matter what, I've never been treated so unprofessionally in any dealing with a tradesman. I wasn't sure how many stars to mark; they have a nice showroom, and they seemed like nice people, but this whole thing left me feeling discriminated against and left my relative with a dangerous trip hazard floor situation. I can't recommend them.
