Then We both got the grilled Octopus and if you like this sort of seafood, then you will love this. I know people don't like the texture, so then you can try a steak or something. But this Octopus was very delicious. The mashed potatoes were a hit and the French fries were really good as well. Directly across from the Jaques Cousteau statue. The building is a charming renovated 100 year old building (very well done). We had drinks on the veranda overlooking the sea at sunset. Margarita was the best I have had in Cozumel and the view of the sunset from the veranda was great. We retired into the main restaurant for dinner . The food was on point. My wife had the grilled Mahi And I had the skirt steak. Both cooked just right and served with a side of salad,mixed veggies and potato. The service was professional and unhurried. Wine selection also very good. Price was very reasonable for this nice of a place. This was probably the best experience at a restaurant that we have had in Cozumel.

Starters, and drinks were great.....sadly that's where things went downhill big time. 3 of us ordered the Pescador entrees , (seafood & pasta in a salmon sauce). As soon as we started to chew we knew something was terribly wrong. Then we figured it out, the sauce was LADEN with fish scales!! Nobody could eat them so the waiter apologized and took them off the bill. Now the horrible part, hubby had chicken risotto. Then at 3 am was Violently ill with food poisoning. ( our next day Cozumel excursion had to be cancelled) After 2 phone calls to Fuego and them promising to have manager call me back I've given up and decided to post this review everywhere I can . Green mix in the tuna fish salad was not organic for sure. Arugula salad was very basic. Just a handful of arugula with some shred provolone and little sprinkle of pine nuts. They don't have the sea bass dish this particular Saturday evening. We then ordered the lobster and shrimp dishes, unfortunately, neither were fresh. Side veggies and everything else were pretty bland except very strong coconut oil taste. Service was unbelievably slow and lacking despite not many customers. The server asked us any food allergies to begin with, but then when I told him I do not want alcoholic beverages as I have alcohol intolerance, he seemed disappointed. No water refill without making multiple request. The hostess appear only attentive to males European patrons and was very impatient with us ladies. She even got annoyed when realize our reservation was made through OpenTable, which the link was from their website directly. Overall, I ended up canceling my other two evening reservations here. Going to try other restaurants on site. Btw, there're many wonderful options near the resort.

I order a glass of Malbec from Argentina- happy they had a decent wine selection as many places in Mexico only have good beer or tequila. For my entrée, I had bacon wrapped tiger shrimp on a bed of mashed potatoes. Yum!! Daniel had a lobster pasta dish and it was quite good too though I think we both preferred mine. The price was very reasonable - for 2 apps, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine it was $77 USD before tip. It would be nearly impossible to have that much for that price at a fine dining place here. The fried mushrooms were perfect, the fish ceviche was awesome, and the beef tongue was cooked beautifully. And don't be afraid of the grasshoppers--seriously. Yummy. Even ingredients I normally don't gravitate toward, like black beans, were used so thoughtfully that I enjoyed them. The drink pairings were equally impressive--tequila, beer, wine and espresso--and each one genuinely complemented the course it accompanied. We were basically the only guests that evening, and our waiter turned that into a wonderfully personal experience. He patiently answered every one of our many "American questions" about the ingredients, preparation and pairings, never making us feel rushed or out of place. A sincere thank-you to him, the cooks--who my partner and I gave a standing ovation to--and the entire team for making the evening so memorable. My one tiny suggestion? Cloth napkins.
