I even offered to pick him up--he refused. No backup plan, no service, no refund. Since then, he's completely ghosted me--no calls, no texts, nothing. He left us scrambling & kept our money. Absolutely unprofessional.

I attended a wedding in September 2022 which was to be catered by Elite Catering. In fact, I was helping with organization of this event. Here are some facts: - The caterer showed up an hour late for dinner service. This was challenging to overcome with a fairly precise order of events. - The caterer dropped off the food with a server who was on her first day and then left. The server did very well under the circumstances. - Five of the six dishes were incorrect. - The server let us know when about 50% of the guests had gone through the buffet line that she was out of food. The caterer had shorted us on food...at least 30 plates on 71 total. - The caterer, who was not present at the event, would not answer calls or texts for a long time. - We ended up rush ordering some pizza to feed the remaining guests. - The server was finally able to get ahold of the caterer and he offered to pay for the pizzas. He was apologetic. - The caterer showed up at the wedding at around 8:30 with more food. I told him to keep it as everyone had now eaten. Where was this food when we were having dinner? - The caterer agreed verbally to refund the bride and groom. He took a bunch of his rented equipment such as plates, cutlery and chafing dishes and left. - The next day, the bridal party had to clean up. The caterer did not show up to do this task or even help. He left several crates of glassware and a chafing dish behind which we had to remove and store as we had to vacate the venue. Still no call from the caterer. I should add that when the caterer said he would pay for the pizzas I had purchased, he did, eventually. It wasn't without threat of not getting his rented equipment back that he finally sent the remainder as he only had $100 cash on him that night. Apparently the bank "would only let him take out $100 cash" and he was going to e-transfer me the rest, which took 24 hours to complete. To cut this a little short, the bride and groom did finally receive a refund and Alexander was very apologetic. Which is fine. Accountability after the fact does not change the absolute shit-show of the wedding night. Never in my life have I seen such amateur behaviour from a supposed Chef. You may notice that I didn't refer to him as 'Chef' in this post. The title of Chef is an earned title. From years of training and education sacrificing of self to make a guest happy. After many years of working with professional Chefs, I have come to know that Chefs will not be happy unless everything is perfect. They will not go home until everything is clean. They will not allow guests to go hungry at a wedding. And finally, they will not keep their kitchen's is such disarray that the writer was forced to involve the Health Department in an inspection of the facility in which the meals were prepared because the absolute horror show of a kitchen could not go unreported. Professional Chefs would NOT keep their kitchen in a state that almost made the writer physically ill. And yes, I have pictures. In summary, if you're still with me thus far, I would recommend you find another caterer. Personally, I have used A Capella. They are great for small events and large events. They are going to be more expensive, but they will show up, they will bring food, and you won't get salmonella from their food.
