We tried the foul (fava beans), fatteh, lahm b ajin, fried eggs with tomato. All were delicious and made to perfection. When we're done eating, the server offered us a dessert on the house. It included halawit el jibn and ousmalieh in addition to riz b halib and jello. The place is not that large but it can probably fit about 100 people. Fairouz songs were playing in the background bringing back memories of homeland. It was a great experience. Will definitely come back again to try other items on the menu.

Servers are very nice and they kept check in. The ambiance is welcoming and they have nice murals around. Their "foul salad" is so good and very well seasoned. Unfortunately three of the items we wanted to try were not available (shrimp, brussel sprouts and baklava ice cream), so we had hummus, hummus with meat, and cauliflower, all excellent. Then came the two orders of kibbeh balls. These were the worst we have ever had. The kibbeh balls were overcooked and dry, so much so that we couldn't cut them with a knife or hold them with a fork. This left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Despite returning them, the owner agreed to not charge us for only one of the orders. Still, we had to pay for an order that we couldn't eat. Our main meal, grilled chicken and beef brochette, was dry and very overcooked. Another big disappointment. For desert, we had the Kanafeh with Pistachio Cream, and that was addictive and a great way to end an average meal. Will not be returning, except for coffee and desert.

The shish-taouk was good but I'll be honest, I've had better and if I'll come back it'll be for the calamari and maybe something else... perhaps the shwarma? My extended family knows of this place quite well over the years as they've all been here in past events for birthdays/weddings or special dinners at some point in their lives. My recent visit is nothing so exciting however and I brought some work colleagues with me to introduce them to this type of cuisine. Here's my opinion on the plates that we shared: Hummus : Excellent! (5 stars). This menu item tends to be prepared so differently in a variety of cuisines but the Armenian way... is the best way! :) Fattouch : Fantastic!!! (5+ stars). My favorite salad without a doubt and Rouby does it justice. The salad ingredients are fresh, the fried pita pieces crunchy (freshly prepped) and the dressing makes this dish really come together. Truly spectacular. Soujouk : Decent 3/5. Soujouk (or sujuk depending where you're from) is a dry, spicy sausage that I swear is always prepped different at every single restaurant that services it. Unfortunately, I wasn't overly fond with the version provided here, a bit too dry for my taste and the portion less than expected. Meat Plate : Good (3/5). We took a family plate which consisted of 1 stick of kafta, shish-taouk and filet mignon. The meats were good, I was especially fond of the filet mignon. The plate comes with a selection of salad or fries/rice. Service is friendly albeit a little standoffish. Good was prepared quickly and efficiently. The establishment is clean and well presented, our banquet table was comfortable. Overall the food is good, with some of my particular tastes showing clear bias in my opinion of them, some of the mezze plates are not as generous as they should be and this went in particular for the Soujouk which didn't fill out a full plate. I also regularly find plates of meat at Lebanese restaurants being quite overpriced. The meat plate which was close to $25 only held 3 sticks of meat and anyone knows we could get these at Adonis for about $2 to $3 dollars each. I would hope to see more generous portions in the meat plates but alas that challenges seems to be seen everywhere. Conclusion? Worthy of a taste, try it out and enjoy this cuisine.

I went with the Lahmajin which consist of a round, thin piece of dough topped with minced meat, minced vegetables and herbs including onions, tomatoes and parsley as well as the Za'atar manakeesh which consists of thyme, sesame seeds and the sumac spice. Both were fantastic! Why? Well, they prepared it right in front of me, popped it in the oven for a few minutes then rolled it up NICE AND WARM into my eager hands. The Za'atar was good, the Lahmajin was out of this world good. The price tag? About 2 bucks each... and they were pretty fulfilling. They sell packs of 6 for $10, this is a steal of a deal! I looked around while waiting and the prices were phenomenal. How is there not a line-up out of the door for this? There's even about 15 seats to enjoy your meal.... I think I found a joint I can visit at least once a week now. :)
