When I crave a good sandwich, nothing can stop me from getting it. It was brother-sister day and we…read moredecided on this place. Even though we usually sit down and enjoy a meal together, we just decided to get something quick. The location is super easy to get to and I've been in the vicinity too many times at Costco Business center and didn't even know this place even existed. Anyways, upon walking in.... The walls, furniture, and everything you can think of has someone's name or nickname written on it. They even began to write on the TV and the owners had to put a sign up saying not to write on the tv. I definitely laughed at that because who in their right mind would write on a tv, buuuuut they did smh. There are two different windows, one to order and one to pick up. I went to the order window and decided upon a steak and cheese with just mayo and lettuce and also an Italian. From the reviews I couldn't decide between the two so I got both lol. And I also got a slice of chocolate cake. The young man who took my order was very nice and we even laughed about how much I ordered.... For myself lol. While waiting for our food, we took a walk over to Burlington. We stayed over there for maybe 10-15mins and then walked back. Our orders were done probably about 5mins after we got back, if that. I sped all the way home because I could just smellllll my steak and cheese through the wrappings lol. Steak and cheese was really good. I would have preferred more meat though and kinda was expecting more because of how big the sandwich was. Like a lot more. But it was seasoned wellll. The Italian on the other hand was extremely salty. I was surprised because everyone talked about how good it was, but the saltiness was too much for me. I ate half of a half and had to discard the rest because I could stand the saltiness. I did eat the whole steak and cheese though. That chocolate cake was bomb though. As someone who bakes cakes all the time, it was nice and moist. It was in the fridge there but it didn't taste refrigerated at alllll. I wish I had gotten two of them instead of the Italian sub, but hey you live and you learn.

I am never disappointed with this place. Subs are amazing. You get plenty of meat. The bread is…read morealways soft. I prefer to call ahead or order on GH/DD and then go pick ut up. It's always ready and im in and out! I wish they were open on Sun/Mon during football season but I get it.. they need a break too!! All love though

Ambiance: A+ = Authentic Vibes & Cultural Immersion…read more Parking: A+ = Safe. Convenient. FREE Service: A+ = Professional. Patient. Polite. Very knowledgeable & attentive. Location: A = Reasonably placed in the local area / easily locatable from dwntwn/ITP/Buckhead Now for the food: For my first trip I tried the $10 curry chicken special with rice and cabbage. I added a side of cocoa bread. And eventually went back to the counter to grab 2 extra sides of curry sauce. Rating: A++++++ Reason: Bold but not overpowering seasoning Spice but not overwhelming to the flavor Big portions but well balanced and all well made Tender meat that melted in my mouth Rice that was fresh not overcooked or tasting previously frozen/reheated Cabbage that still had a small bit but was very tender and not greasy Bread that was sweet without added sugar and not to buttery but not dry This food is so beautifully delicious and yet amazingly down-home. I felt as though I'd slipped back into a quick food stand in Negril and sat at a bench to eat. The pricing is very affordable; best I've experienced in ATL and for the best quality food. There was no ruckus, club vibes, hookah or other distractions. I really enjoyed it and will be back

I finally pulled up to Yummies Cafe on a Thursday afternoon to check a box on my "must-visit" list…read more Supporting Black-owned spots is always the move, so I was looking forward to seeing how they got down. The space itself is actually a decent size--medium to large with enough seating to where you aren't fighting for real estate against the afternoon rush. It has a good flow to it, which I appreciated. I decided to deviate from the standard soul food lanes and went with the Caribbean Jerk Alfredo Combo, which comes with chicken and shrimp, plus some garlic bread on the side. Now, let's be clear: this is a soul food establishment, not a Caribbean kitchen, and that distinction was definitely present in the flavor profile. Everything was pretty tasty and the portions were solid, but it wasn't the best Jerk I've ever encountered. The sauce had some life to it, but if you're looking for that authentic island heat that makes you see colors, this isn't that. It's a soulful take on a fusion dish, and it does the job well enough for a mid-week craving. Overall, the vibes were straight and the food was good. It's a reliable spot to keep in the rotation when you want a heavy plate and want to keep your dollars in the community. I'll probably stick to the more traditional staples next time I slide through, but I walked out satisfied.
