I chose them because they had quite a few examples of cat portraits, in addition to the dog photos. So I purchased a gift certificate and a couple months later we had the photo shoot. The photo shoot itself went very, very well. We have a friendly dog who was pretty eager to cooperate, but also two older Siamese mix cats. Christina and John were very patient and let the cats come to them, and the photos were exceptional. We didn't really think the cats would cooperate, but in the end we had great photos of all three pets - photos that really show their personalities. I wholeheartedly recommend Christina and John, especially if you have cats.

Once (maybe twice) I was locked out of my house and he was still in the neighborhood and stopped by to let me in :-/ The dogs loved Nick and you could tell he enjoyed them too! He would snap photos and was great about letting us know how the walks went. Nick also did some overnight sits in our home while we were out of town and was a great house guest! Sometimes you worry about having someone you don't know well super well in your home for a few days at a time, but we never had any concerns with Nick! Nick's departure from DC was devastating to me and my roommate and our dogs. The boys rebelled when Nick moved back to TX. For weeks, they went on a destructive tear on the days Nick's replacement would come by. Seriously, that never happened when Nick was our walker! They loved him AND he wore them out! Hire Nick! You won't regret it!

Nick treated Charlie like his best bud and would send me pictures of their adventures. Charlie doesn't generally get very excited but when Nick came over to pick him up for walks he'd jump up and down with joy. Nick was also very good about communicating with me. Charlie's beagle instincts would lead him to eat junk off the ground so he regulary had to go to the vet. When Charlie had health issues, Nick would ask about how his buddy was doing (even on weekends and late hours) and reassure me that he would watch over him when they were together. More recently, I had to go out of town unexpectedly for work and Nick switched his schedule around so that he could watch Charlie. He really went above and beyond to help us. I can't recommend Nick enough. Anyone would be lucky to have him care for their cherished pet.

Vince was super patient with us and made sure we felt 100% comfortable going home to continue the work. Vince has been available for any follow up questions and hosts monthly group training classes for clients, which are amazing. Klaus loves and respects Vince so much and is always excited to see him. A couple weeks after training we went out of town and boarded Klaus with Vince and couldn't be happier with the convenience and the controlled environment. I recommend Colorado Canine Training to anyone looking to better understand their dog and get the training they need. Klaus is excited to work on his new skills everyday now! Kris really takes the time to get to know you & your pets, so she can capture meaningful images (she did such a phenomenal job, it was SO hard to narrow down which images we wanted to display). It's truly an experience: from the meeting to plan the shoot, taking the actual photos & then reviewing and choosing which to display. She's so patient, so kind and a hell of a photographer. Thinking about how a couple of the cats just hated this idea the shots she got were awesome, they look so majestic! I had lived in the Denver metro area since the early 90's and am very familiar with the shelters…read moreand rescues in the area. Years ago I had put in an application with Safe Harbor, and my application was approved to meet dogs. I ended up finding my dog at a local shelter before finding one through Safe Harbor. However, I have continued to receive their monthly email, and have always considered them when thinking about adopting. At the time when I was looking, the people who volunteered for Safe Harbor were friendly, warm, engaging people. Unfortunately, this has changed, and Safe Harbor has also now changed my perspectives on rescues at this point. After moving to Utah a few years ago, I have become familiar with shelters and rescues here. Last week, my dog and I had arranged a meet and greet with a dog in a shelter twice. They played together in the yard at the shelter, and we took them both on a walk at the park next to the shelter. I went home to think about adopting him, and when I returned to the shelter's webpage, he was gone. Safe Harbor pulled him from the shelter. I contacted Safe Harbor, and let them know my dog and I had met this dog several times and asked if he was available. I filled out their application. When I finally received a response, it was very rude, stating that yellow labs are popular and they have several people that have wanted one that are already approved adopters. So Safe Harbor takes dogs from no-kill shelters to fulfill someone's wish? In addition, they did not even offer to help me look for another dog within their organization. I contacted Safe Harbor multiple times and they refused to respond. I had no idea that Safe Harbor is more of a dog matching agency, and is not in rescue for the right reasons. Taking dogs from a no-kill shelter where a dog will be adopted is very different than what a true rescue does. Safe Harbor may want to rethink their mission statement. "To rescue, provide a high level of compassionate care and successfully rehome stray, abandoned or surrendered Labrador Retrievers giving priority to those in Colorado."
