Ten days of music, food, parades and people! If you have not been here yet-you need to add it to your summer list. Plan early- places to stay are hard too find. Highlights are the Jimmy Buffet-Like evening concerts on both Fridays and Saturdays, the Wednesday parade and of course the cheeseburgers. All this fun and beautiful sand beaches too!! 2018 burger champion was the Kiwanis club and it was terrible. By far the worst burger I ever ate. My son got sick from eating it. Who in the world voted for that burger. Syrup on the bun, unmelted cheese, rock hard bacon bits, and a dry burger for $27. No flavor at all it was like cardboard. I wasn't impressed with the event. Not really family friendly. read more

This event actually runs from August 12th to the 21st. I went last year for the first time and am completely stoked to go again this year! Haven't heard of it? Read on... Do you like a good cheeseburger? For one who isn't much of a meat-eater, I have to admit that a cheeseburger is something that I just enjoy having a few times a year. If you want to be someone who can speak with authority to the best cheeseburgers around, make some time to drive to the "Cheeseburger Fest". You will not be disappointed with the selection, and will leave satisfied. Main Street teems with people, all crowding around the various vendors. To tell you the truth, I absolutely hate crowds, but I can deal if only there is a tasty morsel awaiting at each destination. The burgers make the experience absolutely worth the while. As it's been almost a year since the last festival, I cannot recollect how many different burgers were available, but I believe it was in the order of anywhere from 10-20 different varieties. Every chef aims to please for the prize, as each burger is entered into a contest. From a portabella burger, to Mexican (with salsa), and everything in between, the creative juices flow at this annual event of burger bliss. Details of the event can be found on their site. The page is in fact up to date, although the whole site is admittedly horridly pieced together. I haven't gone for anything but the cheeseburgers, but there are enough different events to keep you busy the whole week. Other attractions include laser light shows, concerts, a parade, various contests, and a lot of different events for kids. You will also find that a lot of people come to Caseville's County Park to camp out for the event. Unfortunately it has probably been booked for months now. At any rate, you should visit the beach after a day of burger goodness and bask in the warmth of the afternoon sun, enjoying your seemingly alcohol-free beverage. If I could give only one word of advice, it is that you take some friends along for the ride. Not only is each cheeseburger anywhere from $4 - $7 (from what I recall), but each burger is of sizable portion, enough to split up amongst a group for the ultimate in sampling. After you've done your rounds, go around and pick up a burger for yourself, one that you enjoyed the most. I guarantee this is the best way to experience the festival. To be safe, I would recommend bringing $20 - $30 each with you for the ultimate experience, more if you would like to purchase a memento or a drink or two of choice. As a side note, we stopped at a gas station on the way back down off of M-53. One side sold assault rifles and the other ice cream. I can't say much for the guns, but the ice cream hit just the spot late at night. If you know of this place, let me know. read more

I honestly don't even know where this review is headed, but I have a feeling it might come across as slightly offensive, so I'm going to do my best to convey everything I want to convey without coming across as a pretentious ass. Cheeseburger in Caseville is what it is. It's a congregation of a bunch of people from all walks of life (but mostly from the drunken walk of life). It seems to me to be an excuse for a bunch of people to congregate in a nice, small town in the thumb and walk from bar to bar, getting hammered until they lose all of their inhibitions. If you are a burger connoisseur and are expecting to come here to test several different burgers and judge them on your own, then you're going to be sorely disappointed. Cheeseburger in Caseville is not about the burgers, it's about the booze. Don't kid yourself. The burgers are average at best. We made it out on the first Saturday this year. I also came last year. It seemed like a different crowd this year, but it could just be that I was distracted by the whole first-time experience last year and didn't take time to notice. Got there at about 1:30 and left around 8pm. It was a good time, don't get me wrong, but when you've got the 45-year-old biker woman swinging from and grinding the pole in the tent at 4pm...I just thought, "It's a little early for that." Don't get me wrong, I like to tip 'em back with the best of them and maybe I'm projecting a little here, but the whole experience was eye-opening...literally and figuratively. It didn't help my mood that it was quite hot and quite humid that day. Better weather might have changed my impression of the entire thing. Driving through town and trying to find parking can be an absolute nightmare. Trying to cram 10,000 people into a place that's best suited to hold 1,000 provides many obstacles. So...if you're looking to let yourself go in epically shameless fashion...Cheeseburger in Caseville is the perfect place to do it. Just be careful that someone doesn't enshrine you in some viral video though. You probably don't know many people other than the people you're with and there's likely someone there whose shamelessness will overshadow you. If, somehow, you find yourself at the top of the shamelessness chain on Cheeseburger weekend - DAMN...you got problems. read more

My wife and I are once again looking forward to another Cheeseburger in Caseville. When you fiqure in a place that has wonderful beaches, a beautiful lake and the many ways to enjoy summer. You would think that this can't get any better but you would be wrong. Along comes Cheeseburger in Caseville to provide family fun and great music to listen to. A must go to event to any Michigan native. What can I say blown up monkeys, flamingos, Cheeseburgers and margaritas... why not. It's always packed but this 10day event is a must see at least once. And they have busses that run to major camp sites and threw a few towns that will drop you off and pick you up for free. So you dont have to drink and drive or get stuck in the major traffic jam. Cheeseburger is like spring break for grown-ups. But its just too big for little old Caseville. The traffic and long waits for everything are not fun. Neither is the latent hostility from the locals who just want their town back. And watching inebriated 40 year-olds stumble in the street is kinda depressing to me. Sure, the burgers are good (particularly if you are in a group and can share them). The parade is impressive and the cardboard boat races are fun to watch too. But it is way too much hassle for me to enjoy. If you simply must go, try the first weekend of the festival as it is less insane. read more

NOT a family-friendly event to go to! Lots of public drinking, shirts-optional, and f-bombs a-plenty. Trashy trinkets galore and average burgers. The restaurant where we ate had a guy wearing an apron without a shirt! On top of that, they blared out the Rodeo Song (look up the lyrics)! I sure regretted bringing my wife and kids. read more

Kristoffer did a great job with the overview. Understand this is a town of 800 in the winter but thousands in the summer. Every business in town does a great job of supporting the 10 day event. The WED "PARADE OF FOOLS" IS THE HIGHLIGHT. The theme play off Jimmy Buffet cheeseburger in paradise Two parks near by for those who like to save money camping and many organized activities for the kids. Understand there is only one road through down town because of a river/bridge so traffic gets very slow but where are you going in a hurry? The restaurants and food vendors all compete for the "BEST CHEESEBURGER" award annually. It is crowded but go to have fun and you won't be disappointed read more
