I told her we were very adventurous and wanted to try lots of unique cheeses. She spent a good 20 minutes with me helping me decided on my list which ended up with: Applewood smoked cheddar (needed the basics), honey goat gouda, gorgonzola (blue cheese), morbier-livradoise (blue cheese mixed with a lighter creamier taste), bleu de sassenage (more blue!), quarto (60% cow's milk and 40% buffalo milk), white Stilton apple and pear and espresso cheese. They even let you try a few cheeses just to make sure you will like it before buying. All the cheeses were AH-MAZING! The menu is limited but it was enough for us to decide to dine here instead of our original destination. There are two tables inside plus counter seating by the window, and several patio tables on the sidewalk outside. Being right along Bellevue Ave. in West Vancouver, there a stunning view from this place. The store itself is clean, bright, stylish and well maintained. I was really loving the vibes this place gave off! Both my mom and I had The Bellevue grilled cheese sandwich and we shared a 2 for $8.00 Vegetarian Antipasto Skewer. We also ordered a Cherry Kombucha and some kind of Raspberry flavored soda that our server told us was from the UK. The Antipasto skewer came with a gherkin and the grilled cheese sandwich came with a pickle. I've never been a pickle person. I usually pick out the pickles anytime I get a burger that has pickle in it. I decided to give the gherkin and pickle a try this time. The verdict? Still not a pickle person. Then, on my way home, I passed by the Cambie store and decided to stop and get some charcuterie to go with my cheese. Kind of a mistake (according my wallet, not my appetite!) I ended up getting some more cheese, as well. The selection is really very good but the staff's knowledge of cheese (and everything else in the shop!) is what really blows me away. You can tell them what type of wine or beer you've got and they will recommend some excellent cheeses to make the perfect accompaniment. They really know their stuff! Not only that, but you can try a few different kinds to make sure you really like what you're going to buy. I walked out of the shop after spending just over $75 at both locations. I had a selection of blue cheese, goat cheese, some soft, some firm & crumbly, some sharp, some mild... plus some wild boar & rosemary sausage, some hot soprasetto... and some olives.
