I've been so bummed since WG Grinders permanently closed in Lima that I was excited to find a place that had them on their menu. We stopped in for a early dinner on Saturday and I have to say that I had a hard time choosing between the bacon cheeseburger and the club grinder so I ordered the burger to eat there and the club grinder to go. Oh my!, they have the best burgers that I've ever tasted. Seriously, this is no exaggeration. Everything was perfect. The bun was toasted on the inside so it didn't get mushy, the patty was grilled to perfection, seared on the outside and so juicy. Even the bacon was perfect. Cooked exactly right. We got a basket of fries to share and even they were great. Nice and golden with a crisp exterior but a fluffy center. Seasoned well that you wanted to eat them without ketchup. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak grinder and he really enjoyed it. Our waitress was very friendly and atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. I even loved that when your bill comes that there is a QR code right on the receipt so you can scan it with your phone and pay with Apple Pay. So convenient. We will definitely be making this a place we visit more often. I will be sure to take pictures next time.

Skinny's exceeded expectations. Not only did they have an exceptional assortment of burgers (juicy and filling), but they also surprised us with a great pork tenderloin. PT's are a regional favorite in Illinois and Missouri, and pretty rare east of Indiana. They're known for looking like a flattened piece of fried chicken with a bun that barely covers half the meat. This had a great taste, and the breading was not overcooked as it is deeper into the Midwest. Ordered two pieces of pie to go (rhubarb and coconut cream). Unless you hear otherwise, I expect they'll be a standout given their size and appearance. Skinny's looks like a rough roadhouse from its exterior, but is a convivial family hangout inside. Our waitress was friendly and very efficient. A pro. The French fries were also exceptional, though the coleslaw was just average (little more vinegar, please). Maybe that makes this a 4.8, but the humorous wall signs brought it back up up to 5 ("Many have dined here. Few have died."). Lot of good menu items, but this was the real deal for a burger fix.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and our waitress was great and recommended the spinach dip. We split the dip and the Drunken Swine flatbread and they both were very good. We are already planning to stop here on the way back and maybe try the pickle pizza and the bison burger. We thought about getting the peanut butter pie for dessert but were too full, next time for sure! The ambiance is very cozy too with a mix of historic and modern feel. Today the plant manager was kind enough to take me to lunch. This is the restaurant she chose and I was not disappointed. We were immediately greeted at the door and were told to choose our own seats. The waitress was very friendly and was prompt with taking our drink orders. I wish I was not on the clock because their bar seemed to have a good selection of different alcohols with some I have never saw. They even had a few decanters on the shelf I wish I would have asked about. I asked for a Dr. Pepper but the waitress let me know they have a soda like it but not the actual brand. I also regret not asking the brand of the soda because it was actually more flavorful than Dr. Pepper. I ordered the bison burger and red potatoes and my boss ordered a pizza. Our food came out pretty quickly and looked great.I did not try the pizza but it looked cooked perfectly with a nice crisp on the crust, next time I will try the pizza for sure it reminded me of my times in Italy. The red potatoes were cooked nicely and seasoned tastefully. The bison burger came with pickles, a green relish type mixture, and a dab of what I believe was a blue cheese. All though the meat could of used some more seasoning, the relish was more like a sweet jam spread and paired perfectly with the bison.Greatly enjoyed my lunch and without a doubt will be returning soon.

It's open, there is a bar to your right as you enter and lots of seating to your right and front. Can eat at bar. We sat, mimosas and bloodies available. Or for that matter- whatever you can think of. They have scotch eggs swimming in a bowl of gravy... yes gravy... and it was delicious. Definitely a Mexican "flair" with lots of black beans, sauces, etc. I stuck with a Belt sandwich - nice and crispy bread with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato. Friendly service and lots of value! Glad we found this spot since we are headed to Ohio a few times a year.

I almost forgot about the Horrible house salads she served us. She returned them & brought us the Cole slaw & Augratin potatoes. The mistakes were corrected, but totally changed our view of the Dark Horse. I hope improvements will be made!
