A chain that isn't in my locale, Cheddars supplies Americana meals at a level beyond the usual chainy quality. Following just short of greatness, Cheddars is the perfect place for conventional tongue and those that have to tag along in a group if conventional tongues. The meal I had was great. Nice environment that askews the chain bling for a combo shot of Spanish Colonial and modern decor. Clean and plenty of space makes a group gathering a comforting affair. One item of decor, hanging from the ceiling, were a spiral group of giant spoons that looked like a inquisition torture device ripped out of Edgar Allen Poe; it was both weird, beautiful, and creative. Loved their style of onion rings. Large, plentiful, and crunchy, they are the best rings I remember. I am not a fan of onion rings, so if I couldn't stop popping them than o-ring lovers will flip. Had Country Fried Chicken. Nicely fried breast full of meat and tender. They skin us dressed well, and the gravy is a mouth watering touch. We had been wanting to try Cheddars on a family recommendation who had eaten at one in Virginia. I seldom write bad reviews but our experience was so bad that I felt compelled to do so. We stopped for an early lunch - the server clearly did not like her job, we waited a half hour for a pretty straight forward order to come and the food was some of the worst I have eaten in memory- I have a really good memory. It was salty beyond belief and in fact in hind sight we should have sent it back and ordered a sandwich and kept our fingers crossed. read more

Stopped in after being picked up at the airport for a long weekend in Fort Myers. I am so glad we stopped here because everything was amazing. We were told there was a 10 min wait (it was a Friday night) but we ended up being seated within 5 minutes. Our server came over right away and explained the menu to us. We each ordered a margarita, which was delicious. We could not believe how affordable this restaurant was. I ordered the grilled salmon with the bourbon glaze that came on a bed of rice and I got to pick 1 sides. I ordered the steamed broccoli and and the southwest green beans. The whole meal was only 10.99$, a great price in my opinion. The rest of the table ordered ribs and shrimp which each back with 2 sides. Tonight for dinner I chose The Ultimate Lunch Combo for $7.79 - 1/2 Cheddar's Club Sandwich, bowl of chicken tortilla soup, and a Caesar side salad with a warm buttered croissant. All was very good. The soup was very spicy, but good. The President Sangria cane out in an oversized, stemmed glass. Taste was very raspberry-ish, not what I'm used to in a traditional red sangria. But, again, it was good. For dessert, my husband and I shared a warm chocolate chip skillet dessert with vanilla ice cream and whipped topping. Very large dessert and only $4.99. So yummy! I had heard great things about Cheddar's in general, so I was eager to try it. We arrived around 90 minutes before closing time and were seated in the dining room area. There were not many people seated in the area except for a birthday party in a section off to the side. Having just arrived in Florida and on our way from the airport, I wanted a frozen fruit cocktail and ordered a pina colada, only to be told that they were out of the mixer. I ordered some spiked lemonade drink, which was okay. Not very strong. We had a toddler with us and asked for a high chair several times before they brought us a booster seat. My kid will not sit still in a booster, so I was annoyed that we never got the high chair, as requested. The server made himself scarce so we never really got a chance to ask for a high chair a third time. We ordered a grilled cheese for the kid, a 6oz sirloin for myself and the mister had ribs. The food came out cold, and we had to ask for silverware and napkins before we could eat. I had asked for my steak medium well, and it was well done and overly seasoned with a heavy hand of Montreal seasoning. I ate about half before the seasoning became overwhelming and I couldn't eat another bite. The baked potato was the best thing on the plate but it was about the size of a tennis ball. Thankfully, they did take the steak entree off of the bill, but that didn't make up for the lack of service and cold food. I ended up eating a lunch meat sandwich once we got to our final destination. Hopefully I will get to try Cheddar's at a a different location and have a better experience, but as of now, I am not impressed. I would choose Applebee's over Cheddar's. read more

New to the area and I have been ordering pretty frequently. On the last few orders at least one item was missing but it happens. No big deal. However I ordered close to closing recently. The food was late coming out for curbside. I had to go in and wait for it. I got home and the croissant was missing. Getting used to one item being missing. OKAY, OKAY, I admit it! My first review was a bit overly exuberant. After seeing so many weak reviews, I thought we'd better go back and check it out again. For starters, I ordered a Cabernet from our waitperson. She said: "Is that a red or white wine?" We're not off to a great start here. We started with the Crescent City Shrimp & Crab Dip, which the Menu said had "generous portion of crab." Well, it was entirely FAKE crab. For dinner we had the New Orleans Pasta which was okay, but the noodles were limp and way over-cooked. The other dish, Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa, was okay. Sorry, but a downgrade was definitely in order. The early high attention to service and quality that we perceived on the first visit was just not there the second time. Next time we need to eat at Gulf Coast Town Center we'll probably go over to Connor's instead. read more

I've been to Cheddar's a plethora of times across different Florida cities, and my experience continues to be positive/better each time. Reservation staff was friendly and helped me get a large table in a shorter amount of time then originally projected. We had some drinks at the bar before getting seated. There is so much great food on the menu that I consistently find myself stumped on what to order, I think I have a problem.. We ended up ordering 4 appetizers - buffalo Chicken fingers, onion rings, fried cheese curds, and honey biscuits. Honey biscuits are my favorite! I then ordered the steak which came out just the way I wanted it. Absolutely delicious! My paired red wine complemented the dish too, which is a major plus. Food was great especially the chicken pot pie..it's nice to visit a place and actually get chicken in the pot pie..Homemade chicken tenders and grilled cheese were a hit with the little ones and my wife had the grilled chicken pasta Caesar salad which was more then she could finish which wasn't a bad thing at all. prices are perfect for the portion sizes. Very disappointing visit. I've been to other Cheddar's locations and never an issue. My wife and I ordered the Filet. She got hers but they brought me what was clearly not a filet. I told our server Teresa who was great and she said she'd get me a filet. She kept checking in and running back to the kitchen but the steak didn't come out for at least 20 minutes. She said she'd have the manager come over and talk to us due to the delay. My wife saw her point to our table and the manager simply walked away and never came to apologize for their mistake and then the long delay. Kudos to Teresa for trying. Maybe you need a new manager because whoever was talking on duty clearly doesn't care about your business or it's customers. read more

4 stars comes due to overall value and presentation. This is a well decorated and staffed restaurant. We've only eaten at the bar and the staff there is ALWAYS welcoming and efficient. The menu is varied and their signature cocktails are fun and SO fairly priced! $4.99 BIG margarita? :) The food is always good but, being honest, it's a great value for a decent meal; We're not talking fine dining here. But I'm always amazed how fair my check is when it arrives. We eat there weekly! One bone of contention: it's 2018, get WiFi for your guests. There is no cell service in there due to the thick brick building construction, so WiFi should be a given. read more

Had a great Sunday dinner with the family, it's pretty crazy packed in here but they handle the constant rush well! Our waitress was amazing and I wish I had her name to post in here she was that good! The food did take a lil while to come out but hey, the beverages kept flowing. There is a lot of food coming out of that kitchen so it is to be expected. We started out with some real nice crispy onion rings, great house salads, and entrees all around were crowd pleasers for us! 20oz Porter House, Club Sandwich, Cheeseburger, and Killer Monte Cristo were all A1! Overall there is really pretty reasonable value to this place and the quality was good! One thing I did find disturbing was the tile floor around the whole restaurant was slimy or slippery. I'll preface this update with the fact that we were in the restaurant at 6:45 on a Friday night, probably the busiest time of the week for them. Comedy of errors tonight -- The waiter apparently put in for my drink order, but it was never delivered. I asked for blue cheese dressing instead of ranch on the side of my sandwich. No blue cheese (the food runner was kind enough to grab some for me). The "Buffalo" where my sandwich came from must have been Buffalo, Alberta, instead of Buffalo NY, because it certainly didn't taste like any Buffalo wing I've ever had. Very little spice to the sauce, basically it was a breaded, deep fried chicken with some butter on it. Was there a three-bite check to make sure the food was right? Of course not. Were our waters refilled when we finished them? Take a guess. In our waiter's defense, when he came to drop the check, he noted that something was missing, and took my drink off the bill. "Aw, man, I'm sorry -- I put it in, I'm not sure why they didn't run it out." I tried to give him an out. "Dude, y'all look pretty weeded tonight." Did he take it? Did he say "yeah, sorry, we're totally busy tonight." No. "Nah, this is pretty normal for a Friday." SMDH. I tried to give him a chance to pass the buck. Really. And they did look like they were a little in the weeds (most of the tables were occupied at any given time, and the manager seemed to be bussing tables). Just... agree with me. Honestly, I was trying to give him a chance to save the meal. And he blew it. Sigh. So, let's recap. No drink, bland food, wrong sauce, no check-in, at least the "no drink" was removed before I had to point it out. Basic apology. Definitely not their best night. read more

On a Saturday night at gulf coast you would obviously expect everything to be packed, but you would also expect the restaurants to accommodate the influx of people. This Cheddars did happen to disappoint me in that area. Upon arrival, I was given the wait time of 45 minutes for two people. The information provided was not misleading whatsoever and was accurately estimated. After waiting, my party was promptly seated in the back area of the restaurant. A walk to the back revealed the horrors of what the people of Fort Myers had done to this establishment. Various meals, napkins, and crumbs were scattered across the floor and I happened to almost slip on the greasy tile floor. This surprised me as I thought that a place like Cheddars would be able to keep clean despite the amount of customers present. After sitting in the booth provided, our waitress took a couple minutes to reach my party. I am not surprised by this fact as the area she was caring for was extremely busy. In the time it took her to reach our table, I was able to visit the bathroom. When I entered the restroom, I almost screamed at the atrocity I was met with. The image I attached below is what I witnessed. I of course, took it upon myself to clean the mess that was made. I then returned to my table and was allowed to order drinks and a meal for my party and I. It took about thirty minutes for the food to reach us, but it was completely worth the wait. Although the establishment was not well-maned and obviously lacked the amount of staff needed, the food our table received was astonishing. I was quite fond of the country fried steak and Monte Crisco I was provided. I would recommend this Cheddars to people who are willing to either go during the weekdays, or endure the reckless abandon of our own community during the weekends. read more

I've really never had a bad experience at any cheddars restaurant I've been too! They've all been pretty solid! First let me say the staff here is so nice and friendly for sure! Second the prices are very very reasonable! Lastly the portion sizes are great!!! I ordered a side salad which is a $2.49 add on and is well worth it! Nice big portion! For dinner I had baby backs and tenders. The baby backs where fall off the bone tender. I wish they offered extra sauce or a variety of sauces to use if anything! The tenders where enormous and crispy and tasted good. The sides where home style and points for offering country gravy with the mashed potatoes! I'll go back to cheddars as long as they keep the big portions and cheap prices. If they cutback, like most places tend to do I'll stop going but until that happens there ok in my book! read more

But the portion is a little too small. But the fried shrimp is great. The ribs are insanely delicious and the bread pudding for dessert is a MUST!! Another must have is the "Pain Killer" drink. Visit this place on 14 December 2020 and ordered the Coconut shrimp as a starter to share. We asked for a small bowl of Salsa as dipping sauce. When spooning the salsa we discovered HALF a French fry on the bottom of the salsa bowl. The only assumption is that this had been served to someone else before who dropped Half a fry in the salsa. The manager denied reserving food discarded by other customers and told us that the salsa is kept next to the fries and that a French fry must have fallen into the salsa by accident. There are a couple of concerns: 1. Possibility of re-serving discarded food during Covid. 2. If not that, then there is cross contamination of food. 3. In their own explanation means that they are keeping cold food such as salsa next to hot food (the French fryer & fries) creating a huge opportunity for bacterial growth. I cancelled our order and we left the place without eating. This used to be a great place but I will not be back. read more

My husband ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. One of his favorite meals and he loved it! He said the side salad was good too! I ordered the ribeye steak with red beans and rice and the green beans.
