I can verify that they charge 15% of the face value for personal checks, which should be criminal!

I've had a Chase bank account in good standing for over a decade, but in summer of 2024 Chase…read morestarted putting 14 day holds on every paycheck I deposited, despite the payroll checks having already cleared my work's bank account. I refuse to let big banks hold my paychecks hostage while they charge me overdraft fees, so I went back to the tried and true method of MoneyTree check cashing. While there is a very minimal flat rate fee per check, it's beyond worth it in my opinion. I never spend more than 3 minutes in line, they're able to immediately deposit money into my Chase bank account, and give me cash for whatever I don't want deposited. More specifically, at this location, I've primarily interacted with Miriam, who is AMAZING. She's personable, polite, understanding, and fast as F***! Like, yeah she's my favorite, but I don't have to do anything special to end up at her window, she's just so fast and efficient that she rips through that line so fast it would make Rick James proud. Oscar has been equally amazing. He's also fast, efficient, understanding, and goes above and beyond with the customer service he provides. I've been using MoneyTree for months now and it's actually mind blowing how happy I am with the service. No hidden fees or charges, everything up front, cut and dry. 10/10 would recommend.

I am a woman in her 60's who sometimes rents out a room in my home via Furnished Finder-- and…read moreFurnished Finder uses KeyCheck and Stripe for payments. I received a payment via Stripe from the tenant's Chase Bank credit card in the amount of $1450. I have never had a problem with Furnished Finder, KeyCheck, or Stripoe before until Feb. and March 2026, but I haven't done much business with them, monetarily. A tenant signed a lease (California, legal month-to-month) on 11 Feb. 2026 and moved in 15 Feb. 2026. I did her laundry for her that evening while she went to bed. On 16 Feb. she gave me a 30-day termination email while I was gone all day (it came to email), and then proceeded to leave the house with a door unlocked and open, which set off the alarm, and caused the police to make a non-emergency visit. This will cost me between $100-$500 for a non-emergency police visit: I'm still waiting for the bill. When I returned home 16 Feb., I found out about her 30-day termination email, and the police visit. I called my alarm company, who verified. The tenant went fake-cry/fake-hysterical and accused me of causing her heart to beat fast and her to have a panic attack. She kept asking to leave. Eventually she did leave. I emailed her twice about needing to find out how much the police charges were prior to refunding her some of her payment. She never responded. It turns out she was no longer employed with her old company in Madison, WI, Noel Development, despite what she'd told me. Nor was she employed in San Diego, Bridge Housing Corp., despite what she'd told me. Meanwhile, Stripe told me the tenant was requesting her Chase Bank credit card give her back her monies. I sent via Stripe to Chase Bank the lease, the emails from me, and to me from the tenant, and the CA legal code regarding breaking a month-to-month lease which means the landlord keeps the money. Chase via Stripe informed me the tenant never occupied the place, never signed anything, that there was no evidence her room was ready, etc. -- all in direct opposition to the evidence itself. Stripe debited $1551.78 from my bank account on March 6, 2026. I met with a Wells Fargo banker on 15 March 2026 and I had all my paperwork: the signed lease, my emails to the tenant, her email to me, my emails to her, etc. The Wells Fargo banker was appalled that Chase Bank would not have read the documents. The Wells Fargo banker knew this was fraud, and contacted their fraud unit. On 25 March 2026 Wells Fargo notified me they had refunded the $1551.78 into my account. Stripe then sent me an email regarding me owing them monies. I have repeatedly tried to contact Stripe support, via AI, via a couple (supposed) support personnel (Joshua, Levi), and am repeatedly told that Chase Bank's decision is final and I owe Stripe money for paying Chase Bank. Yet Stripe already debited from my account $1551.78 -- which is $101.78 MORE than I ever received.

I used to think my City Heights Chase is small, well this one on Ruffin Rd is even smaller, from…read morethe look outside, it doesn't have a side ATM machine, but it does have a big drive thru ATM, unfortunately one way access, splitting into 2 lanes, one to the drive thru, and the narrow one takes you to the parking lot which is also tiny, and you will piss off a lot of cars behind you at the intersection because you're trying to get to the parking but you weave into the drive thru and try to pull out, I did. Finally when you get inside, it was super compacted, designed for a lot of one on one meeting with 60% of cubicles taking the space of the lobby, one ATM located inside right next to all the tellers windows, and last but not least their $100 bills were very messy with ink stains, fingerprints and faded images from both sides, if I travel with these bills, it would lose its value to more than half
