Very subpar experience that left me disappointed and feeling like I didn't actually eat lunch. I ordered a four piece cheese stick and a double patty cheese champ via DoorDash. I had low expectations for the cheese sticks and higher for the burger, but first time ever and wasn't sure what to expect. The mozzarella sticks were still warm and enjoyable. My biggest complaint with them was that they lacked girth, I enjoy a thicker cheese stick and as you can see, not much going on there. More like a fry almost, long and thin. The burger was the most disappointing thing, pure mush and no flavor. Even with onions, pickles, lettuce, ketchup, and an extra patty, this burger was lacking. It was hard to eat with no crisp anywhere, not the bun or the toppings (or even a good burger sear), after half the burger I threw the rest away. This experience left me feeling like I hadn't eaten anything for lunch and was still craving more. I can't speak to the chicken, but avoid the burgers at least. read more

Drove through around noon on a Friday just for a medium fries. Pretty easy place to get in and out of with plenty of parking. 2 people were in front of me on the side I decided to order from. No one was in the other line. The line moved fairly quickly and was to the window within 2 mins. My med fries were fresh and as always, there were also extra fries just floating around the bag. Really gone down hill. This isn't my choice in fast food but my husband was craving so we stopped. I only hit a fry because I remember their fries being awesome! Very disappointed!!! I'm new to the area and the hubs and I were driving around looking for something fast but familiar. This Checkers was pretty busy which is a good sign. Except for the amazing fries we don't have the best memories associated with Checkers-the last time I went to one in Orlando the hubs and I got food poisoning so, yeah. So we went here with a little trepidation. As far as Checkers go this one was just fine, it wasn't a FANTASTIC burger but it was decent. I just got a regular Checker Burger and the hubs got the Roadhouse Bacon Burger (meat lovers, rejoice!). The folks there were super friendly and the service was fast. Sadly they forgot his burger so I was practically done with mine by the time he got his. We also picked up pies which were coated with way too much brown sugar. The highlight of this Checkers is the location. Its across a plaza of stores and next to a gas station with plenty of seating outside. It was also a windy and cool night so we had a nice breeze. This place is PERFECT for people watching-at one point we watched a young dude try to toss a bottle into the trash bin from his car and miss like 3 times, when he finally made it we clapped for him, to his surprise and slight embarrassment (it was adorable lol). I saw that they were on undercover boss. Many issues were covered that Were concerning, the food, the food temp and also equally as important was how the employees were being treated. I am born and raised in Tampa fl. That being said I grew up with checkers, the food was always great. It was my favorite. About five years or so I stopped coming because the fries tended to always be cold . My burger was always room temp and the cheese never was melted... Which is IMPORTANT. Back to undercover boss, after seeing the show (about 8 months ago was when I first saw the episode ) I figured shittt thank god! So right after the show finished I decided to take a leap of faith and try checkers again, I was so excited! What happened? My fries were cold, so was my burger ! To say I was pisssssed is an understatement. This place has so much promise yet no one seems to care. If McDonald's can manage to have melted cheese on a burger , they have no excuse. Don't come here. The customer service is terrible. It took 30 minutes to get my cheeseburger and french fries. There was only 2 other customers in the order/pickup line, both with small orders. And 10 cars left that drive-thru before I received my meal. And when I asked when my meal would be ready they said "soon ma'am" and shut the window in my face while I was talking. And when I talked to the manager she told me "the meat was being made". Which was false because out of those 10 cars I highly doubt no one got any beef. Overall a terrible experience. read more

Rude. Everytime i'm there they act like they hate me for going to their location. Dirty looks, no hellos, just takes money and gives attitude. I had just moved into the area and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and I was a little skeptical about going to checkers but The night manager Abe was by far one of the greatest checkers staff empire, Joyce was very informative in helping me make my decision with confidence. The only reason I gave them only one star is because 0 stars is not a choice. I used to eat at this Checkers a lot. One day about 8 months ago I stopped in and got food for my wife and I. I selected the deep sea double and my wife only wanted a hot dog. I only live maybe 3 minutes away so returned home withe the food. We both ate our selections at the diningroom table. Then shortly there after the nightmare started. Within 15 minutes of eating the fish sandwich I felt very sick an started throwing up and shortly after came the diareah. My wife is a nurse and noticed it was really bad and drove me to the hospital about 5 minutes away. They worked on me in the emergency room for 12 hours to save my life. I had full reanal failure with lasting damage. They determined the sandwich was contaminated with seminella. Doctor said if I would have delayed 5 more minutes, I would have died! I ended up spending r days in the hospital due to the Checkers fish sandwich. Because I ate the sandwich, they could not do tests on it. That illiminated a lawsuit against Checkers.
