Checkered automotive works hand and hand with Accutune off-road and got my suspension dialed in. Having the shocks retuned has dramatically improved my ride. Checkered automotive worked with my schedule and their pricing is more than fair. Cannot recommend them enough. Get it done right the first time!

I wanted to lift my 2017 tacoma but I brought my own parts for install (eibach pro lift kit and icon leaf spring). I needed alignment also. Jahaziel the owner ordered upper control arms for me and he made sure he will have it on install day. Day of install, drop off your vehicle at 8:30am it will be ready around 3-4pm. Overall, the whole ordering and install went smooth hassle free. They told me also to come back to the shop after driving 150 miles to re-torque the vehicle. The labor cost is the same around other shops I got a quote from but you will get quality/clean work here. Highly recommended and I will be definitely going back here.

I had an excellent experience getting the suspension installed on my 2025 Toyota Tacoma Off-Road. From start to finish, everything was professional and straightforward. Scheduling was easy, and they were able to get my truck in on a Saturday by appointment. The installation was completed in under four hours, exactly as promised, with the understanding that the timeline could vary only if they discovered any questionable or previously modified work on the vehicle. I appreciated that they were upfront and transparent about their process. Their pricing was very competitive compared to other shops I considered, and the quality of the installation speaks for itself. The owner was also excellent with communication, responding to my texts promptly and keeping me updated throughout the drop-off and pickup process. I originally found this shop through a recommendation, and now I have no problem recommending them myself. So this place was recommended by a few folks in Toyota and Lexus groups online for lifts, bumper installs and even minor maintenance. All of which I will be coming back here to get done. I just had a Dobinsons MRR set of 4 reservoir shocks springs and upper control arms installed on my new 2022 Lexus GX 460. Without any hesitation I'd recommend this shop. If you have any need for lifts, bumper installs,suspension mods involving KDSS here is the place to take your vehicle. I needed my rusty shocks, springs, and rear lift block replaced on my '13 Toyota Tacoma and came upon this place. I also wanted to replace my 265 tires with 285s without it rubbing. Checkered Automotive conducted the CMC, installed Bilstein 5100 shocks, OME springs, Icon AAL and UCAs and replaced my lower control arms. I thought I got screwed buying a used car from an older guy who seemed legit. I paid $2,300 in…read morecash, got a clean title, and was told all it needed was a CV axle. I figured I could handle that since I was tight on cash, and the repair wouldn't go over $500. After a quick test drive around the block--where I did hear some clicking, but it didn't sound too bad--I decided to buy it. On my 20-mile drive home, that clicking sound started raising doubts. It didn't seem like just a CV axle issue anymore, though I couldn't quite figure out what it was. The engine and transmission were running great, so I thought it had to be something simple, right? I took it to a highly-rated local shop, and they diagnosed the problem as the front differential or transmission (it's an AWD vehicle). Unfortunately, they said they don't work on transmissions. Well, FML. Next, I took it to a well-recommended transmission shop. After a few days, they confirmed the same issue and gave me a rough estimate of $1,900 to $2,500 for a used replacement. No rebuilt or new parts were available. FMLx2. I then brought it to my go-to guy, who's great at swapping parts and doing some diagnostics. He said he could handle the repair for $1,200, including sourcing a used part. But after two weeks of searching, he had no luck. FMLx3. At this point, I did my own research and decided if I could stay under $2,500, the repair would be worth it based on the car's value. I posted a project on Yelp to solicit bids from local shops. That's when Memo from AAMCO reached out. I was hesitant at first, but AAMCO has been around forever, and Memo seemed legit. I figured they'd either be the most expensive or the most reasonable since they specialize in transmissions. I checked reviews on Google and Yelp, and they looked good, so I decided to give Memo a shot. I dropped by to talk to him, and he was great--super communicative and really listened to my situation. I left the car with him, and the next day, I got a call. Of course, the repair exceeded my $2,500 budget. Same diagnosis: front differential/transmission replacement with a used unit. The estimate was $2,800, but they'd thoroughly inspect the replacement to ensure it was good. So close, but still over budget. I told him I'd call back. I was ready to schedule the car for auction and cut my losses, but something in my gut told me the car was worth saving. I called Memo back and asked if he could do it for $2,700. After some discussion, he agreed to work with me. Two days later, the car was ready. Memo had a surprise for me--the replacement transmission came with a new mount, and they managed to bring the total cost just under $2,600, nearly at my budget. THAT is honesty and integrity. I've been driving the car, and it feels exactly how a 20-year-old car in great shape should. No more clicking noises, and it's running beautifully. Since AAMCO handles other types of repairs, Memo and his team have officially become my go-to shop. I highly recommend seeing Memo at AAMCO if you need reliable, trustworthy service.

I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. I really appreciated him taking the time to educate me instead of just handing me a bill. One thing I noticed while I was waiting was how many customers came in who clearly knew Alex. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him, several appeared to be repeat customers, and there was an obvious level of trust between them. After my own experience, I completely understand why. He broke down the issues with the V and how he was going to fix them. He adjusted the alignment on the ol' AWD and suggested some of the other suspension parts I should think about replacing, which I appreciated. Now the V is driving as straight as an arrow. Ledezma's will be my go to spot for all alignment and suspension needs.

A few minutes later I realized it wasn't my stomach--my car was dripping fluids everywhere like it had just signed a sponsorship deal with Tuli Drip. Then the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Every warning light imaginable was on. At that point, I was convinced my Envista was preparing for liftoff. I couldn't drive it, so I called a tow truck and got hauled back to the dealership. Of course, by the time I got there, the shop was closed. The next morning they inspected it and delivered the shocking diagnosis: "It was just your gas cap." Apparently, I didn't have it on properly when I started driving. So after 5 hours at the shop, a panic attack, a tow truck ride, an overnight stay, and enough dashboard lights to decorate a neighborhood, the culprit was... a gas cap.
