Daves Auto Salvage in Clifton... stay far away unless you want to get RIPPED OFF. I was even told…read moreto not go to daves... after I went to daves :( I pulled out a bad transmission from my Jeep Grand Cherokee and installed it myself so I could sell the jeep before I moved. The transmission I got from Dave is $500 with tax. He said "this transmission runs great. You have a 30 day warranty." I put it in... it didn't work :( Terrible transmission. It didn't shift into second and first. Two days later I had to leave the state so I called up dave from out of state and said "The transmission doesn't work" dave says "you need to pull it out and bring it in" ?????????? It costs $450 to have a transmission removed and re-installed. THAT'S $450 MORE I HAD TO PAY BECAUSE DAVE SOLD ME A BAD TRANSMISSION On top of that, because I had a transmission guy test drive it to see what the problem was, Dave voided the warranty. The transmission guy even said "You shouldn't have gone to daves" If you ever talk to this guy, you'll see he doesn't seem very honest. There are much better salvage yards, Memos and The Trade Center have much more friendly and honest people. Don't go to Daves Auto Salvage in Clifton.

Sooooooo glad we did now!!! After reading all the negative reviews everything that has happened makes sense. My guess is they took any good parts off our car and put bad ones in it then tried to back out because they got what they wanted after what I've read here. We will be seeing them in court and possibly pressing criminal charges depending on what they do between now and then. If anyone tries to buy the 88 Nissan 300zx, DON'T - It's already been traded and there is a signed contract.

They were incredibly accommodating and prioritized the work on my car, knowing that I was trying to make my way back across the state. They diagnosed the problem quickly and even took me out to my car to show me the crack in my radiator. Everything was replaced and buttoned up within a few hours for what seemed like a reasonable price. The owners have been a part of the community there for decades and are very obviously stand up, trustworthy folks. Highly recommend!

About midway they came up with all these things that needed to be replaced and charged me $2000.00. After I paid Sylvia and Loui they took a trip to NY and my car sat for another month. The third month Sylvia called and said the total to fix the car would cost me over $5,000.00 which I paid. They gave me my car back and a week later it started making the same noise I took it in for. Sylvia one of the owners was extremely defense saying that her sons (the mechanics) knew what they were doing and refused to refund me my money. These kind of people disgust me. I ended up selling my car for parts. Don't waste your time here. They don't even deserve a star.

I've been through 9 mechanics in the Grand Valley. None have come through and done the thorough inspection I have asked for. Literally nobody else showed near as much professionalism or kindness as they have. a big Thank you from Solveson Builders

Hello: I was happy to find a shop to service my son's car. They made the scheduling and drop-off…read moreeasy and the service was performed quickly. A few months go by and the thermostat that they replaced failed. I contacted them to discuss this issue, but the car was now in the metro Denver area and not near Grand Junction. I had no choice, but to take to car to a local shop (1 .6 miles from my house) as the vehicle was leaking antifreeze profusely and overheating; There was no way for the car to make the 4 hour trip to Grand Junction. I discussed this with Scott's when this occurred initially and the Service Consultant was unaware of any process to follow for warranty other than to bring the vehicle back to their shop. After getting the thermostat replaced by the local shop I followed up with Scott's and after multiple emails and phone calls to discuss their warranty, I was now informed of their process. With this new story, there was no way to rewind what had already been repaired by the local shop. I submitted a copy of the invoice and asked for credit for the repair to be used at their shop in the future and was told that wasn't going to happen. I asked for a manager to call me to discuss this further and have yet to receive a call back after multiple calls and emails. Scott's: I understand that parts fail, but what I can't understand is how you let your customer service fail.
