Very disappointed. They enter your information in their system then decide whether they want to cash your check or not. They denied my check when I needed it, yet took all my personal information beforehand. I had to wait until Monday for the bank to open to cash my check, which was quicker and non invasive. read more

Cashed my check here tonight because I was far away so decided to stop here. The Asian man at night is very judgmental type of person. I walked in and said Hi, he said Hi are u here to cash your check, I said , Yes . He then said cause it looks like You need Money! Lol I was shocked and said naw I gotta pay bills . Then I said to him everybody that comes here not broke and I don't live over here. He then said oh you got an apartment! Another shock lol naw I got a house , he ask me how much I pay I said none of his business it's a lot. What they did NOT Specify is this: You must be a regular Check City customer. The owner of this branch is extremely rude. She does not like her job what so ever because she yelled at me and gave me back a check I wanted to cash all because I asked her if I needed to answer a ton of person information. This company wants to know your social, DOB, two references and more just to cash a check. I felt as if I was being interrogated and harassed all to get a check cashed. Never have I ever had to give so much personal information to get a single check cashed under $1000. Then when I asked why she was upset with me for asking her simple questions. She told me "it's mandatory and that I did it in the past. So if I want my check cashed then do it or go somewhere else" I do not appreciate this type of attitude, especially when I'm calm and collected. Her coworkers looked at me with total surprise when I told her not to speak to me like that and I wanted her supervisors name. She then told me she was the supervisor and that she's use to people complaining about her and Handed me a card. As if she wasn't surprised. She never apologized and made me sign a receipt to get my money. I would recommend depositing your check in your bank or go anywhere else if you want any kind of experience besides horrible and distasteful. Good luck everybody else! read more

Hi, Check City Not recommended at ALL. I was collecting a western union & I was told NO. She or Check city actually made me feel like I was a criminal. She or Check City proceeded to shoe or send me out the door. I proceeded to go to 'Walgreens' & collected my ($225) payment. They seem to communicate as if you are of NOTHING. You have NO value. "what took you so long to cash your check?" We get alot of fake checks in here." We're taking a risk by cashing your check which is why we need your employers information, two references and supervisors information." You used to cash $100, $200 and $300 checks back in 2016 now a $1900 check?" These were some of the demeaning and humiliating comments and questions I received from check city staff on 8/2/2021 after trying to cash a final payroll check with a highly reputable employer (Clark county) along with all the information requested. The outcome was the manager telling the supervisor to tell me they didn't feel comfortable cashing my check however they would call me in the morning once they verified. Not only didn't they verify, they never called me or my employer. This was a check that I needed to pay my rent and these people treated me like a criminal. Ultimately, I went to money tree, gave my address and social, they called my employer to verify and I got my cash along with a free money order. If you guys have an issue with non-hispanic people doing business at your company, display it so we know not to come there. Check city staff uses discriminatory and racist practices against non-hispanic people which I'm not surprised. Yes, black women cash legit checks from reputable companies. It's called three college degrees and advancement. Now I know not to utilize your organization. Thanks for the lesson learned. read more

A family member getting an apartment needed a money order for his move in deposit. The complex's management suggested we get it from Check City. There was a short wait, but the office was very nice and clean, the staff was friendly and very professional. And money orders are no charge if you pay cash! Who does that these days? Impressed. I hate this location, they enter the wrong date for my payments to come out my account so I constantly had overdraft fees. They said they will pay my fees.. perfect till one day they over paid me so instead of calling me back and saying they made a mistake Natalie the manager cashed a fraudulent check in my name so I couldn't do a loan til I paid the check fee for returning. I their corporate office and they aid the fraudulent act so I just paid it off for piece of mind. Now they have a collect calling me and harassing me with the same name as the person I have a restraining order against as a harassment. Was there shortly after it opened on Thursday December 8th 2016. I wanted to get a bus pass but the lady said they were out. I then asked for Roll of quarters, once again they were out. I then asked for a money order which they were able to make. The customer service was horrible. Now I know my transactions probably were not very profitable that day but with all the competition out there these type of services go a long way in building good will with the public. I was trying to see how this place was since it was by my work. Instead I will stay a customer of Money Tree who always seem to provide excellent service and always with a smile. read more
