Recently, I worked with Charlie on a wonderful wedding at the Bali Hai restaurant in San Diego. Charlie came prepared, and he was very easy to work with. He had multiple multiple cameras to catch so many different angles and different vantage points of the celebration. I was very impressed when I saw the final video that he created. I definitely recommend connecting with Charlie to see if he is a good fit for your Once in a Lifetime celebration. read more

We had our wedding in August of 2025, and the videography Charlie and his team provided was way beyond my expectations. We were a last-minute booking for him and his team. Charlie was able to find a person to cover our wedding just a couple days before the wedding date. He has excellent examples of different styles of videography they could provide and what that pricing would look like. Charlie's website is perfectly user-friendly and was precise in their package descriptions and pricing. We personally did not want cinematic style videography that would require a lot of editing on their end. We wanted raw footage that we could keep for generations to show to our future children and grandchildren. The videographer did a phenomenal job at recording the ceremony and some of the reception in an authentic way that encapsulated the feeling of one of the greatest days of our lives. The videographer that covered our wedding, Stephen Daniels, had an exceptional understanding of Charlie's expectations on customer service. Charlie was constantly responsive before the big day and clear about when we should expect the files after the wedding. When he offered additional services in the emails, he presented it in a way that demonstrated his genuine care for weddings and events and not just an "upsell." I could see Charlie's customer service extend to Stephen. Stephen and Charlie knew we went with the most affordable package. Even so, Stephen set up a higher quality microphone and brought two cameras for backup. Charlie's website explains other services he could provide such as DJ-ing. Luckily, my husband is a DJ, but we did have quite a few live singers at our reception. Although we could not afford the microphone package for sound on the live singers, Stephen took the time out of recording to help one of the live singers with their sound quality on their devices. Our wedding was genuinely a DIY wedding ran by the power of Hashem and our community. When Stephen walked into the ceremony space, the most prominent visual part of our wedding, the Chuppah, a canopy in which many Jewish ceremonies take place was not set up. Stephen took time to help our friends and staff with the chuppah. Charlie and Stephen were not required to go beyond expectations, but they did that and then some. Although Charlie markets his work as "cheap videography," he certainly does not cheap out on the quality of their customer service and work. We were close to deciding on cutting out videography from our budget, but we are so pleased we chose to prioritize it as an essential part of our wedding day. https://youtu.be/FiME9qY3UMk?si=NK6riLqz9mXp9z3o read more

Charlie has an incredible eye for detail and a natural talent for storytelling. Read all of this please :) These guys just did my wedding. I really can't say enough good things about these guys. The videographer is extremely friendly and did things I never even thought about putting to film. The photographer is amazing she was more than a photographer. She helped with my necklace lol and other things I wish I could remember them all. So after he got everything back to me faster than he said. But the my dummy self keeps not listening to. Him and watching my full videos. But he called me pretty quickly to walk me through finding a part of the wedding I wanted. Smh silly me but the fact he was so cool about it is just another level to these guys that make them worth it read more

I was hesitant about having videography for our wedding and initially intended not to. though I had already done a lot of research and found Charlie to have some of the most affordable rates I could find. About a couple weeks before our wedding, it really hit me how much it would mean to both of us to be able to use videography as a way to capture even more memories of our day. Both my husband and I are so glad we had this done. Charlie was awesome and able to fit us back in despite the late scheduling. And the videos were fantastic. We had the reception, ceremony and the trailer done. Charlie does awesome work. Another great thing is that Charlie responds to emails quickly (I do most things through email and response time is highly important to me)., and he was very flexible and accommodating. If you are looking for a videographer that is affordable, has great customer service and does beautiful edits, I highly recommend Charlie and his company. read more

Beautiful videos we will cherish forever! We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Charlie to do our wedding video! We had already invested a small fortune on our wedding and were looking for a reasonably priced videographer. When I found this business on Yelp I thought his prices were too good to be true and I was definitely mistaken. Our Trailer video (4 min with our selected song), Ceremony and Reception videos were amazing! The best part was we also received all the unedited raw footage from all the cameras throughout the ceremony and reception. I would highly recommend adding on extra mounted cameras for the continuous raw footage. From the beginning he clearly went through everything with us and asked us questions to ensure we captured what we wanted for our day. His responses were very prompt and accommodating. I didn't realize until after the wedding how happy we were that we chose to do video to capture our special day we spent a small fortune on. We couldn't stop watching the videos. The only thing we didn't like was on the end of the videos was the advertisement. The resolution of the video is not 1080p but 720p HD but it still looks great, especially when you're paying half the normal cost. read more

We really loved our photos and videos from our wedding. They did a great job and we will work with them for future events. I highly recommend. They have affordable rates and high quality. read more

Charlie is amazing! He was very easy to work with, very sweet and worked hard to get everything we wanted on video. I was a little hesitant because everyone says you get what you pay for but in this case we got way more than we expected, high quality service and attention to detail. Thank you Charlie for capturing the mood and vibe of our very special day! I am so glad we have your work to relieve our wedding day for years to come! Fantastic videos! Totally professional, really good quality, nice price, easy to work with. We got exactly what we want. Highly recommended!

We used Charlie for a last minute videographer for our wedding. He is very easy to work with and is super flexible, which is great because planning a wedding is already stressful enough! We got our footage very quickly in the mail and it looks great! Everything we could have asked for and more! read more

Charlie was an amazing videographer! We added video as a last minute thing for our wedding and couldn't be more pleased with that decision. At the end of the day, I've gotten more joy out of watching the videos from the wedding than looking at the pictures. It just takes you back to the moment and you feel like you're re-living it all again. For anyone on the fence, hire Charlie to record your wedding if at all possible. Charlie has many packages to fit any price constraints, and it will be worth any amount you spend. We kept adding to the package and each add-on was worth the money. We paid about half as much as most other videographers charge and have 3 cameras worth of video for about 80% of the moments of the day. You know how when you watch the NFL and get 3 different angles on a replay? Well you'll have that for your Great-Aunt Betty's crazy dance moves when she has had her 3rd Mojito. Charlie was also just a joy to work with. He needed zero instruction and is a complete pro, and he was never in the way (I barely noticed him). He got all the videos including the edited versions back to us within a week. Would hire again but hoping this first wedding will stick ;) read more

We highly recommend Roman / Dj Charlie Walkrich. We were very happy with Roman aka DJ Walkrich for our wedding videography! Our wedding took place on Jan 2014, at Tom Ham's Lighthouse, San Diego. Initially we were only planning to get video for our ceremony, but are very happy that we got video for the entire event! From the very first video samples we noticed Roma's attention to detail (we designed and produced our own wedding, so we would know all the details ), and high quality throughout the video capture. After the wedding we received our first video samples, and we were like "Wow! He got that on video, that looks great! We wouldn't even think about that!". Roman showed us our wedding from the point of view of other guests, and we re-lived our wedding from his point of view many times. In addition to all the standard wedding events such as ceremony, bouquet toss, cake cutting, toasts, etc we got to see many things that we would've never been able to see, because as bride and groom you only have so much time during the wedding. We are still re-living our wedding watching the videos. We also went with Roman's company for the video editing. Needless to say, because there was so much great material to begin with, he did a great job on the more condensed versions as well. Highly recommended! read more

I would recommend Charlie to anyone. Our wedding was on a budget , and he fit all our needs . Charlie did our videography and Suzanne was our photographer. These guys are the best! I wanted to make a nice anniversary video as a gift for one of my family members. This is the only video production company that replied to me and was willing to work with me. I sent them all the video footage via google drive and they sent me the edited version two days later. It was very professionally made but I needed one small change. They took care of it at no extra cost and sent me the new version right away. The entire process was much easier and faster than I had anticipated. The price was also fair. My entire family was very happy and it was a great anniversary surprise. Now the anniversary has already passed but we still have this beautiful video that we can watch over and over again. read more

My fiancée did not want a videographer and pretty much told me "no". We weren't looking for anything fancy and my uncle offered to do it for $1,000, but yet again I was turned down. I decided to search the internet and found their great reviews and their cost to be within my price range, which at that point was nothing. I signed the contract and paid my deposit online. I was hesitant at first since I had no human contact with this company and was a bit worried that this was a scam, but DJ Charlie has always been quick to respond and kept in touch with me throughout the year. They arrived on time and I was able to have the video that same day. They are very professional and worth a lot more than what I paid for. They even gave me a 2nd camera for free. read more

As a vendor it is always nice to work with other vendors that are professional and know what they are doing.... That was my experience with Charlie on June 27, 2015 at the Bernardo Winery. He is a pro and he is excellent at his trade. Charlie and his crew immediately introduced them selves to me upon arrival, and went over all the details with me that were laid out by the bride and groom. Because of Charlie's willingness to work with me, we were able to give our clients a team effort and truly provide quality of service. It made the day go very smooth and in the end, the event was a huge success. If you are looking for quality videography at budget pricing, you need look no further. read more

My wife and I would highly recommend Charlie Walkrich to be your wedding videographer. In March 2015, we had our wedding at Founders Chapel at University of San Diego and the reception at Paradise Point. After a year of planning every detail of the wedding and reception, we were on the fence of whether or not to hire a videographer because we did not have the budget for this service. We actually Googled "Cheap Wedding Videographer San Diego" and Charlie was the result. We decided to give him a chance and it was one of the best decisions that we made. We reserved Charlie a month in advance and the process was seamless. We never met Charlie prior to the wedding but he was easily accessible via email and always responded to our inquiries within a few hours. I would imagine that he would be willing to meet if you felt it was necessary. The one thing that we most appreciated was that in the sign up process, Charlie asked if he or the photographer were to be the primary vendor. We told him that the photographer was the primary. Knowing this, Charlie did an amazing job of capturing all the moments without interfering with the photographer. Our wedding was a Catholic ceremony and Charlie filmed the entire service. It is important to note that Charlie never recorded a Catholic wedding. When he was editing our video he contacted me to let me know that he was not familiar with the service and he was not sure what the most important parts were to be captured in our ceremony video. To make sure that he provided us with what we wanted, he provided multiple options and in the end, we decided to change our initial request and opt for a four minute video summary of the entire service and reception to a song of our choice. It was very well done and all friends and family that viewed the video said "we really hired people that knew what they were doing." Laura and I have watched it many times and it has been a tremendous reminder of our special day. I see that Charlie only has a few recommendations. Do not be fooled or concerned by this. He is trying to build his business and that is a bonus for you because he is trying to prove himself and he will deliver. Not only is he professional, he is genuinely a nice person who cares about the quality of work and enjoyed being a part of our day. You definitely want someone that is happy to be there and enjoys the process as he is the one interacting with your friends and family. If you have any questions or would like to reach out to me directly, you can ask Charlie for my email address and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. read more

I found DJ Charlie and Cheap Wedding Videography here on yelp. At first the name of the business caught my attention "Cheap", lol..definitely I was looking for someone who would be affordable and competitive, while not losing quality. I checked out a few companies, looked at their websites and videos and of course, read the reviews. I felt like I had to talk to a few. Though my wedding coordinator and photographer had not heard of him, I still felt that couldn't sway me. After seeing videos and reading reviews, I sent a contact message to Charlie. Here's where Charlie really caught my attention and in a short time, won me over. I had questions, quite a few and in each email I exchanged with Charlie, he was quick to respond, always very professional and polite and made me feel comfortable asking as much as I needed before my choice. I put a lot of info into my messages (clearly) and he pulled out everything I was asking about and in detail, responded. He would also ask me questions that would help him understand what my vision was and give me an idea of what having extra cameras or another person would mean. Once I decided and mailed my contract and deposit, and ongoing payments, he'd confirm he received them and would give me any updated contract info. He asked me for my other professionals info I had contracted with for the event so he could reach out to them and coordinate. On the day of they showed up as arranged at our hotel to take pre wedding video of me and my girls getting ready, my wedding attire and the groom & guys. The wedding was a blur and I was so focused on the whirlwind day, I hardly noticed them working.. It wasn't until I got our videos back and I could see what all his work turned out to be. I watched the trailer from my phone w/several others and everyone thought it was really good. Even my husband commented he was really glad we went with him and at first wasn't sure (the name). Here's the thing, in pricing other videographers, they were very expensive...DJ Charlie's pricing was more affordable, the videos are beautiful!! They captured all the important moments and more. With the pricing, I was able to upgrade to have an additional videographer and another camera. I had my trailer back in a few days and I believe I had my my ceremony and reception back in a week. He was working on in July 4th! Wow. I didn't expect the video back quite that fast. I would absolutely hire Charlie again, no doubt. I don't know about everyone else, but I often feel like customer service is hard to find. With DJ Charlie, we got outstanding customer service. Thank you DJ Charlie, it was a pleasure to work w/you. read more

I was so pleased with DJ Charlie. He responded quickly and honestly and was so pleasant to work with. Wedding day, 7/25/14, he sent his assistant. She showed up on time, was quiet and blended in and I did not even notice her. She captured all the important moments and so much more. The editing was done professionally and I was so pleased I chose cheap wedding videography. The cost was 1/4 cheaper than all the other videographers I received quotes from. I am glad I chose the package with two cameras and highly recommend Roman (Cheap Wedding Videography). read more

Charlie and David did an amazing job at our wedding! We weren't sure if we would be able to get a videographer and cut it down to the wire. They were available on very short notice..a week in advance kind of short notice! And were very affordable and great people. David did a wonderful job getting video of everything we wanted and needed on our big day. We couldn't be happier! Charlie was the videographer at our wedding and reception downtown and he was fantastic! He was professional, diligent, very response (I often received replies from him within minutes). He was constantly monitoring the best camera angles and made appropriate adjustments. I could tell that he really cares about his job and wants to make the customer happy. He even helped our other vendors do their job when he saw that they were struggling! He put together an amazing video compilation of the ceremony and interviews with guests and sent it out promptly. You must hire Charlie to be the videographer for your next event. read more

As a bride on a budget I initially never intended to have videography at our wedding in order to keep our costs down. Then, one day when discussing wedding planning, a friend of mine explained to me that one of her biggest regrets of her wedding was not getting any of it on video, especially the moments that her and her groom never actually got to see that day. After giving it some thought, what my friend said really hit home and although I really didn't want to spend ANY more money, I knew I would probably regret it too, if I didn't hire a videographer. Since a videographer was an unexpected expense at this point, I was definitely looking to find someone who wasn't over the top expensive, but would still provide me with decent video quality. I turned to YELP and that's where I found GGSE. Most of the videography reviews matched exactly my description of affordable for decent quality. From the first time I contacted Charlie (the owner), he has always been super friendly and professional with quick email responses. When you are ready to book he has you fill out a short, but thorough intake survey of basically your wants/expectations of your videographer, which I thought was a great idea to make sure that we were all the the same page for the big day. It wasn't until the day of my wedding, after my ceremony was done, that I first met our videographer, Alex. During the ceremony I noticed that 2 cameras were in place and that we were also being filmed by Alex. Alex had a total of 3 video cameras that he was managing effortlessly, all by himself. After the ceremony was over, Alex, like a true professional stayed right on que and continued capturing footage as when took our bridal party and family portrait photos. Although we knew that Alex was there, because we could obviously see him, he was very unobtrusive and stayed out of the way of our photographer (which is what we wanted) while still managing to capture everything with his video cameras. We hardly noticed him filming during our reception as well, exactly as we wanted. After the wedding, we received the USB with our raw video footage within a fews days. While we were sitting down watching all of the video footage, it was awesome to really be able to relive the day and see moments that we didn't actually get to see on our wedding day. We are so glad that we decided to hire a videographer after all! For the price and the quality we were very pleased with the video footage we got. Infact, we thought that the raw footage that Alex captured was so great that we decided to go ahead and pay for the edited video trailer of both of ceremony and reception. If you're looking to hire a wedding videographer on a budget, then GGSE is your company, and you won't be disappointed if you request Alex as your videographer. read more

Charlie was extremely quick to respond to all my questions, and was extremely helpful in helping my fiancé and I choose (and customize) the video packages offered. I requested that the videographer be extremely discreet in filming (I didn't want any of the guests' view to be blocked!) and I honestly didn't notice the videographer during the ceremony and reception--they really honored our request which was wonderful! Got the raw footage less than a week after the wedding--looks wonderful, and for a really amazing price! read more

I hired them to provide sound equipment, uplighting, custom gobo monogram and videography services for my wedding. Working with DJ Charlie was really easy. He responded to all of my emails very fast and he took the time to answer every single one of my questions. I really enjoyed their "easy online booking/planning system" and I'm glad I didn't have to make any phone calls, leave voice messages, then wait for a call back, then call again, etc. Everything was done online! On the day of the wedding their staff was very polite, friendly, helpful and professional. The sound was great and our dance floor was packed the entire evening. The lights looked very beautiful and everyone was taking pictures in front of our gobo :) The video turned out great too. I got the "raw" package but I think I will hire them to do the editing now. I can't stress enough how grateful I am for all the services you provided and I will be recommending you to everyone I know! read more

I'm not sure where to even begin but I, we cant give Charlie enough praise! He was quick to reply when I was inquiring about information regarding his videography services. We live in LA but planned a wedding for November in San Diego, so needless to say it was a bit of work having to hire most of our vendors through phone calls. Charlie made this process so easy and put all our worries to rest when he arrived early and ready for our big day. Do not let his gentle demeanor fool you, he is brilliant at what he does and knows exactly what you want without even having to tell him. With all the chaos that comes with the wedding day, he was a ray of stress free sunshine! His work is excellent and is on point when delivering the videos and even surprised us with shots we didn't even know he took. We were very happy and blessed to have found Charlie and his company and know that anyone who hires him will be just as pleased!! Thanks a million times Charlie!! read more

I am very happy to recommend Charlie Walkrich and Cheap Wedding Videography. Charlie video recorded our wedding. I give him five stars, because for the low price, you cannot get this great quality of work anywhere. Yes, you can spend $4,000 and get something finer. But most of us just don't have that kind of money. I must say that we made it quite a challenge for Charlie and his assistant to record our wedding ceremony. We had an unorthodox set-up, with our family sitting in a semi-circle around us, and we were casually moving about in unpredictable ways, to keep the feeling relaxed. I insisted that none of Charlie's four cameras be viewable from the point of view of our still photographer, limiting the angles from which he could record. This was a challenge for sure. But the end result was really pleasing, well lit, and it truly captured the warmth and comfort of our ceremony. Charlie is a superb editor, and was able to keep the sound consistent and seamless, even though it was coming from different cameras at different times. Even in our low-light environment, without using any extra spot-lighting, the images are clear and colorful. Charlie believes in clear communication in delivering his services. Phone calls and emails are returned quickly. He discusses exactly what you are expecting and what he will be delivering. He is consistently polite and attentive. He is also very forgiving with clients (like myself) who can be fussy, indecisive, and a bit anxious. Once all the recording is done, Charlie was quick to deliver a finished product - a fully edited video of our ceremony. I was surprised to have the video available within a week of the ceremony. I want to be realistic here - if you have $4,000 to budget a wedding video, that would be a better choice, because more expensive cameras would be used, capturing greater detail and a more polished final product. But for those of you who want a wonderful record of your wedding for less than $2,000, Charlie Walkrich is your safest choice. Thank-you, Charlie! read more
