It can be really difficult to take photos with a young child but they really tried their best to entertain and make my baby smile. My husband and I enjoyed our photoshoot and truly had a fun time. I scheduled a session in February for March 2020, but due to COVID the session had to be canceled. I reached out to the owner June in May 2020 and requested a refund since we were moving out of state and she said no. I said okay I understand but COVID was not any of our faults, I would reschedule later when it was safe and make the few hour trip. She said, you have until June or you lose your deposit. I said what? NYC is not even in phase 1 yet at the time and it was almost June 2020. I had to fight to extend my sessions schedule time frame date to July (literally beg for this to be extended through the summer but she would not budge), and the owner did not even want to do that despite governor and mayor mandates. Anyway, I said I would drive 2 hours and make the session happen if it was safe to do so. After several emails, she finally agreed to extending the timeframe to sometime in July, and I said I would reach out in a few weeks once we know what is going on with the pandemic. Now fast forward to mid June, and NYC is still in phase 1. I emailed June Photography and asked her if we could push my session 8 days later (to August 8 or anytime after that, whatever worked for her) because I was pregnant and wanted to safely get my hair treated and be out of the dangerous first trimester I was facing as a high risk pregnant woman. I had my previous son at 33 weeks, so I am worried about pre term labor again. June said there is nothing she can do and refused to work with me to offer an August date, which is just a few days after her unreasonable July timeframe. I explained to her I have a high risk pregnancy and begged her via email to extend her unreasonable July deadline just a few days so I can keep myself and my baby safe, but no she would not. After throughly reviewing the contract, it clearly states that I have two reschedule credits (those which I never used) so she is not abiding by that part of the contract. In addition there is a clause that mentions if an emergency or act of God happens (which HELLO COVID IS a national pandemic emergency/act of God) and if we cannot agree on a date together, I am entitled to my refund back. Two options June both said she WILL NOT DO! She will not let me use my reschedule credits and will not refund despite the emergency. This is really unreasonable and so unfair given what is going on world wide. I wanted to support her business, I wanted to take the photos even if it meant driving two hours away, but she made it so hard for me to work with her. I know this is a stressful time and everyone is overwhelmed but I do not deserve to be treated this way. All I did was ask for a few days beyond the hard deadline she gave me (which she told me to schedule a session by July 31 or lose your money even though NYC was not even in phase 1 at the time and had no timeline as to when phase 1 would even begin) to make my session happen. My main concern is to keep my unborn child and I safe! If COVID was not happening or I was not expecting this would not be an issue, but unfortunately this was handled very very wrong and I plan to contact my bank regarding this transaction and provide all the emails of what happened and the contract as well. Because of this situation, I do not recommend June Photography at all and suggest you look into another for your photo needs if this is how she is going to treat her customers during a pandemic that are high risk. This pandemic surely changed her and impacted her ability to work well with her customers, which is really sad and disappointing.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for these amazing artists!…read more I was initially a bit hesitant about whether it would be worth it to spend the time and money to take maternity portraits; a dear friend encouraged me to take the leap, and I am so so glad I decided to and even more delighted that I found Glow Portraits. If you are considering it and can budget for it, let me be the one to encourage you to DO IT. Thank me later :) Communication was superb. Sophie responds very quickly to questions via phone and email from before booking to session prep to post shoot follow up. Anabella, our photographer, was incredible. She made the experience a complete pleasure, and gave very precise directions that made for simply stunning shots. I often feel a bit awkward on camera, but somehow she got both me and my love posing like pros. The makeup artist also did a truly beautiful job. The proofs and finished images are beyond gorgeous. It was so tough to choose our favorites (we ended up buying some extra images because there were too many we loved). If you're looking at the galleries on their site (like I was) and wondering whether your images can possibly come out as ethereal and magical, the answer is YES. 6/5 stars for the amazing team at Glow Portraits. Thank you for everything!!!

WOW, what an incredible experience from start to finish…read more I booked a maternity session, but unfortunately, my daughter arrived two months early and I had to cancel it. I was heartbroken -- not just because I missed the chance to document my pregnancy, but because everything felt so overwhelming at the time. But what truly blew me away was the kindness and care Sophie showed. She continued to check in on me and my baby as time went on including throughout our NICU journey. A year later, I reached back out to book a baby session -- and it turned out to be even more special. Not only did I finally get the experience and memories that I'd dreamed of, but I got to share it with my daughter who is now healthy, thriving, and full of life. The final photos are absolutely breathtaking, and I will be forever grateful to Sophie and the team at glow portraits for turning such a difficult chapter in my life into beautiful memories that we can cherish forever.
