I messed up and pulled away with it connected, yes, my bad. He talked me through re-connecting the wires and in 15minutes we were ready to leave Yanks RV for our next stop. Uriel is an upstanding person and he know's his profession. We were lucky that he made the time to help us as he was preparing to leave for his own vacation! I have had the unfortunate need to use Chavez RV twice will passing through the area. Last February a slide cable broke on my fifth wheel. I stopped at another shop and they diagnosed the issue but said they would need to order parts. Even after multiple calls from San Benito and one drive back to the shop they never called with status. I happened to see Uriel and his son driving through the campground and flagged them down. They came over to my unit to see for themselves and two days later they had the repair completed at a fair price. This week I was driving through Morgan Hill and my trailer brakes failed due to the brake away controller failing. I spent two days trying to find someone local to look at it with no success. it was then I remember Chavez RV was in Salinas. I called Thursday morning and they made it to my location in the afternoon to diagnose the issues. My husband, daughters and I have been on a road trip for over a month now and we all of a sudden had an issue with a slideout on our RV on the morning we were leaving Monterey. Bought a new Forest River Travel Trailer, and when we arrived in the Salinas/Monterey KOA in Prunedale, we developed a pretty substantial leak below the sink. I asked the main office for a recommendation for service, and they referred me to Chavez RV out of Salinas. I called, and the owner, Uriel, told me that he was booked all day but that if I could hang by the phone, he would try to work us in. He called about an hour later to tell me he was on the way! Uriel and his son, Miguel, were quick, informative, friendly, and efficient. They actually spent more time giving us information about our pressure regulator and tips for working with family than they did fixing the leak! Their price was less than what we expected to pay for a service call fee, let alone for a full repair, and we could not be more pleased. We had damage to our trailer power tongue jack on our recent camping trip. The trailer jumped off of the ball hitch and fell to the ground. I called Uriel Chavez and he promptly set up an appointment to come out to look at it in the storage area where it is located. Uriel called me the morning of the appointment and we arranged a time to meet. Uriel showed up right on time along with his son who works alongside Uriel. Uriel was very professional and he explained everything that needed to be done. He and his son removed the existing trailer jack and were able to repair the damage and reinstall the jack right there at the storage location. We pulled into Marina Dunes RV park with a problem with one of the slides on our 5th wheel. The recommended repair service wasn't available for 3 days. Called Chavez, he was there in 30 minutes and had the issue resolved in about 30 more minutes. One of the brackets on the slide track had lost 2 bolts and the whole slide was off track, wouldn't open or close fully. Fix was fast, less expensive than I expected, and he was super friendly. Had pulled into Marina Dunes RV Park. Our jack wouldn't work. We couldn't get it off of the hitch. We were helped by the staff at the park getting it off of the hitch. Chavez Mobile RV Repair was recommended to us. The next day I called him and he told us between 11:00 and 12:00 he would be there. He arrived a half hour early. Mr. Chavez took the electrical jack apart and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. The jack worked perfect! He also showed me a few things about the jack that I didn't know. What an amazing and good person! The cost was fantastic! It would have probably cost us 3 times the amount that he charged. Thanks for making the rest of our vacation smooth and easy!! I called Chavez Mobile Repair on Wed. His voice mail was full so I sent him a text message. First thing Thursday morning he called me I explained that I believed my water pump was bad. I explained that the power was lighting up but the pump wasn't turning on. We then did a facetime and he said he could order the pump and replace it late Friday. Friday about 12:00 noon he called and said he would be out to my campsite in 20 minutes. He showed up with his son and the 2 of them replaced my pump in about an hour. This review is about a month late... I have two RVs here in Monterey. One is about 6 months old and the other is 7 years old. I had a black tank failure on the new RV, I was pointed to Uriel for the repair. Since we are living full time in the RV, he performed a temp repair on site, then ordered a new tank through Keystone. When the new tank was delivered, he came back out to repair on site....All was good, but the on repair site was not ideal, which we developed another black tank leak. It progressed to a mess. He asked us to let him have it for 5 days and he would make it right. We dropped it off, got a hotel room, and he replaced the black tank again and did a fabulous job. Total lifesaver. We had a worn out power cable to our trailer, had to stop over in Greenfield until we could get it repaired. Our roadside service couldn't find anyone to do it until Monday ; the front desk at the RV park suggested Uriel. Horrible! They charged us $3000 to completely re-roof our 5th wheel about 3or 4 years ago. Roof tore off while we were on our way for our vacation. A roof should have lasted much longer, especially since we keep our rig covered while not in use! Worthless...we need it re-roofed again! read more
