This is my second time dealing with Sweeneys Garage on Bridgefoot st. Their treatment of me is exceptional. Ash assessed my problem , and offered to drop me home while the car was repaired. This in itself was incredibly kind. Before he did so he tried something , and fixed it completely , within minutes....and get this, no charge! I actually cried. It is hard moving through this world with a disability, but kindness like this is rare and valuable. I will be recommending Sweeneys garage to all. I finally have a garage I can trust! Had to get tracking done and asked if they could identify what the knocking noise could be on my…read morecar which was to do with the front suspension, they have checked and noticed a part which was on its way out that another mechanic didn't identify. Got booked in a week later, on the day after changing the parts the noise has indeed reduced! But there was something else causing the clunking noise.. they gladly invited me to come back around a few hours later after i called in. We did a test drive with one of the mechanics who was very helpful; he has lifted up the car again and checked through again and has found that the previous mechanic didn't tighten the droplinks correctly. He has tightened them correctly and long behold the noise was completely gone! No extra charge and a lot of peace of mind!! Would recommend!

The car…read moreon Saturday started overheating again so I rang them and they asked to bring the car down to them on Monday. I tried phoning them Monday but couldn't get an answer the phone kept ringing out, so no one answered, as I wanted to let them know that I couldn't drive the car that far and I was going to have to take my cat to another garage nearer to me, just 2 mins away from me. I did that and the other garage fixed it, the pipe near the water pump was loose and the clip halfway down. And they had to modify it to make sure it fitted. It cost me 120 euro, as I said I couldn't drive the car to Donnybrook as it would have been to dangerous for me to drive thar far. I am disappointed.

I have been making excuse not to use it for the last month and now I have a doozey, the front right hand tyre has a huge gouge out of it I hadn't noticed before. Eventually I had to pluck up the courage to move from my lovely Micra to the 2.4 Ltr tank that is the S60. My first port of call was Fast Fit. The guys are helpful and friendly, gave me all sorts of advice, replaced the tyre (a crippling 110 Eur) and then said...erm.. how long have you been driving this car? I say something in the region of 30 mins, they say "your breaks are shot to hell, not safe, we can fix em" Well, the shop does say fast fix.. I say ok, I drop the car in 2 days later and 90 mins after that I am road legal and safe again. Now all I have to do is learn how to park the blasted thing.....
