A fabulous place for lunch or dinner, plus a hotel. It's a large complex, absolutely beautiful, also suitable for conferences or weddings.
It's a Relais and Chateaux property so you automatically know that the quality is exceptional.
It was interesting and wonderful to just see the property with manicured gardens and outdoor contemporary sculpture.
There are a few dining venues.
We first went to the main building with a very refined and elegant restaurant. A very kind and professional man at reception explained the menu.
Since we were interested in a more simple lunch menu he cordially directed us to the bistro type restaurant in an old barn building on the property.
We were greeted at the bistro, "Burgenmeester Quicx" with an extraordinary interior, so well appointed yet casual.
The menu was wonderful with an array of sandwiches, salads, soups and burger. I ordered a small soup of the day, pumpkin soup, and by far was one of the best soups ever. Creamy, rich and tasty it came with two large chunks of a dark farmer's bread and butter. It had herbs on top and it was amazing. YUM!
Then I had the roasted beet salad with nuts and greens, raisins and cheese. It was so good with a light dressing. It also came with the same bread and I was more than delighted.
Four of us shared two bottles of sparkling water which was perfect.
Service was excellent, so professional.
