I had high hopes for hosting my wedding at Chateau Mille Fleurs, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The picturesque scenery and elegant setup that were promised was nowhere to be seen in reality. We showed up to decorate on the day before the wedding and ended up cleaning and moving heavy furniture left from the previous wedding, which was two weeks prior. I was belittled, treated like a hired hand. Here's a breakdown of the major issues we encountered:
1. Poor Communication: Emails went unanswered for days, unprofessional visits to the venue, gaslighting, passive aggressive comments, and absolute confusion. The day of the wedding, text messages and phone calls were unanswered for a long period of time when family and friends arrived at the venue to complete setup. This lack of communication caused significant stress and uncertainty.
2. Unkept Grounds: Upon arrival, the grounds were not well-maintained. The lawn was overgrown, flower beds were neglected, the outdoor pews were full of bird droppings. There was visible debris in several areas closest to the house, and while it is a private residence as well, it is an eye sore for guests when they arrive. We were promised that the area would be cleaned up prior to the wedding. It was evident that the venue had not been properly prepared for our event.
3. Unprofessional Staff: The owners were inattentive and unprofessional. They appeared disorganized and lacked the hospitality we expected. There were delays in service, and they were outright rude to our guests. We had asked to have tent sides put up due to the extreme heat inside the tent and were met with resistance. It was evident that this was an inconvenience. The day of our wedding it was over 30 degrees outside, so you can imagine the heat inside of the tent.
4. Lack of Backup Plan: Despite being an outdoor venue, there was no adequate backup plan for inclement weather. We were met with resistance once again when asked to have the tent sides put down due to inclement weather and were told that we chose to have the sides up, so they would stay that way. Sadly, we were left scrambling to protect the venue's décor, and ourselves from the storm. This caused chaos and dampened the mood of our celebration. Not to mention we were told that they venue sprayed for mosquitos and ticks, and while I understand weather and bugs are unpredictable, however several guests had ticks on them, and we were left scrambling again due to a swarm of mosquitos. Our reception was cut short by 2.5 hours as guest ran to their cars.
5. Poor Restroom Facilities: The restroom facilities were far from acceptable. They were not cleaned properly, lacked sufficient supplies, and were told that they would come fully stocked. This was highly embarrassing and inconvenient for our guests.
Overall, Chateau Mille Fleurs failed to deliver on their promises and did not provide the quality of service we were led to expect. Our wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives, but the numerous issues at this venue left us feeling disappointed and regretful of our choice of venue. I would not recommend this venue to anyone looking for a seamless and enjoyable wedding experience. read more
