We weren't picking up any public wi-fi, but M did notice we got wi-fi from a closed cafe downtown when we sat within a block of it. Then I discovered Internet and Euro Cafe. It's on a side-street down a hill and has computers. Yay? We run in, sit down on the couch... we're still getting the wi-fi from the nearby coffee shop, but that's it. We talk to the owner and she said the internet provider wouldn't allow her to have wireless. We tried to explain she could just hook up a wireless router and give out the password... but I don't think she understood. She said we were free to sit as long as we wanted (without paying anything) and use the wi-fi we picked up. We bought a bottle of soda, $.50, and tried to give her a dollar for it. She wouldn't take it. Did I mention we're the only people in the cafe? How does this place stay open? Unlike every coffee shop we found, the Euro Cafe's hours run from noonish to almost midnight every day. So if you need to use a computer and everything else is closed, you'll find about 20 open ones here. As a disclaimer, it's kind of the basement of the building, so there's a distinct smell and it kind of feels like one of the dingy internet cafes we used in the UK. After a long talk and info on my brother lap top that's 11 yrs old, we decided to just bite the bullet and buy a new one. So we bought a 16" Max Pro. Steven was easy to talk to and very very patient with me as I didn't know what I was talking about! Steven will delete all the junk off old one and then download rest onto new one this coming week. It's a trip into the past. There's a great selection of tapes, DVDs, Blu-ray. There's both classic and new releases, I saw they had the latest Avatar movie on Blu-ray, which I saw in theaters not too long ago. There's also videogames as well, from Wii to PS4. DPS also offers computer repair and sells movies and games as well. This place is a gem. There was a movie I couldn't find on streaming and from the 90s, so it'd never be at Redbox. I found it here! Rented it for a couple bucks, just like the good old days. Being able to browse the varied selection is something I really miss from the 90s, and I'm glad that a place like this is still around.
