I've used their services for years cause clearly i'll never learn my lesson. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. Whenever i am looking for a job, i am asked to come in, fill out a job application and meet with their headhunters. But i've used their services multiple times. Why is my info not saved in your database? The odd part is, i keep getting asked to come and interview with the same headhunter over and over again. You've met me already. How many times do you need to look at me to perform invisible biased? This means judging me by my looks, height, weight, ethnicity, and whether i am perky enough to send out, etc. It goes on and on. Here is the thing, if they want to collect resumes to sell them to third parties for $$ (allegedly) they should say so. Its so pathetic, unproductive, and just an insult to constantly waste my time and yours to provide false hope. This place is so packed and busy because they are so skilled at creating this illusion they are in high demand with tons of jobs, as if they are placing jobs for everyone in all of NYC and some parts of NJ. That couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth. They are actors getting a paycheck to appear as busy bodies. Sign me up. I wanna get a paycheck and do nothing all day. The last time i was in here, i let the headhunter have it. I called him out on his BS. I told him: Do you seriously want to get me a job or just waste my time? Do you want commission $$ or not? All you do is collect resumes. I've used your services so many times and its been nothing but a dead end. You don't think its odd the last 4 times i used you, i ended up getting a job all on my own? He gagged in silence and just couldn't take my brutal honesty. I wonder how he pays his rent because he surely is not helping anyone in the 5 boros land a job. To close things off, i ended up finding a job all on my own the last 5 times that i was in the market. That is 5 times they missed out on their commission $$ (thousands of dollars). Here is the thing, i am your secondary client. The firm you are recruiting for is your primary client. I get that. But when i send an email asking for a status update, i expect a response. Typing: NO UPDATE is easy. No one is asking for their first born child or a blood sample. I drop to drop everything for them, but they can't type a 5 second email to provide a status update? Really?!? Every time i ask if they are working on any new jobs, i get dead air. This firm really has a pair of elephant sized balls. How they don't bleed when he walks is beyond me. Just unbelievable. I wish them well even though they missed out on commission $$ 5 times in a row. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Although I have yet to find a job, the recruiter I'm working with is definitely a gem to work with. She's always calling and emailing to find out how my job search is going and to give me details on new job openings. She has already gotten me 2 interviews. I interviewed for one job I didn't really like but she found me another interview at another company not long after that. Let's see how this 2nd interview goes...

I reached out to Ariana late last year to help fix up my resume. I hadn't updated it in a long time…read moreand it was 3 pages long (Crikey!). I emailed her my original resume and told her the kind of jobs I was looking for / industry. Ariana very promptly emailed back a breakdown of my resume and notes on what could be tweaked or taken out entirely. After a few emails back and fourth Ariana sent me a few versions of my resume in different formats for me to choose from. Throughout the process Ariana was very communicative and explained why she had chosen to keep / take out certain parts. As a result, I received many more calls for interviews and just accepted a job offer! I would highly recommend Yay Resumé for anyone who needs help fixing up their resume.

What can I say other than John completely hit it out of the park for me and some! I am around 40…read moreand am a mid-senior level professional and since the pandemic I had deviated from the corporate sector a little and hired John to get to the next level of my career. More specially, my resume needed work as I was getting little to no response on LinkedIn. In all fairness, I have never really had to use a resume as I have always gotten jobs through my relationships. However, this needed to change to meet new market demands. I have also found writing them to be extremely difficult, somewhat artificial, and just gross. But John has a unique gift! After our one-on-one call in which we connected, John to my surprise and delight was able to not only come away with what I had done, where I currently am in my career and what I am looking to do but to also understand what all that meant together in its entirety. I have often struggled and I consider myself a pretty good communicator & writer with my resume. The balance of getting it all in, being specific but also general enough to make you the most marketable you can be for various roles. There is a fine line for anyone to express this but for John to so eloquently and dare I say almost effortlessly write me the best resume I have had! While it's all true and honest it made me feel good to read what I had done! I would hire me! John is a class act, a hard worker as I know he spent a lot of effort on making my resume shine like it did. I have not even spoken about the LinkedIn updating he did on my behalf and the cover letter. If his resume writing ability is an A+ then his linked in profile writing and enhancement and cover letter writing are A+ squared. I will always recommend John and Five Star Resume to all my friends and colleagues who need this service. I cannot believe that I found him after interviewing 3 people from proposals I received on LinkedIn. What a gift and I trust a relationship in which we will help each other for years to come.

Becca brings incredible energy and our time together was enlightening and so much FUN!…read more I think a fundamental problem for me initially was not knowing why I felt the way I did. I had a vision of how things should be; but didn't really see how to make it possible because they were a radical shift. What made her approach unique is rebuilding things from the ground up; by understanding belief systems that shape the way we act in career and life; and how they are intertwined. I was surprised and excited about this new way of thinking. I also work in product in the area of behavior science and health so all this was really fascinating to me. She's an active listener, and a master at making hard things simple. The different exercises and techniques she recommended relevant to my questions helped me gain a lot of clarity. She creates space for you to grow, envision what you want to create and make it happen. I learned a lot about balance, quickly building momentum, and a new lens of evaluating goals and which of them are really worth it (which is often the question that's overlooked!). Becca has a brilliant mind and I love that I was able to tap into more of my emotional intelligence and self-awareness because of her.

I'm delighted to add my voice to those who have had a great experience with Becca. As someone who…read morehas done a lot of personal growth work and has had a regular meditation practice in the past, I technically "knew" what I needed to do to get my life and work back on track, but I wasn't able to get there on my own. Becca's program and support made it possible for me to get back to my real, authentic self, unburdened of all the layers of survival tactics that had gotten me through some hard years but were no longer serving me. Becca's approach was a great fit for me because she works from the belief that even the most tactical professional goals have emotional underpinnings, and if one doesn't account for these--both the "why" of true motivation and the "yeah, but" of limiting beliefs--there's not much that can be done through pure willpower. Just holding someone accountable doesn't do the trick! Through the several weeks in which we worked together I felt comfortable sharing with Becca and supported as if by a good friend. She is astute in finding connections, but gentle in introducing them, tending instead to help elicit the same connections through perspicacious questions. While Becca's system for action planning is already helping me to balance the work I do for higher-leverage tasks and to make sure I have time for strategy and deep thinking, I think the most precious result I am already enjoying is in the emotional space. I was "frozen" and having trouble accessing my feelings after some years of many changes and big losses, and now I am in tune with my feelings, journaling and meditating again. Becca offered me not only knowledge and strategy, but also the caring support I needed to get back to myself.
