Fast, friendly service, beautiful view of the lake, tasty walleye dinner, delightful fruit salad, plentiful free parking, gorgeous old school lobby, elegant bathrooms. I took off a star because I don't think it was a $25 walleye dinner, especially when the wild rice side and seasonal veggie sides were barely lukewarm. But otherwise, try it!

Good but they lose your reservation. The place has new furniture in the condos and it is nice. Pretty clean inside but the carpet looks not too good.

We have been visiting Walker for many years as we have family who own a cabin in the area. We have a large family reunion every two years and this year was my family who were responsible for hosting it. We originally made our reservation block under the previous ownership and then after it was sold, I reached back out worried that everything was lost. Israel was SO accommodating and helpful, ensuring everything stayed as it was and we had the room block we originally had. Fast forward to our stay and the accommodations were EVERYTHING!! The ballroom for the weekend for our family activities, to the pool and beach, to the onsite 502 Restaurant, you can see how much effort Israel puts into his hotel and making a new name for itself! Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed the reunion weekend and everything about Chase on the Lake (and downtown Walker). I'm pretty sure the next family to host has already made the decision to come back here again! Thank you again for everything Israel and the entire staff, you made our weekend a memorable one!

I really liked this place. The room was dated but modern. It was very clean and had everything you would expect in a hotel. The bed was comfortable over my 3-night stay. Housekeeping was very good. Check in was no problem and without delay. The hotel had many amenities for the rainy days that you are stuck inside. The place had a restaurant that was good in many ways. Food and dining experience. The outside summer dining option offered great views of the lake. Place is close to downtown Walker and the bike trail is right out the front door. The place had many docks which you can fish from if you wish. Overall great place to spend the night....or two!

I love how this place is so welcoming and unique. I truly feel like home and everything was perfect and clean. We even had a note next to our bed from the House Keeping. Of all the places I have stayed, this is my first welcoming note. Whoever left that was a genius. The food was superrrrrrrrr delicious. Our waitress was very attending and recommended things in the menu that was off the hook. She by the way got a $30 tip which is double the amount of 15%. And the best part was the live music. He entertained the crowd very much. The result of his music got people to enjoy their meal and even dance on the floor. I plan on visiting again. A job well done everyone.

Our room wasn't very clean. We found Cheetos on the floor and still inside the couch. There is plaster missing from the wall. Plus tonight we went down to the bar and tried to play music on the juke box and they wouldn't turn it up. What a disappointment. If we are paying so much money for a great experience and I fill like we didn't earn it. Night two stay, we notice that when we take showers in the walk in shower the whole bathroom gets wet! My youngest felled and chipped her chin open on the skin....it was a good size wound. I went and told the desk that they should think of something to help with the water and the guy said that's why we have bath mats. No shit. I had a bath mat down and towels covering the floor to help soak up the water. The toilet was covered in water too! Plus there was no shower shelves to hold soaps. Not impressed!

The owners of this resort are very nice and friendly. You can rent out one of their six cabins or a spots for an RV. They have a Lodge right away when you get to the resort where you can check in and out as well as buy beer on tap. They also carry other beverages, ice cream, convince items, and also a variety of other things. They also have free coffee there in the mornings. This resort is right on Leech Lake and has its own private boat ramp attached to their marina. Right by the marina, they also have a wood fired oven available for their guest to use, and you will definitely want to use it. While we stayed here, we used the wood fired oven twice and it was amazing. They also have canoes and kayaks for guests to use, which were very fun. They have a small beach for people and also a small dog beach. A lighthouse is also located by the dog beach area. Overall this was a great resort to stay at for vacation. It had everything we needed and you can't beat the location. Being able to sit in the morning and view the lake is truly great.

From its shoreline and docks you can watch both sunrises and sunsets. If you are an avid photographer, as I am, Woodland is the most photogenic resort on the lake. Woodland is not Twin-Cities Glitz. It's a traditional family/fisherman's resort. As a good friend of mine from the area says, "It's an example of the kind of resorts that made the lake so popular." And, probably one of the reasons why Woodland has such a high percentage of returning guests. But, the best attributes of Woodland Resort, are Mike and Kelly, the owners. Mike grew up on the resort when his mom and dad owned it. And, if memory serves me, he and his wife, Kelly, were married there. They are Woodland resort. Some of our most enjoyable times have been sitting on the lodge's deck talking with them. If, you're looking for a wonderful, traditional Leech Lake resort experience, give Mike and Kelly a call. Woodland is always our first choice.

Breakfasts were good and the place was really quiet at night. It also has a really nice, good-sized indoor pool. It's located just on the outskirts of the town so there's plenty of shopping and lake access in a very short walking/driving distance. Best of all, loons in the lake! Cons: The rooms, or at least the one we had, are a bit dated. Everything certainly looked clean, but definitely a bit worn down. One special note, for those getting the 'economy' room (307?); the bathroom needs some rework. The shower could fit 4 people easily, but the toilet is unbelievably low and is jammed into a corner, making the 'sit down' experience a bit of an adventure. I'm 5' 8" and 225 lbs., and it was definitely an 'issue.' If you're bigger than me, avoid this room until they redo the bathroom. Definitely not enough to take a star off, but something you and they should be aware of.

All in all, I just couldn't bring myself to give this place even 3 stars. I also had to pay an extra $10 pet deposit bringing up the total amount I spent to $107 Which I feel was too much for a hotel that doesn't really supplied the things that are necessary. Won't be staying here again thank goodness.
