The app and website are down way too much and phone calls for technical support after hours? A robot that can only offer to change your password. And despite having direct deposit for over 25 years...they told us a couple months ago that we didn't qualify for online check deposits on the app because we didn't do enough business through the account. This despite having paid off three car loans with them. One as recently as last year. It was really nice to walk into a branch and be recognized and called by name and to reach a human being when a phone call was necessary. We are looking at ending our longstanding relationship with what we see as a much changed business.

I've never had a banker go above and beyond for me like that. he answered all my questions, he told me a potential issues that might occur with some of my paperwork, and he explained how to avoid fees. I hope the rest of my experience with this bank goes as well as my first day, I will have to wait and see though. I will also add, while I was doing my appointment there were tons of friendly people coming and going and the tellers were all very friendly and everybody was greeting everybody. They aren't terrible so far. We got a car loan at a very low rate. We didn't have an account…read moreprior to that. (We bank at Hughes Federal Credit Union typically). I have to say that Hughes is far superior; no mistakes, more convenient. Because I have a loan, we opened a savings and checking accounts. Within 7 months, there have been two annoying mistakes. I would say watch your accounts. 1. We were somehow enrolled in bill pay about 3 months in. That was a monthly charge. I caught it and they politely reversed the charges but I did not sign up for this service. 2. They took an extra payment from our Savings for the car loan on month 7. Our car payment is supposed to come from Hughes. They took that payment and they took one from our Savings at TFCU in July 2022. I called and they said we were enrolled in autopay from our TFCU savings. WE NEVER enrolled in this. They can't tell me how this originated. I had to sign paperwork to reverse this and they were friendly about it. BUT I am leery that there have been two mistakes made in such a short time. Good points: They are friendly and the customer support chats on the phone app are very easy to use and responsive. They gave me a great rate on my car loan.
