I came back to find remedy in my mistake it was quite a mess up but was found to be in good hands with Michael Beck he went the distance and as a great communicator he got my deposit settled in a short time. I've had Chase for a long time, and this is my latest branch. I like the interior, and the employees are nice. I got a safety deposit box here and they were really helpful in setting it up and when I go inside (to the box) or just to make a deposit, I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a teller. The outside ATM is convenient as well. It's in a good location as far as Ballard goes. No complaints. read more

It was my first time going to the Chase bank in Ballard. They were so helpful with getting me what I needed. The teller greeted me right when I walked in and even gave my dog some treats. The bank was clean and there were social distancing pads on the floor for where to stand. The friendliest Chase bank that I've been to. read more

I opened my account in 1977, many long years ago, over 40 years ago. I needed to have some work done on my home and spoke to Brandon at the Ballard Branch. He told me that under no uncertain circumstances was Chase going to loan me any money, no lines of credit, no personal loan, nada, nothing period. I have my home loan/ mortgage through Chase Bank, I asked him numerous times the answer was NO. I have a small savings account at Banner Bank and I called them and was told. "Carol of course we can loan you the money to upgrade you home. I went into Banner Bank in Ballard and got my line of credit NO PROBLEM. Out house is going on the market this month. My home loan is not all that much we are selling at over a million and a half dollars. You can bet dollars to donuts that our home loan will be paid off and the money from our home sale is going to go into my Banner Bank account. I will be closing out my Chase account. Brandon, you are the reason I am going to close out my account at Chase. I just cannot believe that Chase treats a good customer like dirt. Screw this place. I've had nothing but problems with Chase since I was lured in with an Amazon "gift" with getting there credit card. Now it's 29.99%, after introing the 0% of course. Now, the people. Never once have I met a helpful teller at this bank. One girl was so off, I seriously wondered if I had wandered into another universe. Another time, they couldn't understand English. I'm just saying. Nothing wrong with that, unless you work at a bank where in order to provide any sort of service it is in fact necessary. So, now I leave Chase, of course, they charge balance transfer, so you've gotta pay them off in cash. And, of course, dropping the card hurts your credit. I ABSOLUTELY HATE BIG BANKS! Like all other big banks, Chase has a fee for everything! You are charged every time you use an ATM, if you don't have at least a bizillion dollars in your account, if you enter a branch and seek the assistance of a rep... it's ridiculous! This branch tries really hard to sell you on their different products. I've been hit up several times for personal and business account products by their pushy reps. I find that very annoying because 1.) I don't care for your products, 2.) I'm usually in a hurry and want to get in and out of there as quickly as possible and with as little hassle as possible, and 3.) I usually have so many reps approach me that I feel like they're vulchers and I'm roadkill they want to devour. And, the bulletproof windows they just installed make me feel uneasy... is Ballard really THAT unsafe? read more

I have many accounts with Chase including my home loan. I just wrote a check to my employee and he has a business account with Chase but because he didn't have a personal account CHASE was going to charge him $6 to cash a check. They know its him, he has ID, and he does business with them. Well he used too do business with them. He is livid. Me too! I have half a mind to pull my accounts and move them to my other bank and join a credit union. My kids already have. Unbelievable! And how much money did we give the banks? You would think they would be a little more considerate to their own customers. PS I have been friendlier banks too. read more

No customer service. It's like they literally want to to go away and never come back. You can sit in that lobby for literally 30 minutes and nobody will speak to you , much less help you. Zero people waiting in line at the tellers window, but when you ask the teller if he can call someone to help, he just says in an irritated voice "Go wait in the lobby and someone will be with you shortly". No, they won't. I could see multiple employees in their glass walled offices and yes, they saw me too, but nobody is at all interested in lowly customers. By contrast, walked 1 block over to Bank of America, was greeted when I walked in and helped shortly thereafter. read more

This place drives me crazy! Absolutely the least personal bank I've ever been to. I've been a customer, unfortunately, here for several years, making at least weekly trips to deposit checks or do other business. Not once has a teller recognized and called me by my name. They're like robots. Actually, a robot could be equipped with facial recognition technology that could outdo their lackluster customer service. I run a small window and gutter cleaning business and every person in this bank has helped me one time or another with personal questions like... how was your vacation? They seem to know me by name and best of all always fill out my deposit slip without giving me a weird look or quick lecture on where I can find them and so on. I also go to the branch in Fred Meyers and get great service there also. read more

I have always had great service here, especially from the account reps-Jenny, Blaise and the manager, Jason. The account reps helped me resolve a complicated foreign transaction that was costing me a lot of money. I give them an A+. read more

Chase is the absolute worst bank on the planet. They have the highest fees of any bank I have ever been to and I'm done paying over 300 dollars a month in banking fees... this bank lied to me about their free checking to get me to bring my business over from US Bank. How is over $300 per month free? My final straw was when I got charged a random $12 banking fee and because there was not enough money in the account Chase Debited my Overdraft account $50 then Charged me $10 for the "service" So Chase random fee of $12.00 plus $10.00 ODP fee = an 83% service charge to cover a random Fee that came from Chase in the first place... ???? I bank at 4 other banks as well and am treated like a human being and am pleased with the other bank's performance...I.E. I am not usually a complainer!! On top of that...didn't local government just deem 83% fees as being usury??? Lied to, cheated, and stolen from I am out of here!! Oh yeah...and what is it with Chase's commercials that poke fun at and Mock people from the Northwest? Really? Very offensive. WAMU was a quality company...too bad they were sold to the lowest bidder because J.P. Morgan Chase's family is one of the private owners of the Federal Reserve...don't even get me started with that! Frank Surdam at the Ballard Branch is a Rock Star for business banking...Unfortunately he stuck his neck out there for me to try and do the right thing and got in trouble with his supervisors! WITHDRAW ALL YOUR MONEY FROM CHASE. RUN, DON'T WALK, TO THE NEAREST CREDIT UNION. The sad thing is, we knew better, A credit union is our main bank account, but we had a Chase account from several years ago when it was still WAMU (a great bank). We had a bunch of savings there that we recently transferred to our checking acct to buy a car. Well, someone (at a car dealership we visited, I think) stole my identity and made a fake ID, and waltzed into a Chase branch and withdrew all our money! They did it in 2 transactions - we found out later - cashing a bad check (the amount was drawn from our acct when it bounced) and then they used a withdrawal slip to withdraw the rest - several thousand dollars. Here's the thing - Chase started a fraud investigation when the bad check bounced, but never notified us. We found out that our account was nearly empty from an aggressive, nasty notice from Chase saying that our account was closed "according to the terms and conditions of the account agreement." It didn't give any specifics. Just "you're out." We looked at our account online and realized with horror what had happened, and called the bank immediately. The next two hours was like being in the Twilight Zone. I was on hold most of the time. Every 15 mins or so some young, clueless rep would come on the line and I'd have to tell the story again. They would say sorry they didn't know what to do and were going to transfer me to a different dept. Now, two weeks later, we still don't have our money. I've learned how to get a person on the line at the fraud department, but it's hit or miss - occasionally you get someone nice, but most of the time the person is reading off a script and in any case, none of them have been able to tell us the status of the investigation. The police, both in San Francisco (where the theft took place) and in Seattle, have assured us that the case will not be investigated by law enforcement. They said it's not enough money for Chase to pursue it. Our credit union is awesome. I'm certain this would never happen there. read more

I always get great service from this branch. They go above and beyond with customer service. I know people don't like big banks, but we are reviewing this branch in Ballard for yelp. They really are staffed with nice local people. I never forget the times I see a lonely soul sitting in a comfortable chair enjoying a cookie and a moment of rest. read more

If I could give this bank a ZERO rating, I would. I am not a member but I entered this bank about a couple of years ago and asked if I could get quarters. I had cash on me that I pulled out and didn't think there would be an issue but, I was told otherwise. It took 2 Chase employees to try to explain to me why they were unable to help me. Long story short, one of the employees (a male), was unprofessional after I told them that they had POOR customer service. He told me to leave while raising his voice and pointing his finger at the door (I wasn't even loud nor did I use any curse words) as I reiterated how UNPROFESSIONAL he was. I think what triggered him was when I said I would TWEET the POOR customer service their bank displayed; particularly him. Nonetheless, I left and went literally across the street to Umpqua bank where I had NO issues with exchanging my cash for quarters. Chase should be ASHAMED to have someone like that man to represent them. Umpqua's staff told me that they REGULARLY had complaints about CHASE not wanting to give quarters to people who were in the same situation as I was. read more

If I could I would give them a half a star. My husband and I have 4 different accounts at Chase. We stayed with Chase when they took over WA MU. Over the years I have always gone to my bank to have signatures witnessed/notarized. Chase in Ballard, if I am to believe the poorly mannered bank clerk, only notarize Chase documents. We have endured bank errors and repeated bank errors on accounts and accepted that some of their apparently inexperienced staff were kind of flaky. I've decided to find another bank even if I have to drive out of my way because quite simply I would prefer to bank at an institution that does not employ snotty little girls. read more
