I went in during business hours and tried to check in using the kiosk. The kiosk said the are not currently taking walk ins but also did not give an option to set an appointment. none of the staff there greeted me or offered any assistance. Had to go to another branch after an unfortunate waste of time: read more

Would not bank anywhere else. Customer for 40 years, and never had a bad experience. Always friendly, most of the time efficient (yes, there are new employees that sometimes need further training, but not a big deal, they get help when needed). Good website that makes transactions easy; and lots of ATM's to get cash or make deposits when needed. read more

I have a slight love/hate relationship with their outdoor ATM. Normally, everything works wonderfully. I love the Snapshot ATM's. I love the friendly and helpful customer service reps I get at BECU locations. The outdoor ATM at this location, however, is the one that ate my paycheck AND debit card recently. I put it in to deposit, and the ATM just started restarting windows. Over and over and over. I *freaked*! When I went inside, they helped me out. They took down my information and told me the check is still in the machine. They ordered me a new debit card and gave me a temporary one to use. Several days later, my money was in my account and I received my new debit card. This was, however, just the kind of thing that I sometimes fear would happen with the Snapshot ATM's. They handled the situation very well and in general I do love BECU, but I never use that particular ATM for deposits anymore. Now I go for the one indoors, and cross my fingers that this doesn't happen to me (or anyone else) again! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Message I have received from a BECU employee. YAY! "Hi Inna B., we have serviced the machine you were having problems with and have not been able to duplicate the issue anymore. It shouldn't be giving you problems anymore." read more

BECU credit union - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I am in the process of leaving Bank of America--for good, even though B of A has recently decided to not levy a $5 monthly fee on debit accounts. BECU is where I am going, and, so far, they have been pretty good. Pleasant, dedicated staff. Minus the non-stop unveiling of asinine "new" and totally unnecessary--no wait, positively jackass'd--features that are the hallmark of B of A). Which just goes to show that smaller "operations" such as this don't necessarily pale in comparison with the behemoths of the industry. You actually get interest on a checking account. B of A gave me pennies per quarter on my SAVINGS account! Nothing will persuade me ever to go back to B of A or another commercial bank. Wasn't the banks and Wall Street that got us in the current economic mess, anyway? * * * * * The only drawback so far has been the fact that for some unknown reason not all bills can be paid electronically. With my old B of A account I was able to pay my rent with their online banking "bill payer" program. BECU actually pays this with a paper check, which, of course, takes much longer to clear and be paid. read more

It's 3 rd week since we applied. We informally have been told than BECU won't process our loan. Why? Coz umm...i have limited credit history and and a risk.. translation you're not a US citizen..so the rules of loan change... we don't want to take chances with you..... (surprisingly BECU should already know this coz I am a member) this is what I get after tryin to get in touch with loan officer. after 2 weeks of futile attempts, i finally manage to get hold of contact info for this fictional loan officer of mine from real estate services..no calls returned and email bounces back... Shady ..shady shady read more

BECU is only good for simple transactions. If you have financially a simple life and only need saving/checking accounts, they are awesome. But, if you want to get a loan or anything more complicated, AVOID BECU. Tragically, I got a home equity loan and converted it to a 15-year mortgage. I just paid my regular payment with EXTRA $. My extra $ went towards interest, not principal. Why would anybody pay extra $ towards interest? Does this even make sense to you?????? Oh, I am going to work extra hard this month so I can pay BECU extra interest?????? So, I called the bank thinking it was going to be an easy fix. WRONG. I was on the phone for 15 min and ended up talking to a loan manager. Not sure why it only took me less than a second to detect the flaw with their website, but this professional banker/loan manager never did. She was trying to argue with me, so I just figured the conversation was hopeless/meaningless/waste of my time. So, I gave her a task that met her level of intelligence --- just cancel my payment. I will just make my "regular" payment tomorrow. And wait a week and make "extra" payment towards the principal. The BECU website is heavily FLAWED. Please double and triple check all the transactions. Again, if you only have saving/checking accounts, don't bother. They do simple stuff pretty well. read more

Worst bank I have ever banked with for a loan. I would not recommend at all. They do not work with you for date changes. They will continually call you so you can pay them. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!! read more

I have used the cash machine at this location on several occasions. There is one inside the lobby and one outside although I have only used the inside one. Every time I have used the ATM here it has performed admirably while completing my transactions as instructed. I will return to complete more ATM transactions in the future. read more

Emma is AWESOME!!! She gets 5 stars. Only down side is no parking otherwise 5 stars. Yeah yeah I know it's the city but there's days when I don't feel like making the trek to the bank in the torrential down pour. Maybe I need to see if becu has an iPhone app to take picture of my deposits. But I have a love/worry about the deposit machine. It scares me that it'll eat up my money, I've made 4 deposits and it seems ok. I will keep going back cause Tukwila is too far. My trick is to shop at Safeway so I can park and just run over to the bank quickly. ;) read more

I had an issue with fraud on my account and it was a very tedious process but Andrey Dombrowski was extremely helpful and gave me a follow up call a few hours later to let me know that the process had been finalized. I recommend this branch to anyone in the local area! read more

I wish I had discovered the wonderful world of credit unions years ago! Shortly after I moved to Seattle I switched to BECU. All my experiences with the union have been wonderful. I was fortunate to have Allison assist me in setting up my accounts. She was very thorough and polite and ensured all my questions were answered. I'll never go to a traditional bank again. Thanks, BECU! read more

Best bank/credit union EVER. They have the best rates and customer service. There are no stupid or hidden fees. I love that they are local. I have never understood why people store their money with big corporate banks that charge you to bank. Time to sign up for a BECU account Yelpers. read more

I know I know everyone loves BECU. My money has sat there doing nothing for years and yes, they do free cashier's checks and have good rates. But as far as this specific location goes, they are WAY too slow. I waited one hour and no one helped me. In fact, they were all on the same person they were helping when I walked in except for one employee who jumped back up the list to someone who was absent when their name was first called. This employee was the only one who looked even close to done so once I saw that I was not next on the list like I originally thought, I left. I crossed over to Bank of America, told them my situation and they gave me a free money order this one time. It took 10 minutes. Sometimes you get what you pay for. read more

There was a problem, Raul fixed it. Went from 1 star to 5! Thanks for helpin me out dude, I look forward to doing business w/ ya'll in the future! read more

We can't say enough good things about BECU. Excellent customer service. Great rates and loans. Plenty of e-services like online banking and a mobile app which work very well for deposits and finding a free instant teller. Plenty of free instant tellers all over the region and the country through their partnerships with other credit unions and vendors. I feel SO MUCH better using a credit union than a publicly owned bank. Instead of profits going to shareholders, they are reinvested in the business and passed along to members...like me! read more

I was under the impression that you get more human customer service from this type of financial institution. I was wrong. You have to write your name on a stupid board and wait and wait and wait. They are seriously understaffed. Also, when I opened a checking account, they gave me a credit card with a mere $500 credit limit. Seriously?? I felt like a 13 year old; No thanks! I closed the account in a few weeks. When it comes to banking, I would rather deal with the big evil ones like B o A, who is willing to tempt and seduce me with a 10K credit limit in hope of turning me into their slave, paying off a huge debt until I die. read more

I recently switched from US Bank. I must say what a relief. Finally a bank that cares and does not have hidden fees. finally a bank that doesn't steal your money. Thank you Becu for caring. read more

Kudos to BECU, and more specifically William at this branch. He went above and beyond to address a problem I had with some account fees and worked out a solid solution. Excellent service! read more

They used to be pretty good, but now I noticed that all their services cost a lot. Their credit card reward program cost 25 dollars/ year, cashier check is $3 and ... At lease banks do not charge for their credit card or cashier checks. I moved my savings to a bank. BECU is suppose to be a non for profit org. read more

I don't write a ton of reviews but I've had some really positive experiences at this BECU. Everyone has been really kind and helpful, especially Shante, she is the best. I have encountered a couple of problems with the ATMs but haven't had much trouble getting them resolved. Overall I'm really glad I switched from the BOA up the street. read more
