I have been a member of this institution for a few years and would highly recommend to people for…read moretheir customer service, up until now. I had a very bad experience with the bank and feel is should be shared to save others from having the same experience. I had a check that I deposited into my checking account that was larger then normal as well as drawn from out of state. My name was printed incorrectly on this check as well. (Three red flags) I asked the teller how long it would take to clear and was told 2-5 business days. I was happy to wait. The teller needed authorization to deposit and upon returning informed me that the manager had approved to go in as cash! Highly unusual for this but when a manager signs a check they are taking responsibility for what happens to the check (standard banking procedure). Hm they must be familiar with this company. I go about my business and two days later the check is returned as a fake. I am in shock and go to the branch to talk with the head manager for help! She takes me into her office and offers to help me call the number on one of the cards I had with me. I too call and when I am done am told that I am out the money and that I should report to the scam to the police. They tell me that my issue is with the bank, they should not have released those funds until it cleared. I return to the bank and am told to call the collection department which I do and am told that I should not have presented a fake check to them. How was I supposed to know this, that is why we bring to the professionals to tell us if it's good or not. They put in my account as cash with out making sure I had the funds to cover (common bank practice) which I do not and am now told my accounts are frozen until I pay off this debt I owe them!! I am offered a loan after 60 days?! I have a payment coming out automatically tomorrow and do not have the money to cover this! I am told I never should have presented the check and that he's seem my letter! Wait what? My letter? Apparently while "helping" me the manager decided to take a letter I had gotten with the check I deposited, and copied it to send out to others in the bank!!! She did not ask me to copy or if she may share it with any one! I have attempted to work with the bank for the last month and am told that because I did not bring any suspicions I had to the manager I am at fault! I am out the money because they did me a "favor". I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS! I didn't ask for the money to be put in right away, I didn't ask for all of my money to be taken, nor did I ask to be traumatized by the events and actions of the staff of this bank. The bank also did not address the head managers actions of stealing my personal letter and sharing it bank wide. Apparently, V over at corporate thinks this is OK. So, before you go to the Northgate Town and Country CU be aware of the manager who gambles with your accounts by signing a check that might be good or not, but puts your accounts on the line for her bet. Then watch out for the head manager who steals and does as she pleases with your personal belongings.

I generally use ebanking (which I love!), but I do also sometimes go into the branch or use the drive up. Each time, the employee has handled my transaction despite the hour, and has done so with graceful courtesy.

My debit card frequently does not function when traveling internationally, despite providing advance notice. In addition, the online banking platform has proven unreliable, with important account information--such as my routing number--periodically disappearing. The only resolution offered has been to visit a branch in person, which is not practical for customers with standard business-hour work schedules. Customer service has also been disappointing. Phone representatives appear to be located out of state and are unable to provide local branch contact information. Furthermore, it has been extremely difficult to obtain a call back from our local branch. This experience does not reflect the level of accessibility or responsiveness expected from a community-focused bank. Additionally, I have made multiple requests over the past five years--both by phone and through submitted forms--to discontinue paper statements. Despite these efforts, they continue to be sent monthly, along with a $7 fee. Overall, the experience has been consistently frustrating and inconvenient. As a result, we have decided to move our accounts to another institution and hope to find improved organization, more reliable service, and more reasonable fee structures.
