Chase made a MINOR error when opening my business account. Not a huge deal. But it wasn't my error, it was theirs. (I do know my own middle name.)
It wasn't the mistake, it was the response to the mistake that prompted my review. To be clear, most of the staff, including branch manager Aaron Miller, have been helpful and friendly.
However, some staff may need further training to help them view customers as valued partners instead of viewing us as interruptions or problems that must be dealt with.
This is especially relevant with the continued proliferation of FinTechs and other digital-first companies (for example, Ally Bank) that now compete with Chase and other traditional institutions.
In a business world that now runs mainly online vs. brick-and-mortar, we customers have myriad banking options at our fingertips (another example is Novo Bank).
If we encounter enough friction, it's easier than ever to trade a relationship with a bank in which we feel dismissed for one with a local bank or eager up-and-comer in which we feel respected and valued. read more
