Not super impressed with my visit here. I came in to cash out my balance and close my account due to a new monthly fee beginning next month. The teller Nancy seemed a bit flustered, initially would not let me cash my check and told me close the account first. I insisted I wanted the cash out and would then close the account with a personal banker. She then asked me for a debit card pin despite the fact I had a check and a drivers license already out because it would be easier for her to look up the account. On principle I don't give out any private information I am not required to. Eventually she gave me the cash, in a disordered fashion, and told me to come back another day to close the account. I said, I'm going to do this today. Five minutes later I am just a former customer.
As a former bank teller, I largely think that tellers are unnecessary (ATMs and online access can do pretty much everything) unless they are excellent at their job. This Chase just seemed okay. read more
