I'm not one to write negative reviews (or many positive reviews, for that matter), but I just couldn't hold back/ignore service that I've experienced at this branch (walking distance from my home) on multiple occasions now. Today, 6/16/2025, I walked in to cash a check received from a friend that was over 1K. I/we are also Chase customers, possessing a Freedom CC but not any checking or other bank accounts. I present the proper ID to the young and unprofessionally dressed (T-shirt) young woman by a name starting with J -zmin) I believe on the other side of the plexi. She starts her check cashing process and informs me that I'm not a "Chase bank customer" there'll be a $10 fee. Okay, I thought, no big deal. However, I informed her that I AM a bank customer since we have a CC with the institution, and that I've cashed cashed previosly (at this and other branches0, and, at the direction of those employees, I presented my CC on no charge. She had no idea about that (bank employee- imagine that), verified with her much more knowledgeable colleague next to her, and replied: "you learn something every day". So she continues the process, constantly looking for advice/direction from her peer, and at some point, after running and processing the legal piece of paper through the reader multiple times, tell me that the check cannot be cashed today (or ever) since the system is glitchy and is giving back a FAILED message, and after stamping the back of my check with a message indicating that it can't be cashed ever again, tells me to contact my friend, the issuer to get another check, or deposit it into a non - Chase account. I just about lost it, and after arguing with these young women (appearing younger than my daughter), the experienced one states short and brash "is there anything else we can do for you, SIR?' I replied, 'Yes, fix the problem you created for me!'. I asked for a manager and the J girl went to the cubicles are and spoke to a well-dressed 3-piece-suit gentleman (seemingly explaining the sitch (and her side of the story), then I was invited to sit down. The gentleman, Bernard (appeared to be the branch manager) was polite and stated that he's going to try to remedy the situation. I 've dealt with him once in the past, as I experienced not ONE, not TWO, but THREE of these same hassles, and on the prior 2 encounters, I simply drove to another Chase branch and had NO PROBLEM conducting the transactions I was in for. Image ..........3 TIMES experiencing the same incompetent/ unexperienced service by tellers at the same branch. Every time, proper ID'ing was presented and everything else they asked for to confirm my identity. SO.................this level of service steered me away from giving Chase a try at banking ever. I've been with a major competing bank since the late 80's and they treated me very well. I know that many folks (including friends and family) didn't have the same experience with my bank. I considered opening a business account with C for my small business but shortly after the first negative experienced I chucked that thought quick. If I could give/rate this branch a minus 1 star I would. Lastly, I'm here to expose this subpar service that this particular branch located in Buena Park gives to customer or non-customers so that: 1 - proper training is given to the lower-level staffing, and if not, 2 - incompetent staffing is replaced. 3 - quality management is in place to ensure the minimum level of service to us. PS; drove right after to a branch in city of Fullerton, close to my friend's residence, and I HAD NO PROBLEM CASHING 2 freshly re-written checks (that I had to inconvenience my friend with). I have been a Chase customer for over 20 years, but on Saturday, December 7th at 12:40pm my car was towed from the Chase Knott's Berry Farm Buena Park location (7964 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA) for parking for over an hour and they would not return my car unless I paid a towing fee of $539.32. I explained to the towing company (Southside Towing CA 540063) that I was parked there because I was a Chase customer, but to no avail. I appealed to him that the warning signs in the parking lot stated that Chase customers were allowed to park and there was no time limit, but he told me that I had to pay a towing fee because I had parked for over an hour, and that is what I had to pay. I feel this was an unfair and unjust tow and both Chase and this towing company need to address this issue. Is it true that I have to pay the towing company half of the federal minimum living expenses just because I parked my car for a while? Is this towing fee only paid to the towing company? Or is it also paid to this Chase branch?? read more

Nice and convenient Chase Bank location around the theme park and shopping centers. I work not very far from this Chase location. So i do stop here once in awhile when i need something done. Rather than me waiting to i get home to the locations closer to me. Nice space and plenty of parking. Neighborhood might look a little sketchy at night time. I recommend not doing transactions at nighttime in this area. But all in all, i love my Chase Banks. People at this location are professional and friendly. I will continue coming here. read more

This is an excellent review for the associate Daniel Wright, who was so diligent in processing my request today on my tight schedule. Although we started late and had issues with the app allowing me to connect my account to Samsung Pay and Google Pay, Daniel tried his best to get things done fast so I could leave before my lunch break ended. Not only was he able to think on his feet and try several solutions simultaneously for me, he was quick on asking other associates for clarification so that he could deliver fast service. I did end up a few minutes late past my lunch break, but we were able to finish what I needed. His sincere attitude and competence is what really made this such a good review. I can see why others may not have reviewed this Chase location so well, but if they keep hiring and retaining staff like Daniel, it can help make up for circumstances outside of their control. The line wasn't very long, maybe like 5 or 6 people ahead of me but a lady named Cat walked up, asked what services I needed today and quickly helped me do both ! I was in & out (which was very helpful because I'm pregnant & don't have very much energy). THANK YOU CAT FOR YOUR FAST & FRIENDLY SERVICE! Guess it's been that long since I've stayed a Customer, bought out by Chase.. the Staff at this Location has always been very hospitable/professional and yet till this day, they still are! Shout out to "Esther Ebo", BEST customer service encountered & there's a reason why she's Vice President of this Branch.. Her Colleagues seem to be that exact reflection. She recently helped update my Bank Profile in person, and without any hesitation/concern. Chase always has, and always will be my favorite bank! I had a terrible experience with most of employees. They are really bad and liar. If you go there, you can see many of employees but always need to wait over 10 mins with long line. They offered me $500 when I opened business account however manager did not get me $500. The reason is that offer was expired at that time but they informed me that would be fine and no issues for this promotion. However, they are changed mind without notice. It's almost against law because they cheated me. Only one worker Robert tried to take care of me however, it did not work for me. They tend to keep their clients waiting (at least the advisor Isabel De La Torre did) and in the end it was all pointless. This Chase branch is super busy. Ummm, A. because it is located right across Knotts berry farm? B. because the staffs are super slow C. there're just too many people in this area who are chase customers that they needed to go to the bank every day. D. all of the above.D. ALL OF THE ABOVE. There are many windows on this branch, but most of the time only half of it are operational. They do have many staffs standing and greeting customers (which is good), but why can't they just have them open one or two more windows to speed up all the transactions. They have to use all their available resources, that is to use all their manpower, at the same time providing good-quality customer service. This is actually the largest Chase branch in my area (I think) and the busiest. The line most of the time is sooo long, the speed is super slow (just like 2G). The parking is okay, not too crazy. I've obviously been to other Chase banks since I've had an account with Wamu since I was 16. This particular bank is definitely not the prettiest. I'm not saying banks should have the greatest ambience but try a little. The branch in Pasadena that I used to religiously go to felt more inviting and super clean. I didn't feel claustrophobic or as if someone was about to tackle me down. This branch in Anaheim feels a bit more chaotic like they have one too many employees just waiting to force you to open another account so they can meet their quota. No pun intended towards the bankers. You do what you must to make a living right. And oh, they have these cubicle mazes for the bankers that they try to lure you into. Kinda scary. Most banks have nice desks for their reps in an open space. This one encloses you in a maze which you can't get out of. Thank you. Come Again. read more

AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS! My horrific experience doesn't have anything to do with the Rude Filipino Woman at the counter (who I have personally encountered before and can firmly attest to her rudeness) but the clearly incompetent jerk of a branch manager named CLAUDIUS DUNCAN JR. I needed one document notarized. Chase does notarize documents for free for customers, just call the branch to schedule an appointment beforehand. I called to make an appointment and was told to come in the next day at 5:30 p.m. and my appointment was with Bernardo. I showed up for my appointment only to be approached by said branch manager. I asked to see Bernardo and he told me he was not there. I told him that I had called the day before and made appointment with a guy for a notary and was told to see Bernardo. He immediately put both his hands up in an extremely defensive matter and repeatedly told me to calm down. The first thing that came to mind was how stupid how this man was for acting this way since I was not even in the slightest bit upset for him to have gotten that defensive. Why would you demand someone "calm down" when they were already calm to begin with? All I did was tell him why I was there looking for Bernardo. Things quickly went downhill from here. He told me he had someone (Samantha) could notarize my document but I needed to wait an hour because she was opening a new account. (Keep in mind, they close at 6 p.m. and it was 5:30 p.m.) I wanted to know who scheduled my appointment. He said he didn't know. I asked if there was anyone else who could help me? He said no, she was the only one. I asked if he could call another branch, he refused. He was so insistent on telling me he was going to help me yet he wasn't helping me at all! Each time I spoke, his answer ALWAYS included him putting his hands up telling me to calm down threatening he'll say it only one more time (but he said it twenty more times) but even as I started to get annoyed with his stupidity, I still had not raised my voice nor used foul language. I just wanted what I came for. His demands for me to "calm down" now included me to sit down and but I refused. He got more and more defensive, began to raise his voice and speak over me until he was interrupting me each time I opened my mouth to attempt to speak. He told me to step into an empty desk so he could check their appointments schedule on the computer. I went with him to the desk however he refused to even touch the computer and help me until I sat down. I refused to sit down because if he, the branch manager, couldn't assist me with my notary then what was the point of even standing in front of this stupid human being? He continued threatening me to calm down and just to get him to shut up and give me something to work with other than his two favorite words "calm down", I sat down. WHERE I BECAME FURIOUS WAS THE SECOND I SAT DOWN, HE TOOK A STEP CLOSER WAS STILL STANDING, HOVERED OVER ME AND STARED DOWN ON ME AND BEGAN TO SPEAK BUT I QUICKLY PUT A STOP TO THAT BY SHOUTING MY REFUSAL TO HAVE HIM SPEAK TO ME IN A MATTER WHERE HE IS LOOKING DOWN ON ME. So he sat down. NO APOLOGIES for his demeaning actions. Instead gave me some big bad wolf lecture about how he runs this branch with respect and accused me of aggressive actions from the minute I approached him (even though HE approached me when I came in). He rambled on and on as if he was reprimanding me like I worked for him. I was so baffled by what was happening, I was speechless. Eventually, I interrupted his rant and said that him demanding ME to calm down when I wasn't even upset to being with and to speak to me that way was demeaning, and I won't tolerate it. He STILL didn't APOLOGIZE for his actions he just continued to defend himself as if he did no wrong here. He would sarcastically chuckle with every other line he spoke. He told me to come back at 6:15 p.m. and got up from the desk. I left with so much rage and in tears and obviously never came back. I had never felt more humiliated by what just happened. I didn't come here to notarize my document because it was free. I came here because it was convenient. Clearly, I got WAY more than expected and absolutely NO apologies whatsoever for THEIR MULTIPLE MISTAKES. The way this man spoke to me was demoralizing. I was mistreated and disrespected by a GROWN MALE. I've filed a formal complaint with Chase corporate, but I don't expect any results. Beware before entering this branch! There are 2 other Chase branches just a few miles away from this one that you can go to! FYI, this one doesn't even have a drive-thru ATM! This branch needs to get staff that's aware of their business hours. A phone call was made to which a staff member explained on the phone that they close at 5pm. So I make a 30 minute drive to this location based on his word and sure enough the doors were closed to see a teller. Such a shame that they can't even keep their doors open till the time the tell their customers. A lazy/ negligent staff should be reprimanded for actions like this. This is probably my favorite Chase bank. I opened my account with Lana and she was a charm. She was super helpful, very attentive, very efficient and just an overall great young lady. All my immediate family opened an account with her and she attended us with great care. It was five of us and she even brought hugs all chairs and water. She explained everything thoroughly and made it easy to understand. Every time I've come in here the teller is always very sweet and helpful. I understand wanting to save on the cost of hiring employees. However, having one teller and just machines will most likely diminish your profits. If I am going inside of a bank, that means i want to speak to somebody, not see a machine. If I wanted a machine I'd just go outside to the ATM. Perhaps you are catering to the millennials, but millennials want things fast. Having only one teller and a line of 20 people is not benefiting your service model. It's a whole screwed up thing you have going on. There are still a lot of customers that don't want a debit card, they want to speak to a teller to answer their question about their loan, a question on a statement, and those 3 machines can't do that. How can you cross sell your products if you have no humans at the teller line? If you enjoy waiting in a long line, or trying to interact with a machine inside, come on in to Chase. I give 5 stars not to the bank , but to their Officer and Relationship Banker, ALEX LU. Mr. Lu is very good in customer service. He wasn't even our banker, but he attended to our needs. We came to the bank a month ago and we needed our safety deposit box closed. Our banker was busy and Mr. Lu attended to us and informed us that the bank needed a locksmith for that purpose. Just when we thought we were again forgotten, Mr. Lu called to inform us that he already made arrangements for the locksmith and we were able to close the sdb. Mr. Lu represents Chase well and His pleasing personality, coupled by his action, is worth recognition. read more
