A young African woman and an Indian man. Once, I forgot my money and they still had it for me upfront! Anyways. I kept having issues with the app. I would pay online but it wouldn't appear on the app so I was being charged. I decided to call their tech services and an old lady answered. She told me because I got the app through Google play, they weren't responsible for the app. ... What other places can someone download an app? She was totally clueless and when I started laughing she felt embarrassed. I finally had enough and came into this branch and closed my entire account with the manager. Or so I thought. I wish I remembered his name. He felt salty that I was leaving the bank and kept asking why. And when I told him, he scoffed and said that wasn't reason to leave. My reason for writing this.... TWO YEARS LATERRRRR. I find out he closed my checking and savings account but kept not my credit line? He card was deactivated but my understanding was the line was kept open. I got suspicious when I kept receiving Santander emails.... Anyways. I just closed it officially, over the phone, today with an Emily and a Kristen (in the retention center). Shitty management through-and-through.

But today was the last straw. During my lunch break, I drive up to Coolidge Corner and park my car in Sovereign's parking lot and walk around front to make 3 deposits totaling close to $200,000. I leave, and walk around the block, make a quick pit-stop at Mike's to get a sandwich (hell, it IS my lunch break, after all), and walk back to my car. That entire trip took maybe 15 minutes. Maybe. I turn the corner and see Robert's Towing hoisting my car onto their truck, and the tow guy's ass crack hanging out my passenger side door as he's hunched in my car doing who knows what (yes, he broke in.) I walk up to him, politely telling him that I was just at the bank, and I show him my 3 deposit slips. He looks at my sandwich bag and tells me that's not allowed - the lot is for bank customers only, and it'll cost me $50 to get my car back now. I'll save you the rest of the infuriating story and get straight to the point: Any bank who hires a tow company to monitor their lot should at least keep an eye on their customer's cars and know who is coming into and out of the bank. I make multiple deposits at this location, both inside and through the drive through, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to be familiar with frequent customers and their cars. I will be strongly advocating that our business accounts be closed at Sovereign and opened up at a local bank. And I guess I'll stop doing work while I'm on my lunch break. FML.

This bank is a pretty miserable place. On the plus side, it is in a building that looks like a…read morebank, which tends to give me hope. On the minus side, there's rarely more than one teller working, and, while the line gets longer, bank employees in the cubicles across the floor pretend not to notice. They've recently installed enormous TV screens which will no doubt assault our senses with ads for Santander products. In my past two times there, the TV screens had a dedicated tech working on them, while the rest of us peons with actual banking needs languished in line for the one teller. My experience with the cubicle employees has been frustrating. I needed to get new checks with a new address, and one woman told me to come back some other time as they were going to close in an hour. (!?) Next attempt got me another woman whose interest in making sure that my check order was correct was nil. Kept having to read her typing on the computer screen & let her know about errors. And this was simply for checks! The checks arrived and weren't totally correct, but I couldn't deal with the hassle of talking to another unmotivated cubicle-dweller. I also tried to rent a safety deposit box once and was told by a very tired woman that I should call before coming in. Why? Do safety deposit boxes constitute a major time commitment? Not in my past experience, but at this branch everything seems to be an agonizing request. Another time I needed something notarized, but none of the five cubicle dwellers had their seal with them. Pitiful. So I went down the block to Bank of America & a fellow notarized it in 2 minutes. All of which is too bad, because if just one employee there took an interest, I would make use of other Santander bank services.

NOTE REVIEW IS STRICTLY ON CITIZENS ACCESS!!!…read more After years and years of sitting all my money in checking accounts and low interest savings accounts, I finally invested $$ into a CD (I had to finally sit my ass down and study about financial investments). I went with Citizens Access because they had one of the highest rates that I have seen at 2.5% for 12 months (I would never do a CD longer than 2 years but that's just me). There were a couple other banks that were slightly hire (2.55% for example), but I found the format of their website very user friendly and simple for my feeble mind. Why 3 stars? Well apparently a feeble person like me may have made the website. After investing I read the FAQ more thoroughly to see if I would get a physical CD. I saw that they don't do it (most online banks don't), but that they have something you can print out online in your account. I did that and nothing came up so I called up CA. Guy one the phone was nice and helpful enough to walk me through the website. The directions on the website are incorrect. It gives you directions for non CD accounts lol. Another complaint is they do not respond in a timely manner when you message them through their server (it has been over a week since I messaged them and still have no response). For an online bank communication is a huge must. If the rates weren't that good, I would have probably have gone to Discover where I've had 0 problems. In a little less than a year though, I should have a decent return to go on a vacation so I'm thinking about that :) Wish I learned how to invest earlier instead of letting my money just sit there.

I have complained about the online service several times and keep getting told that someone will get back to me, and they never do. I've moved on to another credit union with infinitely better service. When taking out a car loan, I first started at BMCU, but they refused to print anything out or accept an email when it was just for their own records and not the actual loan document. They also refuse to do anything over the phone or electronically. You have to be there in person for everything. And like I said they have terrible hours so it's hard if you have a job to always be coming in. My new credit union is far more flexible. I was able to complete everything over the phone and email and only had to come in to pick up the check. Update: it's also impossible to close this account because they want me to physically come in. I tried making a credit card payment to use up my remaining funds in my account, and that payment posted, but was then reclaimed by Brookline Credit Union. Capital One luckily notified me, but this shitty credit union did not email or call. They don't email about anything. Nothing at this place is functional. It's as if they operate with a 1960s mentality.
