This past 3 weeks has been a melt down for many of us with IRAs or 401Ks. The CoVid19 reminds me of hurricane preparations when I lived in Florida, but it seems to never end and I know it will go on for several more month or even years as we work through this WW3 scenario. That being said, I acknowledge my concerns with Chase may not be that of most. Over the years I've enjoyed being a "Private Client" and having the so called privilege that this class of bank customer theoretically has. I'm sure this elevated service level for those with required deposits works under normal circumstances. As markets crash and you discover your financial advisor is "out of office" one grows concerned. As you call the "800 number for the privileged" and realize your real status, concern grows further. When email message attempts go unanswered you realize you are really on your own, like everyone else. Caution... don't be sucked in by any financial or investment institution that implies they will be there for you if you just lay down the right amount of cash. We're ALL on our own to make the right financial decisions on our own. Educate yourself!!! Paying a financial advisor with JPMorgan or any other institution at 1.35% of your balance annually will not buy you advise or protection that your own educated brain can't provide. Be cautious and make sure you understand the exit strategy your "financial advisor" has for you in time of crisis (if you can even reach them.) Chances are there is no exit plan and really NO advisement! read more
