Absolutely the worst bank you can possibly do business with. I wish I could give them negative…read morestars. I purchased a new home and the mortgage is through US Bank. I opened a checking account at the same time. They held my initial deposit of $50K for 10 business days as it was a cashiers check made payable to me. This delayed the closing of escrow. Additional check deposits were held for 5 business days despite having a balance much greater than the amount of the deposits; an escrow refund check and a personal check. I visited the Apple Valley branch and was told it was because I am a new customer. The branch manager then raised my deposit limit as "a courtesy". Two days later, I purchased a piece of furniture for my new home. I used my debit card. The same day, I paid my insurance premium. Again I used my debit card. I woke up this morning to a notification that US Bank had declined my insurance payment because it exceeded my daily transaction limit of $1,000. I called my insurance company and paid with my BofA card and found that US Bank had charged them $25 for the declined payment and my insurance company was passing along the fee to me. I visited the branch and withdrew every last penny. They tried to give me a cashiers check. I declined and insisted they give me cash. After waiting nearly an hour for them to scrounge up the cash they closed the account. I will not allow a bank to tell me how much I can deposit or spend or how frequently I can make transactions. US Bank is absolutely the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Their restrictions treat customers like children or criminals. It's amazing they are in business.

Unable to cash a government check? What is the point of having a bank account if you can't cash a check. This institution has now lost it's credibility.

I have personal and business accounts at other banks. Recently, I noticed this bank had been charging overdraft fees even though I make sure I cover the overdraft when I get home. I didn't pay too much attention at first and told myself to call and find out what was up. I finally called to find out what the problem was and found out that (1) any deposit (other than cash) made at the ATM after 3 PM is not credited as a deposit UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY; (2) Zelle's/electronic/cash deposits made after 5 PM are not credited UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY. This policy is ridiculous, outdated and clearly a way for them to sneakily earn additional outrageous fees. I felt so duped! What deceptive tactics in this day and age! I told the female customer representative how I felt about it and waited to see if she would make an effort to remove either of the fees just as a courtesy, in appreciation of a long term customer. She actually chuckled at the thought! At this point, I do not know what changed with DCB and their staff, but I no longer recommend this bank, will be informing family who I know bank with DCB of my incredibly disheartening experience and I will be banking elsewhere...not that they care I'm now sure, but it's just to make my personal statement.

Bank employee Luis came and told me that I needed to wait that there were customers coming in with appointments. Not a single person was waiting in the lobby. I've been sitting for 30 minutes. He's sitting in his cubicle by himself picking up the phone to keep himself busy. Another Banke employee did have a patron at her desk and I'm still waiting. I am very disappointed with the service that this employee Luis didn't provide today. I would've gotten up and walked out of here, but I've been a client of Wells Fargo for over 30 years and I had to handle business banking today. I guess when management is not working some employees slack off of their jobs.

I found one nearby where we were at. I drove over here and used the ATM only. There were 2 ATMs available for use. This location has cover shields in front of the ATMs like the ones you see at the bus stops... I'm probably not describing it correctly, but you get my gist. Perhaps it's to block anyone from looking at the people in front of the ATMs handling their transaction or maybe it's to block the wind or something. Anyway, the ATM area was very well lit which I like especially when it's in the evening. Parking was ample. Bank was already closed at that time so I didn't have any encounters with bank tellers. It was just a quick visit for a quick deposit. That was it. Nothing more. Just glad to know there is a WF Bank nearby. Thank you!

What I found instead was some of the worst institutional incompetence I have encountered from any financial institution. After paying off a small personal loan in full, SchoolsFirst began reporting the account differently to all three credit bureaus simultaneously. Not slightly differently. Completely differently. One bureau showed the account as still past due long after it was closed and paid. When I disputed it with documentation, they produced two entirely different transaction histories for the same loan. Their own internal records contradict each other. They also sent an official dispute response letter that misidentified the loan product entirely, getting the basic type of loan wrong in formal correspondence. That alone tells you everything about how carefully they maintain member records. Rather than fix it, they declared in writing that they would no longer communicate with me about the matter, and then continued furnishing the disputed data to credit bureaus anyway. The practical damage is real. Inaccurate reporting on a small loan paid in full affects your credit profile, your interest rates, and your ability to qualify for financing long after the loan is gone. If you are a California educator considering SchoolsFirst, I would look carefully before committing. The credit union philosophy is easy to say and hard to find here when something actually goes wrong.
