I currently have internet service with Spectrum. The equipment used to get the service to the customers is old and outdated. The internet seems to go down frequently. Today I called from my phone, the one with the account, and was told that I would get a call back within a short time. The call never came. I called them again and now I have to wait a lot longer for a call back. I then called from another phone and was told there is no internet outage for this area. I called them back and was told the net would be back up in 8-10 minutes. It did not come back up. I called again and one phone says there's an outage while the other says there's not an outage. read more

I had my reservations going back to them after the endless ROBO-CALLS when i had to disconnect from Spectrum, Bresnan, or whatever the hell they were years ago, but there was no other internet service I could find that 1. Didn't have a contract 2. Didn't have data limits and/or 3. Was as fast (reportedly 100MPS). Tv: Most of the tv apps don't work. (When you try to sign on to Watch ESPN, FoxSportsGo, or record something from your tablet, it just says "sorry, not working at this tme, try back later). Granted, I was able to watch shows/On Demand on my ipad, but only certain channels. Blackmailed: when I called to cancel my cable tv and keep the internet, they said, Oh Sorry, if you do that, your Internet is going to go from $45/mo to $70 something. I said, that's funny, cuz I have another account in another town (i travel for work) that's only Internet, and it's only $45. Oh, ummm...that must've been a special or something. So, I disconnected everything and went to Directv. Am going to try another internet service provider and see how the speeds compare. Any suggestions? read more

This service is an absolute internet nightmare. Not only is it slow and inconsistent. Add to that the customer service is almost non-existent and they won't help anything because they know they have the market cornered. DO NOT GO WITH THIS INTERNET COMPANY. Fair warning. read more

I would give Charter a 0 but yelp only allows a minimum of 1. If you are out of the country Charter makes it impossible to pay your bill or contact them. Very disappointed in the service. Les Zotzman read more

I have been a charter customer for 5+ years (sadly, its about the best internet option that we have around here) Every month my bill gets higher little by little, they never have a good answer as to why other than its the cost of service. My real issue is the terrible customer service! Every time i go in to pay my bill there are several people in line and 2 of the 3 workers are carrying on conversations between one another completely ignoring all customers in line! Irritating especially when standing in line to pay a bill takes up your entire lunch hour! read more

I along with the others can't say enough bad. I can't even give them one star. My Internet was out for 6 weeks. I had a renter who didn't complain. I got home to have no service. They offered me a $4 credit even though the repairman had said they found the problem while I was gone and knocked on the door once! This for $80 a month?! It won't let me post without a star so I will reluctantly give them one. I wish Amazon provided Internet! 2 days later. ... I must add that after a lot of phone time and 2 conversations with a superviser, the superviser did call the technician to learn that I was telling the truth (aha!) and increase the refund from $4 to nearly $30. But it took a lot of persevering and getting grumpy. read more

I wish I could give them less than 1 star. Download speed is the worst. What takes my friends an hour to download, takes me 7 to 8 hours. Sometimes longer. I usually hook my phone up as a hot spot to download that way. read more

Was a fairly decent company until about a year ago. The consistent internet drops, lack of service, spastic bills. The TV service was even crappy. Fifty five dollars for internet alone? Or Eighty for TV and internet? Please, you have so much latency, even dial up looks fast. read more

We have been a Charter customer for over 2 years and the service is HORRENDOUS! It could very well be the WORST customer service of ANY company known to man. RUDE at every turn and they ALWAYS raise prices WITHOUT notice. They should be ashamed. A DESPICABLE company. I have spoken to friends of mine in every part of the country and Charter is BY FAR the MOST expensive. I PRAY someone else comes to the area to put this HORRIBLE company out of business. read more

The nodes are so crappy that during "peak hours" my internet just goes completely out. My modem has been replaced several times and every time, the technician just basically tells me to "deal with it" during peak times. This company is the most reliable here in Montana for internet. I say most reliable because even though it is crap, it's the only one with reasonable speeds. read more

We have had constant problem ever since we decided to get cable last year. Boxes not working. Dvr not recording the right things. Signal gettimg lost often. Get your stuff together Charter! We are shutting our cable off again. Not worth the headache. read more
